Thnaks mate, if I'm being honest I'm surprised at how positive the reaction has been to the owls, here and on the bmg Fb group.
Theophony wrote:Big A and the red son look fantastic, great work on the grey/black on Big A.
As for other clown ideas, how about Puddles Pity Party

Thanks mate. It's been a paint surge of late.
Next job is purples, jokers and batgirl.

Very kind of you. These were done over a base of Vallejo Model Air Mahogany, if that helps.
Debating purples. The two joker sculpts are very similar and want a bit of colour differentiation. I'm think of going really pinky for one (KJ) and indigo for the other (AA), maybe?
Automatically Appended Next Post: And the fruits of my labours.
Been playing with purples, pinks, indigos etc. Did the two jokers over different bases (one pale grey, one black) and with different highlights and washes (pinks and blues) and will get different washes (violet and indigo respectively).
And because I was playing with a pair of Jokers, I thought I should do a pair of Bats:
Same blend colour (VJ model air blue) but Batman's cape base colour was vj purple, whilst AzBat was done from vj royal blue)
And Batgirl came along for the ride.
Her purples are just about done. It's her cape that needs work. Blend colours for that, and rusty lump of metal, need my attention.
But good progress. Slowly but surely, shelf is less shameful

They all look good so far. Looking forward to seeing Az-Bats and Batgirl done the most.
Yeah, they really grabbed me. Hope they don't disappoint.

Yup. Cheers!
Red Harvest wrote:Batgirl's gloves and boots too. A bit stronger yellow color to make them contrast with the purple ( the whole complementary colors thing.)
There are certainly a lot of Batman variants. I like the paint schemes for the 'classic' Batman.
Thanks. Yeah, that was just an ochre base with a bit of pre shading. Me too, I'm really looking forward to 70s Batman. Flashpoint Batman is about halfway done. That leaves Arkham Origins (promo) which I have finally picked up and Animated, which I haven't got... Yet
Theophony wrote:If your still looking for clowns....
bordering on an obsession now, methinks!
Actually, I think I've settled on doing all 3 in Ronald McDonald colours. Cheers for input though.
So I think these guys are done. I'm not 100% though so feel free to chip in
And in a bit more detail:
Vaguely wondering if I should put a tag of some sort on the lump of wall.
I will say that I feel she's come a long way from my first attempt at this colour scheme about 2 years ago:
That's the one that I sold. New 52 version of her paint job to come...
I *think* I'm happy with the golden armour sections.
And the man himself
Yeah, turned out ok I guess.
Jokers are next. After that, maybe Flashpoint Batman. Debating removing Red Hood's head and replacing it with a more comic style one. Because I don't have enough to do
Coming out of the back of hellish week, it's coursework deadlines for kids. Fighting the old personal demons tooth and nail, getting there.

Thanks mate, and good threat that Miniupdate. A bit of variety: Arkham Guards
Not flashy, but nice wee figs.
Flashpoint Batman, however, totally been doing my head in. Still, just about there.
Looking ahead. Jokers are coming along, just the faces to do and, started the clowns. Red Hood AK decapitated and new head made, in the end, with GS. Left from the current wave there's also Johnny Quick and the Gorillas (sounds like a 50s beat combo) before moving onto the shiny metal horde and the rest of twd.
Till then,

Gitsplitta wrote:Yep, I agree... the guards are very nice. Exactly how many batmen do you have??
Cheers. Um... Too many!
Tell you what, when the last one's done, I'll get them all out for a pic.
youwashock wrote: AzBat and Batgirl do not disappoint at all. The gold/blue combo on Azrael is just rockin'. FPB looks cool, too.
Thanks mate, that means a lot. I'm going to try to do Grodd's gold the same way.
Meanwhile, the Joker stuff got done.
Maybe.
Smile!
Happy with the build. Not sure about the paint job.
Here's the other joker, which I think I actually prefer.
But I wonder whether I should have gone full Ronald McDonald in him... Like these guys
Thoughts?

Yeah, but my brain hates me and now wants a Ronald McDonald joker. Still, I think I'll tone down KJ's paint job with nightshade etc to better reflect my more successful scheme.

Good job on the various Bats. Good update to Batgirl, and Ooo, I feel good and geeky for recognising a character that you're showing off in Az-Bat: something I've actually read. Good job on him too.
Nice guards.
and then I'm back to feeling dumb. flashpoint-bat...?!
I'm just accepting that the majority of the characters you show are real (in the comics) and you're not just making them up as you go. You could easily sneak one past me.
Good work though.
Nice job on the Jokers and their maccy-D crew.

Yay, AzBat who has returned, sorta, to the main canon. Which is nice Flashpoint is a timeline created by the Flash dicking about as usual. In it, Bruce is shot by Joe Chill, and his father becomes the Batman to avenge him whilst his mother becomes the Joker as she goes crazy. It's pretty good.
youwashock wrote:The Ronalds are fantastic! Very successful.
I like the colors on the 2nd Joker more, but prefer the 1st model.
Yup, with you there. Whilst the new resin is noticeably crisper than the metal, it's a very dull pose.
Camkierhi wrote:Excellent work on the Joker etc. All looking quite brilliant. Is it possible in game to have more than one bat at a time.
Not... really. Not on the same side. DCU is not quite so restrictive, though, as anything is possible in the Multiverse.
Right, so, the Killing Joke Joker got redone:
I appreciate they're not great pics but it's more to illustrate the colour now matches the other Joker.
Speaking of which...
...
Now that's scary Johnny Quick *should* be fairly straightforward, and Red Hood is more about the conversion. That just leaves gorillas! (and walking dead). I've ordered some bits from blackcatbases also, so I can have lots of disturbing surgical gear lying aroudn the bases of Pyg and the dollotrons.
Hey, a man should have a hobby...

Wow. All are wonderful looking. Love the model reange as well. But I have to say my favorite or the Ronald one. McDonalds nail that character for their franchise and if some used it in this way irl I would scare the crap out of me. Well done they loom as if they where fun to paint as well.
