Here's most of a manticore, leftover from my Ordinatus project...

With some bits from the bin...

Gotta scrounge up some hatch parts, but otherwise: ACCEPTABLE IN THE 80'S, and that's good enough for me.

You selling off your guard? That would be an end of an Era!

Nice Manticore save.

Not selling the guard, or my Adepticon armies, but I'm purging everything else.

H is taking what has been sitting about collecting dust and cracking on building them to clear those boxes out! Good to see!

Next year after all this flurry of building will be his wave of painting the things!

Taurox Prime.

Autocannons are swappable with the volleyguns (costs the same - free) and left the roof off, because it looks like a missile rack.

I still hate this vehicle.

But the way the coaxial heavy stubber came out is, in my opinion, cute.

Switching to little plastik mans for a while...

Ladies and Gentlebeings, your Helldivers. These are the scum of the Imperium, Penal Troopers given a suicide mission. Jump from the back of a speeding Vendetta Gunship, with nothing but a satchel charge, and a few grenades. Other convicts are given the 'mission' of making sure the satchel charges are placed, usually by protecting the mad bombers with their lives.

No, you in fact CAN'T have a 'spare weapon'. This is the Astra Militarum, boy, and it'd just be a waste. Plus, it's what the rulebook says. Yup! Take a Demolition Charge, you're up the creek without a lasgun!

"Thankfully", you can give the squad Krak Grenades! Hee hee! With the 8" range of a 5" blast template, and a BS of three, plus tossing themselves out of the back of Vendetta, these are truly 'suicide troops'.

The bombers are using Valkyrie door gunner bodies, and Space Marine bolter ammo pouches as the satchel charges. Squads are primarily ID'd by their helmets.

Jump! Fling! Pray! BOOM!

A smattering of heavy weapons teams. Each group of three will have a "Squad leader", in spite of the fact that the rules don't cover such. Why? Because I CAN.

There are more HWT's on deck, I just ran out of bases.

PROTIP:

You do not need to put two models on the HWT base, since the HWT team is a single 'model' with two wounds. It is just tradition.

These are all from Col. Gravis, https://curiousconstructs.theslowcentury.com/ocart/

These models, while wonderful, glorious sculpts....remind me how much I LOATHE working with pewter. Loathe.

However, I believe the good Colonel has switched to all resin.

Good heavens Brian, you are just cranking out high quality builds all over the place! Fantastic work!

Did you see that your Ordinatus is going to have official rules now? Your build must have inspired the guys at FW to get off their butts!

The fact that they're putting in rules for a unit that is designed to destroy entire cities should really show how far GW has sunk.

I'll allow two options:

Vortex Missile: Str D, AP 1, Master-Crafted, Ignores Cover, Rending, Shred, Ordinance, Barrage, 96" Blast

Vortex Missile: Removes all units from the table, no saves of any kind allowed, ignores all special rules that would allow a model to be left on the table.

On the plus side, I don't need to spend the estimated $5-600 to buy one from FW.

I like the second option. With the following addendum....

The Ordinatus has the following special rule.

"Planetary Bombardment: The destructive power of the Ordinatus is far too overwhelming for the model to actually be placed on the same table where the missile could land. Therefore, place the Ordinatus model in the furthest corner of the room from the gaming table. The blast is automatically targeted at the center of the table. Roll scatter. Any roll that is not a direct hit and that scatters more than the Ordinatu's current BS misses the table entirely. Follow the arrow on the scatter die until you come to the next table where a game is being played. Remove all models from the table with no saving throws of any kind allowed. Note: This includes terrain, dice, pop cans, etc. and applies to ANY game being played on that table... not just 30/40k."

Let's talk 2016.

First, a moment on Palladium Books, and the Robotech Kickstarter. Still waiting on Wave Two, still waiting for about half of my Kickstarter Rewards. Seriously considering dumping this on eBay for truly wacky amounts of cash. They really botched this one.

Second, a moment on GW: Really? A moving fortification for the Tau? F-U.

Thirdly, a moment on...me!

Still dealing with the mental illness daemons, which is why I don't want to commit to things like Adepticon, etc. Maybe 2017, we'll see. Fighting, fighting, always tired, rarely motivated.

I've made very good progress on de-spruing and sorting projects. I am about to sell off vast hordes of Marines, Necrons, and Ork. It makes me very sad, and it is very difficult, to sell off projects, whilesale. It tastes like failure. However, having this stuff sitting around, reminding me of everything I'm NOT going to do is even WORSE for mental stability, and getting rid of it really DOES make things better, and allows me to focus down on what really matters.

The Imperial Guard. Or, whatever they're calling it.

I have a small 40K group, which is trying toget games in, got a good game in a few weeks ago, will post a batrep soon, good pictures. I actually managed a win, so there's that.

Debating on my vast collection of terrain, I may purge it down, or donate it to the not-local-but-very-good game store, maybe for store credit. We'll see how that goes. Going to finish off pieces, and the collection of 2nd ed cardboard magic, for nostalgia purposes. Keeping the Cityfight table, because it is far, far too awesome.

Going to keep working on the Battletech stuff, see if I can find some players. And pull out.organize the massive FLEETS of X-Wing I now have, do some repaints, and try and get some action there. If I can get a once-a-month miniatures fix, I'll be pretty happy.

Boardgames! 'nuff said.

So, what to do in 2016, let's see...

Part the First - General Games:

  • Battletech - Paint details onto all the 'mechs, flock the bases

  • Robotech - Make a decision, depends on how much of a fiasco it is in getting the rest of the Kickstarter in

  • X-Wing - Light repaints, organization

  • Battlefleet Gothic - Watch with wary apprehension

  • BONES BONES BONES

  • Part the Second - 40K:

  • Minotaurs - Finish the Airforce, including the Thunderhawk Transporter

  • Imperial Guard - Finish all available parts, then fill in some blanks, possibly a new codex?

  • Nids - All Spore Army? Plus paint more random nids I just found in a box. They're fun to inkwash.

  • Everything Else - PURRRRRRRRRRRGE

  • Part the Third - Terrain:

  • Fortification Line - Build and paint what I have, acquire the remainder

  • River Table - Finish the other two sections, repair the bridge

  • Everything Else - Tidy, Paint, Organize!

  • Thanks to all five of you who stuck around.

    --Brian

    PS:

Also working on my model railroad.

    PPS:

Got a spankin' new airbrush, going to get that up and running!
