Armorcast http://armorcast.com/ is one of the oldest and best 40k resins companies (gave GW the idea to form Forge World and cancel the licences ). Under new ownership they are still going strong. They certainly deserve a thread dealing with all their new releases. Here it is.
Tatooine has not only inspired the Dark Eldar range, here are some Tatooine like buildings, called Martian desert buildings.
The first one is about a year old, all others were released today, with prices between 25-30$, all 5x5" except the last two 7x7" http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=120_143

Just browse their website for Alien Plants, Refinery, Pipeline, Cathedral and steampunk for a start.
Years ago, they made the first Eldar tanks, Eldar Titan, Baneblade, Tyranid big ons (see them in my blog), just everything GW deemed too big to produce in 40k scale.

Armorcast are also responsible for the absolutely fantastic 28mm BattleMechs (Mad Cat, Atlas and Vulture...)
I collect their older models (especially the Titans), and can only recommend their work... I've got a fair bit of their newer releases, and the castings are clean, the price is great, and the service is excellent.

Not the first, that would be Mike Biasi Studios. In fact, Armorcast was fourth in line for that(there was Epicast and Forgeworld USA, respectively, between the two). However, all four used the Biasi models. http://www.epicast.com/index.php?mode=page&page=lostandbanned

They all look... the same.
When I saw this at TTGN I was excited, but then saw that they're all the same box with slightly different door details. I was expecting a bit more.

Hmmm. They are all good and the Star Wars link is nice, rather simplistic though. I can't help thinking that if I was paying for scenery I would want something that I could not easily make myself.

Look pretty meh to me... Looks like late 80's WD terrain built from a kleenex box :S
Armorcast is a funny company for me, a lot of their stuff is fantastic and innovative, and then there is this level of stuff too...

Yes they are. However, armorcast lost their license for the Battletech mechs at the end of 2007 or 2008. If you can find them you will pay dearly for them.

Those buildings are a little low detail for 25-30 bucks. They look nice enough, but I wouldn't really want to spend more than 15 on one.

Not bad? Those things are utter garbage. They look little better than some of the terrain I see people making out of cardboard and styrofoam. For a company that expects money for their effort you'd think they'd put at least a little effort into their products.

TBH, these are sub par. I don't like the corners, or lack there of. I'm confident I could build 10x better at 1/10 the cost and my modeling skills are not what they should be. I'd expect much better from professionals than this offering.

I love Armorcast, but this really is sub-par. Liike like something I could make out of foamcore and textured paint, nothing something I'd pay good money for.
Armorcast really needs to get their head straight. You're only going to sculpt these once, and cast them a zillion times - why skimp on quality.
A massive step down from their refinery stuff, which is excellent.

Looking for the Empire spearmen from the Warhammer sixth edition box set (empire vs orcs) Must be unpainted and in good condition. Also looking for MIB Empire State Troops boxes.
Looking for Battle for Macragge and Black Reach Tactical squads, unpainted and unassembled. |

Why is no one worried by the necron with the plasma pistol and chainsword, who's allied with the Tau air caste and the cowboy squat!?
As for the terrain, I'd say they're decent. As in, I'd allow someone to place it on my gaming table, but I wouldn't pay money for it.

Just for the record, Epicast never used any of Mike Baisi's models. Forge World used only copies of the Biasi production kits for their models, not the original masters.

The snail is indeed cool.
I think the 'modern' Armorcast has relatively few ties to the old. Their online store almost feels like a co-op for small sculptors, with severa weird product lines going their own directions.l

I have a fair amount of Armorcast scenery and really like it, but that snail looks a notch above the quality of their previous stuff!
I'm still waiting for their 28mm APC to come back to the store.

I sold the "original" Armorcast in 2007. Steve and his partner had a good number of lines even before they bought Armorcast. Since then they have picked up a number of other lines and added them to the company.

That snail is very tempting. I think that it would work well in Malifaux. If the size is right it may also work in Spartans Dystopian Legions.
