and as I have never painted yet any fur, your furries look very cool...the black wolf is also very convincing!

cheers, vik

Okay, face time.
Only got as far as step 9 in Nerdfests step by step guide to faces and my eyes started to get all out of focus on me (Damo, how on earth do yo do this?!?)
Looking not bad but a bit sloppy I think. Actually scared to go further but worried it doesn't look right.

What do you think?

Hi Vik, Yes, I saw it too, its on the same model with the 'wolverine' head.
I have another of those heads set aside for a project which needs finishng.

And a cheetah wolf?? No being chased by puppies in my dreams, but weirdly I have been dreaming about bananas!!

Hey Gits, glad you like, when are you sending yours across the pond? I thought you had plans to sell them?

Getting close to burn-out on these now, plus sice (almost) finishing te aces I have had a migraine lay me low, so took a few days off painting, occasional peeks on here ....

Anyway worked a wee bit on my prototype shields. Will be too big for my TWC I think but should look good on my Terminators. Will mock them up on the TWC anyway as they are for a competition and want to get them out the way.

Let me know what you think, did I get it to look like wood panelling??

burn out in hobby is really bad... maybe do something inbetween funny for a change...

but I assure you...the wooden floor looks amazing...and raises the question...how?...it really looks like aged and randomly tossed together length of wood...polished through time...wow! Thanks Gits. I really thought I had botched it when the washes dried cloudy, seems the gloss varnish saved the day.

I tried transfers again on te twc. By and large a success, but again 1 went on cloudy. Got to learn control.

GW staffer told me to put lahmian medium down on the pad, first, then then transfer, then seal with medium. Gives a matte finish, but not a satin sheen the same as ardcoat. works pretty well, but I went a bit thick on one or two.

Interesting. Is "lahmain medium" a GW product or from another company?

Yes Lahmian medium is a GW product, and pretty good at keeping the paints thinned and wet, without making it go shiny.

It's good stuff

Other manufacturers will be out there too.

Hi, EyeamRai, sorry for not responding so quickly.
Unfortunately my postings on here ar cyclical, as I get plenty of time at work to paint and post, but virtually none when i am at home (Ironic I know!!)
So if I go quiet for long spells I apologise.

Brief update time.
Thunderwolves completed or atleast they all are except the Lord whose armour is up for a complete repaint

I have noticed that my paint tends t rub off because I handle the models, does anyone know of a decent varnish which dries matte?

I tried ardcoat and it is shiny d'oh!!

I rushed these towards the end, so blending and other trickerysuffered a wee bit and while I am disappointed that I didnt do my best I am glad that they are finally out the way.

Might go back and do slightly smaller shields, and do their bases properly, but besides that, they will do.

Picture time!!

Tried going from black to steel with the blade and glaze with blue, does it look okay?

Ork see's can of Dr Pepper: Dere's sum dokta peppa, lets gettit, wots da wurst dat cood 'appen?? Rarr Thunderwolf jumps ouand eats them all

Shield a bit big??

One of my favourites, axe came out well, atleast at the front.

I can imagin his shield on a spinning wheel to hypnotise his opponents

Pretty much love how this one came out, especially the axe!!

Anyhoo, have I missed bits?? What can I improve on?? What bits do you like??

Any hints, tips, C&C welcome.

These are so good! the shields are magnificent, and the bases rock. My only thought would be some db'd highlights onto the darker areas of fur, for a bit more texture, would be useful?

Cheers Cam & Graven

Yes I think I will maybe give a drybrush to the darker areas to bring the texture out.

Is it me, or do you find your paint fading or rubbing off as you handle your minature's? Or am I just "Special?

Anyhoo, not happy with the Thunderwolf Lord, so a repaint of the wolf and Lord, kept the cloak and pads, but redid the grey, first coat and shade down. Obviously no drybrushing fun, so practice in blend and layer. Fingers crossed it goes well

RARRR!!!!!

Hehe... You didn't think I'd put some pictures in did you? Apologies but we were testing the electrical systems so it is a bit darker than normal here for pictures.

Tried to make it look a bit bloodied a if the flaesh had been ripped away from to expose the cybernetics a wee bit!! Needs tidying a bit, and will nail it with some clear gloss red when I get home

Again tried something different to the other axes, blue to white... Works well with the textured blades, not sure which I prefer though. Thoughts??

Did my own runes for runic armour, looks alright And yes I know... Moldline!!! Its blimmin' Finecast and impossible to remove, to the point I might remove the haft and replace it with another. Does the neutral colour work well, or do I need to try something else, like green or purple??

IceFang, run me closer so I can pummel them with my mahoosive axe!!

COnsidering changing the hair colour as he is blending into his armour, go white, or something else like light brown?

Anyway thats all for now
