Just my special one from the old Storm of Chaos campaign from WHFB, the "super beast" got mentioned in the weekly herald of the campaign, he lead my Beast-Men when they could have a Earth Bound Daemon.

I never saw any aliens tho... just there ships... which was disturbing...

Do you have old Yamato models Shas? I got 10 at the store yesterday at a dollar each and i'm wondering how they scale against the new Earth destroyers (the gumos and kazes)

Yamato 2199, like the original 1974 version did not show the aliens till later episodes, just the ships fighting what was left of the United Nations Cosmo Navy.

Just the super smal 120mm carriers and Gamilon ship, they are retooling those now to fit the that 120mm size but from the 2199 versions now, and thy are releasing Gatlantis ships(Comet Empire) cruiser and destroyer of that old variety
The older large scale Yamato kits were never properly scaled. They admitted to such.

Section N and other Inquisitorial types are a nice side project which can be done faster, especially when I locate the other 4 sets of wings for the Azure Angels

I'm about to put together mine as a Manticore. I just love the MRLS look. Ever since GI Joe had that 4 rocket jeep thingie. I never got one, well now I am.

Ahem....;COBRA first had the 4 missile S.T.I.N.G.E.R. The trooper who had to stand behind that thing to launch it had the worst job.

Actually, I was referring to the Wolverine, so I was mistaken in that it wasn't a "jeep thingie."

Ahh yes, I always wondered what happened to Cover Girl, she was supposed to be the Baroness' equal in disguise ability, but they never really fleshed out her character. I guess her head got burnt off from driving that thing and launching missiles

Okay, so some new ships arrived, they are the same type of kits from the 1980's I had all ships are roughly 120mm regardless of their relative size in the show of Starblazers/Yamato, but with 2199, new technology, Bandai went all detail crazy!


First are the Yukikaze, it comes in white and red plastic, yellow I had to work on. Destoria class is small so if used with the 1/1000scale, it is a small corvette/frigate, fighter was used to show the small scale ships.

Tank lander/assault ship. It comes with 1/1000 scale Tank and APC. It carries 6 vehicles.

Recon plane FWG-157, it does have a pair of cannons, but the pilots seems more evasion oriented in their flying than combat.

And the booklet shows the big beast of the set! the Haizerad Battleship. I worked on it last night, it shares a lot with the Gaiderol, the battleship on which general Schultz fights the Yamato and dies doing so, just a different death in Yamato2199 than in the original. The original they slammed his battleship into an asteroid and it seemed so simple. SPOILER! In 2199, his ship chases Yamato to the red giant sun that was supposed to destroy Yamato, and as they give chase, the flare the yamato splits starts to g normal and the Gaiderol is destroyed by the solar flares. Kind of like the way in ST:TNG, Worf's brother got rid of the warbirds on their tail in the Klingon civil war.

Of course the Gamilon ships will be painted to match the rest of the fleet, with the few minor exceptions of course!

I love the ships. This is about the only anime I can put up with long enough to enjoy it.

LOL! It was really well done and then put out for folks to enjoy in movie sized chunks in Japan. It is even more to them than Star Trek or Star Wars, a cultural phenomenon as the whole real Battleship Yamato holds a major spot in the Japanese Psyche.

Anyway, the remake of the original design Gamilon crusier in that "Mecha collection series" where they are not in any normal scale at 120mm

I'd be tempted to see how the Dessler looked mounted in place of the Deathstrike Or even the tank lander or scout ship as grot bombs/fightas and use the deathstrike as a looted launcher.

Hmm....I may have to revisit my Yamato ships now with that in mind....they've been sitting around waiting for inspiration to strike.
