If only I was allowed more, I've used them twice in games and it certainly makes for an entertaining firing phase! I don't usually hold with plasma for the obvious reasons but these guys have done well so far.

Randy I like the progress on the storm troopers, but I'm not sold on them. I feel they lack the humor your other schemes have and are coming across slightly, blah:(. Its a color thing for sure your work is always top notch. Maybe do something with a tertiary color to give a little bite? I dunno maybe when you base them all will come together just my 2¥

Thanks a lot, I'll do some close up shots when I'm back in Bristol (away till tues), the lenses will look worse when you can see them better don't worry!

Yeah they look great. I'd really like to do several 10 man veteran squads with diffent themes, an urban camo'd MP5 type gun unit would be really cool. I've always wanted to do a jungle patrol unit as well with rolled up sleaves, boonie hats and lots of rad 3rd party guns (249s, 416s etc). I see these stormtroopers as Paratroopers (hence red berets) and I would like to do these others as SAS (with sand berets as per my avatar). But I'm going to have to shelve this idea for now.

See what you think when they're done. Have you seen the other Stormtroopers? (Kasrkin models, back a few pages) It's the same scheme as they have. Glad you like the humour, it leaks into everything!

Just remembered I did take a snap to show a mate my progress on these guys and just found it in my texts history (I'd deleted the original).

Here they are finished. I'll get some other shots done sometime when I'm back, this will do for now!

See what you think!

Yes I think they do look great. My issue before I think was your colors were so dark along with the black. The lens seemed a darker blue in the other pic. But these do look just great. I should shuddup. Lol

Those are looking 100% great. The basing scheme you've used is excellent for making such a dark scheme pop.

Could we have an 'all in a line' shot of them? A shot next to the previous storm/vets?

Thanks, I'll do more pics when I get the chance. I've also started converting my Commissar Lord out of the Brian Nelson classic Cadian officer (a present sometime ago from MGS). This will be the last model I do for the IG for now, I'll be calling the army done and it seems to be a good model to end on.

Hiya!

Haven't had a chance to do nice pics but I remembered I had these in the gallery already:

This will be my Commissar Lord. It's a slight conversion of the classic Brian Nelson Cadian commander. I've cut off the bottom half of his basing tab and stuck him to the top of an unpunched base in a pile of GS to make him taller. He also very marginally leaning backwards to add to his superior bearing. The bit of base has been added as general wreckage on the base.

The cap is obviously added and the purity seal. I added the big cloak too, with fancy furry mantle to make him seem more imposing, he looked to 'light' without it, see this pic for a 'before':

I've just started the basecoating and am wondering whether to do his uniform in black or gray like the other Commissars? I think I'm leaning towards black to differentiate him more...what do you think?

Definitely make his uniform black!.

What color will you use for his armor?

Here's a (bad) shot of him basecoated..I went for metal armour as my officers have RTesque breastplates and that should help him fit in

with his peers..yes I'm thinking black too, will help show his difference.

I've not had much time for toys :( but I did get a 800pt game vs the new Tau, pretty scary tech they get to chuck about..and was 'gifted' with this:

Nice!

I have two but I would build a few more if GW would make them more useful. I love the models.

This will be my sixth. I had 2 (one of each) and I was given (very generously) 3 quite knackered ones which took a lot of fixing up. I can cobble enough bits to make another Scout class out of this wreckage giving me 3 of each. Light vehicles definitely took a knock with 6th (great for giving away first blood too) but I like em and it rounds out my Shadowsword Domination Force nicely.....

Fantastic command !! I just LOVE the grey and black. It's so classic. I swear these models should be in a 1988 white dwarf, and I mean that as a major compliment. Admirable green stuff and fantastic painting. Big fan here man, keep it up!

**blushes**

Thanks a lot, I do aim for a retro theme. I really wanted an IG army since seeing his pic at the age of 11 or so..

I'm not trying to completely copy this but have some of that style.

I have done some more on the Sentinel,

I had to pin every joint and snap off a foot (shave it smooth and pin it back) as it was at a ridiculous angle. I really couldn't be arsed to order anything and most components I wanted were out of stock on bitz sites anyway.

There were some arms but nothing else so I used a standard Cadian torso and a Chimera pilot head. No legs, just a big lump of GS! 'The Mobile Infantry made me the man I am today son!" I won't be noticeable as the only open topped roll bar canopy I have lying around is a Catachan one I clipped off one of the others I converted into an Armoured class.

Scenic base (polyfilla) ready to undercoat.

Hope to fit some more in soon!
