Yeah i'm good to game on Sunday, though I need to be done around 5pm if we can swing it. Apparently it's Superbowl Sunday and I'd promised to cook food and watch the game with some people over a month ago.

Anyways Sunday 11am at legends, 1500 pts

Hey guys, So I have been out of the scene for a while. I havent even had a game in 6th ed yet.

So Yesterday I decided to pack up all my WH40K stuff. It took me over 4 hours.

On march 11th all my stuff will be going to a good home.

No no, I didn't quit the hobby or the game... I just bought my first house!!

I get possession on March 11th.

Ha ha "going to a good home" Tee hee hee

It has a nice bedroom in the basement that Im going to make it my games room. There is enough space for a game table and my painting area.

My only problem is ventilation. There is no windows in that room. I might have to do the air brushing in the garage or laundry room.

But until then its all packed up and no updates for a while. but I will still be lurking.

Ha ha ha ha Well played sir!

Congrats on buying the home, Welcome to a lifetime of debt

No windows in the basement? A simple fan and a vent would be enough for most air-brushing (depends on hold long you do it for, but a good vent hood should be enough)

Ha ha.... I love when people get smashed and then turn it into a positive learning experience that they are happy about! I have some advice, pay attention to the game you are playing! I also got smashed on my table, but I'm not happy about it, and even worse, while I was getting beat, I had to listen to you and contend for butt space between our two tables!

Good games Rythem. Thanks for the learning experience.

Hi guys, I'm a returning player getting back into things after a hiatus of many years out of the hobby. I've played a couple games against friends using an odd mashup of 3rd/5th edition rules, and now I'm looking to face people/armies from outside my immediate social circle. I've got about 1000 points of Imperial Guard, and 1250 points worth of Space Marines. Generally I've just been fielding them all at once in 1-2k point games. If anyone is interested in a game, I'm usually free weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. I live out in Etobicoke, but I've got a car so I can drive around withing reason. I'm actually within (long) walking distance of Heavy Support Games, so if anyone wants to play there, that's convenient for me, though I've got no idea whatsoever what their policies/playing environment are like.

Also, on a somewhat related note, can any fellow Toronto players recommend a good bricks and mortar store to buy things like paints, glue, etc... And does anyone know of a good Canadian site to order models from Wargames Factory so I can avoid any customs related hassles?

Welcome back to the hobby and to the forums. I used to play at Heavy Support Games (HSG), but I find they don't have a lot of space, and what space they have seems to go to mtg players. HSG is good for buying most items though since they do a 20% discount on most items they carry. If you are willing to drive, a group of us on this forums plays at Legends Warehouse, which I believe is about a 20 min drive from your area. They have a large gaming space dedicated for 40k/table top games, and have good hours for gaming as well, being open 11-9 most days. As for beginner games i'm always happy to do intro games, though I do prefer to play 1500pt + lists since I built my armies that way, I have no problem with you combining your armies to hit point levels though. Sadly i'm not usually available to game most late afternoon/evenings during the week except for maybe Fridays because of work or GF time. Fridays-Sundays I can usually fit 1 day of gaming in with enough advance notice and planning. I'm sure if our schedules don't line up that someone on the forums will, Toronto has a pretty large and active gaming crowd so don't get discouraged .

**When you say you guys play a combination of 3rd/5th editions does that mean you are hoping other players will also do this? Not complaining just saying that unless you are looking for 6th edition you may run into troubles finding people who still remember/play either 3rd or 5th edition rules exclusively.**

I can multi-task! He was playing DE anyways I had to wait 20 mins just for him to finish his shooting phase!

The game went like this:

His turn:
20 mins movement, 20 mins shooting
Me: 1 min of rolling saves

My Turn:
2 mins of movement

Repeat for 6 turns

Lansdowne/Bloor is fine, I can get there no problem. It's a just slight detour from my route home after work, so If you ever wanted to play there on a weeknight, that would be great.

Nice, love that movie. I'm free this Sunday for games if no one has responded yet. Either point level is fine with me, though I wouldn't mind trying out a 2k point list I was working on.

Ahh ok then, yeah I was talking about the weekends anyways. I've done the drive from kingsway/queensway up to Legends and it took about 20-25mins with regular traffic. I doubt it would be pleasant during rush hour, the 427/401 are almost depressing during rush hour.
