2pm works with me, and proxy doesn't bother me at all. I've played against demons before so it shouldn't be too big of a problem remembering what is what.

Speaking of bits trading does anyone have an extra Drach'nyen (abaddon's sword) laying around for trade/sale?

Hey spender good games today, though that second game was a bust. I recalculated my points when I got home and I don't know what I was thinking but I was way over a 1000pts, the exocrine should not of been in that game. Least the first game was even, guess we know why I use army builder now with simple math being so hard .

The farthest store I could reach would either be the GW store at Yonge/Lawrence or perhaps the Friendly Troll store near North York Station (I'm not sure if they allow or have the adequate space to play since I've never been there before).
I'm not sure what the GW store policy here in Toronto is for unpainted models and Forge World models. A significant portion of my Death Guard is is comprised of Forge World parts (just for visual fluff) and I do have one or two out of date models. Judging by some of the opinions/comments it seems the GW store may not be the best place to visit, considering I have a preference for Non-GW and unofficial models. I'll also admit I don't possess a physical and legitimate copy of the 6th edition rulebook.
Currently this month I'll be free on Fridays or the weekend and can make it Thursdays in the evening.
I live right next to the Friendly Trool, there isn't an active 40K community there but they do have space for gaming. I'd be up for some evening gaming, let me know if you are ever interested

Yes any model is fine for the most part!
I actually find it hilarious that you you bring up Yonge and lawrence in response to his post post; I've actually seen a player in a friendly game scolded by one of the staff there for having an old broadside (quite the coincidence I know) on one of the old small bases. I'm pretty sure their base size was increased and they want you to buy the new bigger bases for them. Anyways. Yonge and lawrence blows. Just sayin
That was probably Dan, luckily he is long gone, Curtis, Chris and Brandon are good guys though, Dan was a company zealot with tons of sand in his lady bits. And they are fine with whatever models you bring as long as its GW.
Besides that, Astronomi-con is coming up and wouldn't mind getting some practice games in so a few friends and myself will be there Saturday and sunday with astro missions.
Dan's gone? I had no idea. Otherwise, agree with you, re: GW Yonge & Lawrence staff. Dan was an intolerable stickler half the time, but Chris has always been a cool dude, and while I've only met Brandon (or is it Curtis? Forget which one) once, he seemed to be okay as well.
Also, for those interested, I'll be heading out to Meeplemart this Sunday to play a friend. If anyone is interested in also getting a game in, then that'll be fine. If anyone here is playing Infinity, then I've just started, and am always interested in getting some learning games in.

Just joined DakkaDakka. You can consider me as someone "new" to the gaming aspect of the hobby and 6th edition 40k. I started taking an interest in GW miniatures back in 2010 and have been on and off painting miniatures and I never really got into seriously playing the game.
About a year ago I chose CSM Death Guard as a my first real and dedicated army to paint and play, but I've been too busy to finish painting them. It's been a very slow but gradual process and I would like to try them out in a real game possibly to help motivate me into getting them done. During that time. I also made myself a complete but shabby homemade modular board and I have some finished terrain from Pegasus Hobbies to go with it.
The gaming stores I've visited were the old Cross Swords, Dueling Grounds and Heavy Support Games. I haven't been to any of the other places mentioned due to the distance but I may be able to visit other stores around the GTA.
I've never actually been able to play a "real game" of 40k and I would like someone here to show me the ropes if you don't mind playing against unpainted armies. I have around 2500 points of both Chaos Space Marines and Daemons with another 500 still being assembled. Other than that I have a planned but not yet started possible Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) or Female Space Marine Chapter (Non-GW models) army I would like to get done as well.
Like optimusprime, I live right within spitting distance of Friendly Troll if you ever want to get a game in.

Hey Toronto-area 40k-ers, I was wondering how strict you guys are with your army point values?
Say you were playing a 1000 point game, and you actually had 1003 points, or 1008, would your opponents generally accept it?
If there is a margin, what is acceptable?

Like the posters above in a frriendly game I don't mind so much, as long as it's only a few points. 15 points and should should get rid of that extra special weapon however.

Sorry, unfortunately I've already have some plans for this weekend. But I should definitely be free the weekend after this to play. Hopefully by then, I'll be able to finish painting at least 500 points of my army and have more time to get comfortable with the rules.

Alright, so would anyone be interested in playing a introductory 500 point game against my chaos daemons? We can play a much larger game up to maybe 2500 points but the rest of my models aren't fully painted yet and I'd like to start off small and simple.
Locations (from closest to farthest): Dueling Grounds, Meeplemart (Spadina), Heavy Support Games, GW store (Yonge and Lawrence) or the Friendly Troll
Time: I'll be free anytime during this Friday, or Weekend (no expected plans so far)
Extra Terrain: I can bring a 6 feet by 4 feet homemade modular board (first one I made) and some terrain
Other Games: I have an EDH Magic The Gathering deck I use very rarely (like once a year with friends an occasion)
Photos/Media: With your permission, I would also like possibly take photos or even a video of just game/board and miniatures with a cheap camera for private use (or public with your permission of course)
As I said before, this will be my first time playing a "real" game (rather then me just shuffling 1 or 2 models around), so I may get some of the rules wrong and I'm pretty sure I won't be remembering every single specific detail etc. That being said, I'd prefer if we could play at Dueling Grounds if I am bringing my modular board, but I'm willing to travel farther.

I'm free on friday from 12pm onward if you want to do some intro games, though I wouldn't worry too much about being fully painted since most people you will meet in this hobby won't be fully painted either. I know I will probably never have a fully painted army since I keep adding to the ones I have now and really don't have the time/skill/patience to paint up all my models . We can meet at dueling grounds since that is closest to you, and I will be down in that area anyways in the morning. Though i doubt you need to bring a table/terrain with you, most stores have multiple tables and shelves full of terrain to use. Let me know?

Great! I'll be heading to Dueling Grounds then on Friday by 12 pm then. I called the store and they gave a Greenlight for using their tables on Friday (since they regularly allow Warhammer on Saturdays). There should be table space.
If anyone else is interested in coming down or joining us, we can play a few games or even a combinations of games.
I'll bring my board and some terrain since I actually haven't had a chance to play or even set it up before, but we don't have to use it though.

Thanks for the Game at Dueling Grounds, despite the heat/stuffiness down in the game room, my lack of knowledge with most of the rules, and getting my butt kicked horribly in both games, it was really enjoyable. I apologize about the cursing/swearing due to the hilarious and unexpected rolls. I did not expect my 1 plague champion with a power fist to hold off that entire squad of Eldar bikes for 2 turns by himself, winning the challenge and then cleaning them up with a sweeping advance. That was... Awesome.
Next time I probably won't be lugging around my modular board, its just too heavy.
Thanks again for the game. Hope to play you again. Cheers!
