I was waiting on something before making plans, but I'm pretty sure it's not happening now so I was going to head over to Legends now.
I have, literaly, nothing to do today, so if anyone else shows up I'm up for more games. Otherwise, I'm staying away from home so I have no excuse not to start glueing.

Well, with everything that was "wrong" with that game, I don't think I've ever had more fun getting tabled. Although it is odd that the figurative disintegration of the army was matched by a literal disintegration of my models. Granted, I haven't played chaos in a while, but has anyone had their models literally fall apart en mass when you pick them up?

I have when I used GW's garbage glue on my Grey Knight Terminators. They would just implode in my hand when moving them from the case to the table.

A lot of my early chaos models were assembled using that really bad batch of GW plastic glue. Just crystalized into garbage instead of welding the plastic. At least once a game, I'll pick something up and and arm or a horn will pop off like it was held there with rock candy.
I should be at meeplemart today(sunday) if anyone wants to try some aforementioned heralds of ruin killteam games.

Questions: are Forgeworld models and rules permitted in friendly games? Tournaments? Are they official 40K? I don't want to buy any if I will never be able to use them. Also, same question for Escalation stuff and the stuff outlined in the book with all of the fortifications and force fields? If I buy a super heavy model from Escalation, will I ever be able to use it and it's rules? Thanks guys.

Ahh, a fun/loaded question... lol, as it stands right now a lot of forge world models have been allowed into regular 40k games. When it comes to friendly games it always depends on your opponent what is acceptable and what isn't, since anyone can easily just refuse to play against an army that they don't want to. As for tournaments, it is 100% up to the TO (tournament organizer) what they will/won't allow. As for escalation/stronghold units it's pretty much the same thing, they are officially allowed but friendly games might see a lot of people saying "no" to facing a super heavy since they tend to be game breaking and (personal opinion) pretty boring to play against. Someone else will have to comment on the major tournie scene, but for the smaller ones i've been too so far, escalation/stronghold have been 100% banned, and forge world models are on a model by model ruling whether they are allowed or not.
Now for my personal experience so far against super heavies, i've faced 2 imperial titans with D ranged weapons that I found to be very boring games. 1 game against an orc stompa with normal weapons and D melee weapons that was kind of fun but it never made it into melee with anything I had on the table. 1 Defence laser/bastion set up with D ranged weapons that was pretty boring, and a baneblade with normal ranged weapons that was alright to play against, but difficult to kill with the army I brought.

If the superheavy has a D strength ranged weapon or apocalypse sized blasts I'd prefer not to play against it. Personally, I'm just not a fan of auto kills at range or blasts that big. But then again, I'm not a big fan of crazy deathstars or suped up ally combos. That said, as long as the blasts aren't apoc sized and or have str D ranged, I'm definately game to try fighting against a titan or other superheavy, as long as the points value is big and I know in advance.

Thanks guys.. I was contemplating getting some stuff... I have been playing with someone who has been using Forge World stuff, and I didn't really know anything about the stuff, aside from that fact that he was bringing 4 flyers and each was cheaper than a loaded dark elder skimmer!!!.... and I was tired of having the game always turn upon the arrival of the sky dancing, 30+ shot (with re rolls), strafing models. After losing some close games due to these stupid flyers, I realized that they were actually from Forge World... the guy was saying that he was going to bring a Super Heavy tank to play, and I figured that it would likely just eat through my Dark Eldar army in one or two turns, and dark matter would do little to stop it, especially given its 9 Hull Points :(

So, instead of not play, why not play, let your opponent use what he wants to use and have fun with it, but then you gain a free rule. What ever gets destroyed by D weapons, they come back, go into reserves or ongoing reserves. They get killed for a 2nd time, then on a 4+ they come back again.
Simple rules we should be able to accept if we want to use weapons that are not balanced at all. If your opponent can't agree to that, then you are correct, no game then.

Simple rules we should be able to accept if we want to use weapons that are not balanced at all. If your opponent can't agree to that, then you are correct, no game then.
It's just a personal preference and we seem to be saying the same thing. Rather than add a houe rule, my caveat would be, 'can you equip it with no D str ranged or apoc sized blasts?'. I'm all about the beer and pretzels mentality, but if I have no super heavies, I'd like to keep as much Apoc stuff out or a 'regular' game as possible while still letting you play what you have.. I've played people's tournament lists with army books and models I bought the previous day and had a blast, but I know the kind of game I like and like to make sure both myself and my opponent have fun. If he's really looking to try something new, that's fine. But some things are designed to be played with other things and if someone asks me if I'd play against their Titan, I'd prefer to play against it if there's no str D ranged weapons or appocalypse style blasts. If you wan to bring your knight, go nuts. If you want to bring a warlord Titan, that's a bit much for me. A smaller Titan, sure, I'll try it. A buddy of mine says he has a dark Eldar Titan and I'm hounding him to build more of his regular guys so we can have a big enough game that I'm comfortable to fight it without an super heavies of my own. I keep picking up random eldar models from used/sale bins whenever i head to a new store. And i don't see how it's my fault you used gw glue and are now paying the price with all your models exploding into pieces from the slightest breeze hitting them.

Prepare yourselves for the onslaught men. The enemy is waiting, but your Officers are courageous and your bayonettes sharp! I have at my disposal an entire army of Muskokans, tens of thousands of armour and artillery supporting millions upon tens of millions of the Imperium's finest fighting men with courage in their bellies, fire in their hearts and lasguns in their hands. Sorry Rythem, something came up this weekend and I'm not going to be available this sunday. How's next Sunday for you? Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, go find a few more models. I have a 5500 and 6000 point army, if you're still available next weekend. :p

Yeah, my Wyches would be a good start, but the number of troop units are limited, but I like trying for the Hail Mary! . Just curious, when does the FOC open up to allow extra heavy and elite and troop selections? Over 2000 points?
