at least mojang can hide behind it being a (comparatively) small company, with very humble origins.

Are those iron bars in the nether hub necessary? They seem to just get in the way when trying to head into the Western tunnel, and so manage to cut off a quarter of the hub for movement. Yes you can go around them, but its added hassle.
Ah, also. The portals themselves seem to produce some lag due to just how large they are. A point that may not be an issue on most system, but any lag at all around the central hub of the system could be annoying.
Just change the dimension of the portal. As long as there's enough space for the player to move through I think the portal can be any size (up to an extent).

*Bitch, moan, gripe.
I can't speak for lag (although I guess there could be client side lag due to transparency calculations?) - but I am also not a fan of the "four portals in a cube" layout. It's very pretty, but rather impractical.
It's disorientating enough for some players to figure out which side of a two sided portal they are leaving, let alone an eight sided one.
Also for those trying to move non-player entities through portals, if they end up hitting one of the other three portals it can lead to a very frustrating time.
the Minecraft wiki includes these images alongside the date September 2013. but doesn't indicate whether its already been updated with the new shapes or whether it will be in a future update. We'll just have to test it and see if it works. If not, then I think we can assume its WIP.
Do players really have a problem with your direction coming out of a portal?
The iron bars are of course unnecessary, but they look nice. I suppose people have to complain about something right?

I *think* (don't quote me) that those iron bars are from when I was building the Nether Tunnels at a time before the hub grew to it's current size. If they are from that, people are free to take them down as they aren't needed any more

about 20 chickens lay eggs that possibility hatch then gets fried when its old enough AUTOMATICLY!, then is collected for consumption.
That causes lag....
For the whole server?...
I suppose I better do something about my 500+ chicken battery farm...
It only causes lag if it's infinitely generating chickens (or any entities - i.e. similarly infinitely generating villager farms). So if your 500+ chicken farm is a static amount that does not change (i.e. eggs are taken to a separate pool or storage), then that's fine.
However, if you're hatching eggs into the same pool that you're collecting eggs from (i.e. exponentially increasing numbers), then that's bad.
If and when I find people doing the latter, I clear it away and do not leave a single chicken or egg behind. You have been warned

When I visit the farm I tend to collect the eggs and store them in chests...Or for gaks and giggles I try to kill chickens by throwing their own eggs at them. But I don't go to the farm every time I'm in the area so sometimes the egss are left to hatch. I wasn't aware that eggs hatch on their own so next time I'm online I'll slaughter half of my chickens.
Its more for XP than anything else. Animal breeding farms are an xp gold mine.

I have several hundred eggs stored in chests...

They don't. I'm talking about using dispensers to hatch them (or manually doing it).
Na, I don't do that. Its literally just a big pen with far too many chickens crammed inside. Whenever I want xp, I grab a few stacks of seeds and walk through the pen forcefeeding them all. Don't tell PETA or I'll never hear the end of it.
The population is getting quite silly though so I'm logging in now to carry out a cull.

I also clear chests
You'll have to go on an egg hunt then. They're hidden all over Jericho. Easter has come early!

This is what my cow pen looks like...

Hey guys I found a clandestine work bench and chest hidden near my iron golem farm... Now I have no problem with people going in and taking a load of iron! honestlyI have so much now I could build a huge metal monster but I won't by hey no problem with living with throwing away half spent picks . But back on topic could whoever placed them let me know who they are and their intentions they may even be allowed to live in my village till they have a more permanent base... Ta
Ps love the work on the nether tunnels if anyone wants a hand or needs materials let me know!

gue'la aux commander reporting for the greater good shas'o
Had managed to connect my portal to yours in the nether, then forgot to write down my coordinates. it was a suicide chest as i had a bed set at the location.
Also does anyone have the coordinates for the sacred mountain? i managed to lose my self again... :/
Desubot, just keep going north in the Nether for Sacred Mountain. Follow signs for Sleitusmithr's stuff.
Cantium, I still need a few materials to finish the northern Nether tunnel, if you fancy helping. There's a chest where the north tunnel meets the hub.
Err no i mean im lost in some woods again and do not have access to the nether. or the hub (im riding a horse :() so i need the coordinates to run her back.
