Plants are different than animals- animals are Entities, and have AI and positional information and all sorts of stuff like that, but plants just have occasional tics to check for growth. They're essentially blocks, just a little fancy.
I prefer chicken and butchers, myself.
Speaking of which, I probably ought to get on and do a selling spree- I be the chest has filled up a little by now. Would anybody have any objections to me pulling the Butchers out of the central pen?

help yourself, all it takes is a flip of a switch to replace them.
Also, anyone know what happened to LordBean's place? The room with all the valuable loot looks like it has been blown up by several kegs of dynamite (since it destroyed cobblestone) and several rooms seem to have caught fire.

That is an impressive farm, I don't think it will lag the server.

It depends on whether someone had claimed ownership of the place before said damage occurred (and if so, it would be helpful if said person knew a date and time when this room was last intact).
man those maps are no joke, I have 2 cartographers in my tower and the first map took me to 5968, 64, 9468. I of course claim the building here and feel sorry for anyone who's maps lead them to a discovered place.

on the other I think I should pull out all the torches so people can farm it for the life dolls. I went through lighting it up and got 4 so they're a fairly common drop. I plan to carry one every time I use my elytra
The 'life dolls' are dropped by the Warlock dudes, I think- so if more of those guys spawn, then you can farm them. But I'm not sure the Illagers respawn.

It might be worth it to take the nether tunnels to the furthest portal and start from there. It could save 1/2 the trip at least, because we know none of the mansions will be spawning in the 4k map area.

Nope, they don't respawn, which is annoying as I just finished a lovely tunnel out to the place.

each Cartographers will sell the exact same map to everyone who buys from him. If it's been explored you'll see the explored area on the map you bought, so that could save you a trip. So if you buy a forestery map, you might as well kill the cartographer off.
Also it seems if 2 people have the same map, both maps will show 2 player dots, and all maps will update no matter who explores the area.

I am now at 1500 in the Great Tunnel. That is an 11 block diameter circular tunnel, 1500 blocks long. Right now, with an obsidian-bedded rail line going the whole length.
The end is right at a Cave Spider grinder I built for recharging my Mending tools, and I'm usually filling about 10 or so chest carts of cobble and stone each mining trip.

I've not been on in months. :( Working is kicking me hard... and I have my PhD to finish by the end of March at latest! I will get back to it. Might be a while though.
I am currently doing a solo direwolf pack run. Thought about getting a server up for the current one, but so many bugs currently!
I will get on if people need access to more diamond armor back at my place. I know I am one of the few people on the server to have ready access to non-enchanted equipment for a reasonable fee.
I think I've hit the object ceiling currently in my area and have been extremely busy with game making and programming, If people need me to contribute to any community project I can be on to help with that.
Also new update looks interesting, but I remember I tried looking for a elecktra and I couldn't find any place that wasn't raided already. I think I've just made a farm to try and complete the last structures in my keep. (looking for Andensite, I have a place to farm for it, but Its soo slow compared to mods its kind of funny).

I see that Minecraft One One One One has now been released. Unfortunately, I'm now on my Christmas travels and won't be able to update the server until after Christmas. I should be able to update it before the New Year however.

yep, I still am. you get so much gold already, I don't see the point in hauling out a smelting system and fuel just for a few more nuggets.
I'm not saving them, I'd need a bigger storage hall than what I built at the guardian farm. But why waste the time cooking swords for nuggets when you have nuggets raining down on you, with a few bonus ingots.
next time you catch me in either game just ask and I'll let you into the gold farm and show you why I don't want to collect the swords
better yet, I'll go lock the door open for a while so everyone can use it, I'll leave it open for January so everyone can get and gold or xp they want.
For those that don't know where it is, take the west tunnel tto sirralphs place, take the bridge, admire the mural, go up the stairs to the first platform and look for the switch, turn it on and go up the ladder, stand on the iron grate, shoot any pigman other than mrs piggy, profit, more profit by trading the zombie meat for emeralds.
please turn it off before you leave, it can break when it chunk loads/unloads.
