and boys... it has everything inside... spinning wheel, armies attacking and rockets and laser beams ... you ask for it ... it has it yesterday...

i had thought of spectators... but i dunno how and which minis would fit... beside... you need many more to make it look right... so if i have 10 combatants inside... then i need many more for audience... i think that would blow up the amount of work no end...

at rawson...

atm i am going for dios rather than actual terrain as i am building more for the heck of it... no one will play with me anyways for the time being... so i can at least create some kind of small world to let my minis people it...if that makes sense...

looking for a group wouldn´t work atm due to RL issues...work and family...etc...

Damn that work and family thing getting in the way of our fun! it always does that! even when you lock yourself away in a Nerd cave, they just bang the bloody door in to interrupt you!

lol... yep... tho my kids just scream^^... daddy... wanna toilet...and such things... or you have to get out of the mancave bubble and try to pry them from each others throats^^ they are aged 6 and 4 and quite talented brawlers^^

OH boy!!! awfully wuiet around this place, eh?

well then i can hopefully spark some life in this thread with a new update?? hope so!

well... for the third terrain building competition of the ongoing LoER scratchbuilding incentive i today present to you my recent endeavors into scratch building and oh yeah even painting...

becuase i not only have to build a fighting pit... no... i will people it with combatants that have to battle it out to the death... and for that i have to do customized bases... again also for a compitition started by unearthly child and comrade panda... and then for nerdfest i have to paint up a leader for his tube winning competition... sounds like a bloddy hard job...? and rightly so!!! am sweating like a bear... no kidding only, but it sure is a challenging amount of work...


as you see here...i have build the major look of the ten bases that will enter the base designing comp...
well they are atm unpainted... so bear with me the lack of contrast.... maybe i get around and give them a wash tomorrow for a better look...




then i have started painting the combatants... two teams... six against four...i used mainly washes for the build up of paint coats... hopefully that was a wise decision...

the first team consist completly of female fighters... dressed in tight suits... and with a dashing green and purple combo...WIP :






and secondly... the blue team... consisting of battle robots... also still highly WIP...:






an then i had to redo from scratch the whole arena set up... the former thing was way too puny looking for me... and i don´t do puny... i do enormous...

so i started on a fresh wooden plate and built up from there... leading to this:





and to see the scale:






still lots to do but i have lots of fun and still a bit of sick at home leftover time at my disposal so i hope in the comming two days i can achieve quite a lot of the groundworks...

i think it could serve as a paygound for some very quick skirmish games... but it is only a mere diorama... i am still not a player... so i just do it for the fun... and i need so much training painting minis^^

my my, Vik a nice ambitious terrian feat! i wish it luck.

Arena has changed shaped I kind of liked the curved section, however with the type of miniatures you are using this ties in better with the style.

Is it me or has the X-MEN conversation influenced your colour choice on said females Im like the comic outfit feel there Vik

at LDD... i wanted to do some mostly wash painted minis for a long time... thus i experimented with leviatan purple and my old citadel green wash... i like the mix... do you think if i add a bit of orange to the females that would be too much?

and well the curved try is not ruined... its just way too feeble for this idea... if i put the ten minis inside it looks as if they are waiting cramped together for the next bus thus it got redone... beside... the curved section would have been a hell of a troublemaker for getting the upper audience section done... now with the more blocky version i look more comfy into the future...

at comrade... have you looked at the bases? i am very unsure as to the rather dull look... i have to maybe add some effects there... tho i am unsure as to what to add...if i add rivets to the tiles then i have to do that on the complete floor...

Hold of on the orange I think, but if you have time for a trial on one might work just to get an idea.

Yes, I see your point on the curve section bitch to work with, but it was cool the new section looks good, I see a lot of clean steel sections now though more a futuristic theme.
