The original idea that I had, was: The perceived as useless tissues would be replace by the controlling apparatus, but the environment that had shaped them so drastically, would have made it so that their survival instincts would have been focused beyond that of most humans. The ironic point being, that this common prejudice would have led to the loss of an advantage for the imperial guard in more advance regions, as they "improved' them with clunky remote controls while removing parts of the brain that would have helped them with advanced, smelling, hearing, and/or other senses.

to explain what you are about to behold...let me tell you that i am a fan of everything made from leonardo da vinci!
he is (for what i am concerned the very first riveteer...)... thus i have made a monument to honor his work...(also i had got me this handy plywood kit of the vitruvian man...)

so... behold...the leagues monument for leonardo da vinci...:





ah... so you are interested in more facts to this monument? well... probably somthing concerning the scale of that item? i hope this groupshot of a certain band of inquisitors will help you with said issue...(note...there is a fellow in the front row without a head.. this will get fixed once i recieve my order of bits and kits soon... he will be a battle priest...)

Excellent diorama vik , love the inquisitor and retinue.

As for the vitruvian man I think this is obviously been mistaken for the Rivet-true-vian Man made by Legionnaire Da Vik, circa M35(or however old you are, I forget), and it is a prized relic of ancient days even before the adeptus mechanicus came to this world. Your inquisitor is obviously ensuring that none have defiled it.

i couldn´t agree more... bloody long... too long...
half lead, half gold...hmm.... i had earlier on thought about making it look rusty and so on... but i also thought that this would be a very heretical state to have such a monument in... the league would be honorbound to look after it and keep it well maintained after all... (by the way... half lead and half gold...i think there is a referrence there i don´t get... care to enlighten me? i think this would be a great scheme also...as the contrast of silvery metal to the warm gold would look very good!)

I may be wrong, but Da Vinci was rumoured to have made a machine to turn lead into gold. He was trying for bronze but got it wrong. Would be suitably apt, was my thinking.

at cam... i think that was the plotline of the movie hudson hawk... with bruce willis if you remember?... yeah i think that could be a good scheme for the monument!

Maybe the 40k economy is like Star Trek - there is no need for currency, all citizens of the Imperium work for love / fear of the God Emperor (and the Inquisition...), Orks (Klingons) have no idea about money they just fight for ownership of goods, Space Elves, both good and bad, (Vulcan / Romulan) are too far evovled / aloof for the need of money, Necrons (Borg) are a collective and share everything because they can't think for themselves, etc...

The L on the standard is particularly fantastic, and Who better than you to design the banner for a talented bunch of rivetheads. I haven't laid down a single rivet in my life...<cry> ...one of these days I learn the true joys of it..
