well I did the basic work with a "puffy" paint... I think a thin additional layer of GS might even follow to get the more identifiable details right... also...you think a weapon strap would work as a belt for the pants?

Weapon strap, sure. Also, IIRC the guard sprues had like canteens and knives and stuff on them. Those bits would help 'sell' the conversion. But I haven't seen those sprues in 10 years.

Are those handles on the roofs?

The thorns...hmm, they would look more like thorns if you connected them with something vine-like. IMHO.

the "handles on the roofs are supposed to be used for transporting the outhouses via cranes and lorries...like RL...you need to have means to grab the outhouses...

the pouches and canteens... do you mean to put them on the pants/belt to be lying almost on the floor then...hmmm....interesting idea...

as to the thorns, well I never thought about plant life as the mimics origin... the idea is that the mimic looks ALMOST like the real outhouse but is a demonic live form...which origin I have not properly thought through...I will give this some thought tho!...

I think a belt or thin strip of green stuff. Many tutorials online basically roll it out on an olive oil surface, smooth it with a large flat object. Wait 45 mins, instant strips. Can also use it to make inverse rivets using a pen.
