Torchlight 2. Nothing says "HULK SMASH" like a bloody explosive hammer from the Engineer. I had him named Lord Garithos after one of the most badass racists in Warcraft 3.

Just finished Deus Ex Human Revolution, so while it isn't done downloading yet, I guess that means I'm playing Strike Suit Zero (unless its garbage). Yay for steam summer action

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. God I love this game.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown, where I am getting to grips with the systems and am now using laser weapons. Starting in the area where I get 30% extra cash each month has really helped. I'm just getting a little stumped at the moment as I keep killing the outsiders, not stunning and capturing them.

Dead Space 3. Originally was impressed by the advertised fact that you could make your own weapons, but as it turns out I cannot make a double plasma cutter that fires both at the same time, I'm less impressed. Still, it does mean I spend less time reloading as I can run the top one down, then fire the second until it's empty, then reload both at the same time.

I have two of those in my squad. Problem is that I habitually keep all the squad on Overwatch and use the last guy to activate to open doors. So they generally get blown away by 2 precision lasers, 2 heavy lasers, and a light plasma rifle before I can get anyone near enough to use an arc thrower. And it's only going to get harder as I move up to the other plasma weaponry. I suppose I really ought to research the better armours first though.

Fully scout the area out before breaching. If he's the only living alien your toughest guy should survive a shot if they have cover. Suppression is nice too sometimes they stand still

You can't use run and gun and an arc thrower iirc.

Only seen a couple so far, and they have been inside a sealed room on a ship. Might get lucky sometime fairly soon. Going to have to give it a rest for a couple of weeks as I'm going home for 2 weeks and it's not worth taking the PC with me. So will have to wait until I get back.

Not unless something changes it at higher levels, Run and gun only lets you fire, it doesn't allow the use of items, of which the Arc Thrower is one.

You cannot, thus my edited addition.

Get 2 Assault with Lightning Reflexes near the door to end the turn.
Start the next turn with them moving in (NO OVERWATCH!) and stunning it - Lightning reflexes should make it survivable even if another alien is in there.
The second makes it almost impossible to fail as the odds are usually pretty good.

Also, move right up to the thing - ignore the chance of that soldier dying, it's for a good cause!

Finished Far Cry 3 finally. It had a good ending, and one of the best soundtracks ("Flight of the Valkyries" in he helicopter scene ).

I started Gears of War 2 last night. I played the first years ago when it was first released, and a friend let me borrow GoW 2/3 recently. It's as fun as I remember the first one being....but I didn't remember all these giant monsters! Kinda reminds me of the enemies from Resistance: Fall of Man.

I recently started playing mass effect. I've never played any of them before and it is extremely enjoyable. I feel like i've been deprived my whole life.

Back to Skyrim. Trying out a pure magic user. Never done that before in any ES games.

Also playing Rome: Total War, getting myself pumped up for Rome II coming out in a month.

I think pure caster would be more fun in oblivion with the custom magic, I was getting pretty bored with it in skyrim. Maybe you like it though!

Gotta say, strike suit zero has just enough missiles. There could be more, but it definitely gives you that robotech armored veritech or large ship unloading huge payloads of missiles feel.

My PC definately couldn't handle that. haha, I can't even run the cut scenes in world of warcraft.

It's challenging as hell, especially against other casters. I'm used to just running in, and smashing them to death. I feel my damage progression is a lot slower as well.

Yeah, I think damage is the problem, it does a set amount based on the spell and your perks, instead of scaling with you as you level. Still, it is probably still easier than the illusion/conjuration only pacifist who only lets others do the fighting

Mods are the only way I'd play a pure caster. PsiKotic's necromancy mod is especially fun.

Just had a quick blast of Tomb Raider, got it free with my new GFX card, pretty nice game need to play more of it.

Main game atm is Assassins Creed 3, yes its mostly the same as the others but I wanna know what happens in the story. Damn Ubisoft and their Uplay and cliffhangers >.> The two biggest things I hate about em.

I started playing ES games on the Xbox, it's the only way I can play them now. The PC just drives me nuts. I may eventually get an xbox controller that plugs into the PC, that may get me over that hump.

Aw man, Elder Scroll games are boss, computer or console. I first started playing Morrowind on original xbox- I think that game's probably the one thats most Caster Friendly, since there's such a huge variety of spells, and the spell-creation system (as well as Enchanting and Potions making) were so much more robust. Also, they weren't tied to specific locations, so if you absolutely had to, you could do an emergency enchant or brew up a fresh batch of healing potions out in the wilderness. Plus, Flight. Nothing quite like Levitating above a group of enemies and sending a stream of Frost or Fire down on them from your enchanted gauntlets.

Finished Mass Effect 2. It was awesome... even if I sadly lost Kasumi and Samara during the last mission. Everyone else survived though. Admittedly the giant thingy at the end was a bit of stupid end boss, but whatever the rest of it was nigh on perfect.

Onto ME3...

Picked up Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon White for $30 total last night, so I'll be starting those soon.

It'll give me something to play when my girlfriend hijacks my TV to play EverQuest 2
