I enjoyed Splinter cell conviction quite a bit, it's the only (stealth) game where you could get spotted and actually work it to your advantage, instead of just save-scumming (*cough*Dishonored*cough*).

Those later enemies that shared your sonar 'ping' ability can go jump off a bridge though. Absolute nightmare, albeit a deft example of turning the player expectations on their head (similar to the guys that'd blow up the Gargoyles in Arkham Asylum).

Okay so a bit more now.
"Blacklist" is to "Conviction" what "Conviction" was to "Chaos Theory".

It takes the things you love about the franchise and improves upon them--in a huge way.
Mark and Execute is a huge step up now, with the "Killing in Motion" aspect they've been touting. It is so much more useful and the fact that you can use it as the opening move in dealing with a huge pack of enemies is great.
The new mission system is very Mass Effect-y, with you choosing to take side missions before doing the main mission. You get a lot more leeway during the missions as well when you 'capture' people as part of the plotline. Execute them or spare them--it's your call.

The fact that the game is no longer split into "Run and Gun" or "Knock everyone out" is a huge plus. There are three playstyles you get graded upon--Ghost, Panther, and Assault.
Ghost is kill noone, leave no evidence you were ever there.
Panther is kill or knock out--it doesn't matter. It's the stealthy assault way of doing things.
Assault is self-explanatory. Pew pew pew!

Is the co-op campaign split-screen? I may get it eventually if that's the case.

I can now answer this with a "Yes". I had not been paying attention to the coop earlier, but I did notice the split-screen option.

Just finished Red Faction Armageddon. God that was awful. Picked it up when it was on sale on steam. Wished I'd have waited a couple of days and got Just Cause 2 instead. Meh.

It wasn't that it was linear, really. I found the aliens really boring to fight (and there was either aliens or cultists, hardly a variety of enemies), the fact that they jumped around constantly - to make them more challenging I suppose? - irritating after a while. And it was cavern after cavern of tedium. The first game had varied enough environments that it managed to make Mars interesting, even though it was linear. The story wasn't particularly bad per se, I just didn't care for the characters. And I felt bad for not caring. There's a point in the game where one of them dies, and I just like "pffff"

Finishing up Tomb raider revamp, liking it so far. Not the QTE moments.

The only gripe i have is that the game is too Uncharted (even the online is like uncharted), the tomb puzzles were way to easy. And the detection system was off.

And those progammers must realy hate Lara, those death scenes were nasty.

I agree, I'm not a huge fan of QTE's, but some of them were well placed in my opinion. And thank you! I solved all of those hiddden tomb "puzzles" in a minute or two. Kind of disappointed. Didn't care for the online.

Overall, I think it was very well done, and honestly perfered it to Uncharted.

I haven't played Armageddon yet because it had no multiplayer, something that disappointed me because the multiplayer in Guerrilla was so good - it was one of the most balanced games I've played.

Armored Core Project Phantasma.

AC was pretty fun, it was nice to get to unlock the 4-ish different plus upgrades and find all of the secret parts. Such things seem a bit op/unfair/dishonorable in ACPP, at least until you get into the teens in arena ranking where almost everyone has at least one plus upgrade or strong weapon from the first game. Still, going to run out of arena and the missions are going to be trivial (even if I make myself run them with joke builds like sword only or nothing but missiles etc) which leaves only AC Master of the Arena before I need something to play.

Any retro suggestions for when I'm done getting my giant robot fix (if thats even possible)?

Here's one that's not so retro-

M.A.V., by Bombdog Studios.

You remember Chromehounds? Well, this is the spiritual successor to it. It's in early Alpha right now, so you can buy in (much like Minecraft) for cheap, and it's improving every month, if not every week. Kinda hard to find multiplayer matches right now, due to only having a few hundred users so far, but as things pick up...

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

M.A.V.- if you liked ChromeHounds, drop by the site and give it a go. Or check out my M.A.V. Oneshots videos on YouTube!

Hrm.. That *is* fairly interesting. If the video is what they're calling alpha, it has quite some potential. I would be interested in the storymode more than the multiplayer (not enough time to devote to getting good enough to not get frustrated ), but that looks kinda neat. I'll have to keep it in mind.

I must say, I prefer a tad bit more mecha in my giant robot. Those look more like walking tanks or battle tech, however, still may be worth considering, thanks

Yeah, they're not quite humanoid- but that allows for a lot more customization and variation in what you see on the field.

Not sure which video you watched- There's also "Friday Night Fights" on youTube that have some of the most current patches included, as well as (if you go back) the older builds- you can see how much the game has progressed.

The trailer that is the only video on the page to which your sig links.

I don't necessarily dislike more reasonable giant robot games, I quite liked earthsiege 2 way back in the day, I just get more excited about giant robots that can also fly and have laser swords and *more missiles than god(tm).

When its not this late, I may have to check out the gameplay videos on the youtube, it still looks like a pretty fun giant robot piloting experience

I still haven't seen you (Soladrin) on MWO at all, ever. And I have no idea how deliberate group ups work.

The whole "You're not in the game when you're not in a sortie" thing is kinda screwy to me.

Good luck with that. My Siren is only Lv 32. But the character I am running with my bro is the Psycho, whom I acquired during the steam summer sale for $2.5

I beat Sleeping Dogs a while ago. I think that game has a lot going for it. It has a good setting, gameplay, controls and premise but actually the story is not that good and despite everything that hurt it.
