Got back into X-com, after burning myself out on it. Never really bothered to look at the changes "Enemies Within" did to the game.

Holy Hell does it make a great game even better. Tons of fun.

Hitting SWTOR hard again on account of early access to player housing for subscribers. I have 3 houses now (one Imp, one Pub, and one Neutral) and I must say, decoration is a bloody time sink. On the bright side, the fact that all of the flashpoints and ops drop unique decorations has made it really darn easy to get a pug using group finder!

I picked up Enemy Within for XCOM as it was one sale, and installed the Long War mod.

The mod changes a lot of things, for the better, but there's still one thing that pisses me off; Terror Missions.

There's a few reasons for this; 1) Chrysalids, 2)Chrysalids, 3)Chrysalids and 4)Chrysalids using their free activation movement to run right at you.

There's also the matter of how slowed the civilian AI is, and how they usually start clustered together on the far side of the map surrounded by chrysalids.

I also got two terror missions in a row in Mexico, which was kind of annoying, as now I can't get the Air and Space bonus, though Long War has the ability to reclaim lost countries; they're kind of mum on the mechanic, but it's probably tied to a research level and so on.

Haven't seen the Long War mod...sounds like a winner.

Also, feth Chrysalids. feth them all. I forget which perk it is, but having overwatch snipers with two shots makes terror missions comically easy.

Aye, but in Long War, Chrysalids can't be overwatched - 90% dodge chance.

I also just faced my first Exalt mission.

27 fething dudes. 27. And their rocket launcher always managed to direct hit at least two of my guys, scoring 9+ damage, killing them instantly, while mine is lucky to even hit the general area I'm aiming at.

I'm on attempt #12 before I just said feth it, I'll come back to this later. I usually don't save-scum, but this is slowed.

The only reply I can muster is NOPE.

I have been dicking about on metal gear ground zeros knocked out and extracted a bunch of guards via chopper. Tempted to see if I can extract and entire base worth of guards just for gaks and giggles.

Way to limited for a £20 game but I borrowed it from a friend. It does make me hopefull for mgs5 though as the mechanics and core gameplay are solid and would work better with larger more free levels, if that is what they end up being.

I've been on this recently as well!

Had vanilla for ages, but the expansions really do add a lot. I'm definitely enjoying it more.

Mate dont play as England, build up your spy, buy a police station and a constabulary, and then put your elite super agent on special operations in your capital.

Every turn you get bombarded by apologetic leaders after he kills their spies, it really slows the game down.

Seriously my spy has killed more people than Malaria!

I've been playing as Austria recently, I like the idea of being able to buy city-states... Not tried it yet though.

I'll see how it goes!

I'm considering getting Planetside 2. Any way to play the multiplayer parts offline? (Like in TF2 with bots)

If it's not possible, are there any games that do have that sort of thing?

Nope. Planetside2 is essentially an MMO- no 'single-player' of any kind.

Loadout is a fun little TPS that's going to be getting a new campaign soon, and is also free.

Not so much perfection, but completing everything. The side quests, the tertiary quests, finding all of the appropriate gear for my character and companions; which is hard because the gear selection for the game is terrible.

Ahh makes sense. I have been meaning to replay it. My hard drive corrupted when I got to the final boss which pissed me up enough to just read the ending based on the choices I made. I love the game but at the time had no desire to reply it right away just to do huge last few mins differently

Huh...the site doesn't like me.

Man, that sucks about the HD, had that happen a few years ago and lost several long running 4x strategy games I'd had saved. Almost went nuclear over it.

Speaking of Dragon Age, are there any mods out there that anyone uses? Specifically equipment related as the drops in the game SUCK.

There's a Dragon Age nexus site, I'd check that out. I can't remember the ones I used on my last playthrough, except the Skip the Fade mod, because thrice is enough for that gakfest.

Behind you

Started replaying Dayz Standalone. Much fun! especially with roleplaying. I got captured by a group, got handcuffed and searched, but then had the chance to escape.

Then got incapped by a couple of bad zombie spawns and broke my leg.

War thunder, which is a whole lot of fun. Nailed 8 kills with my B-25 bomber last night. Hilarious how many people will just try and sit still behind a bomber to try and take it out, then you hit the cockpit.

still doing a little Spelunky, got to Olmec, but sadly didn't have bombs or gloves/jetpack, so I got down to 3 down and then got splattered. Still, it's been my highest score and my best level. Also, Anibus 1 was trapped in between 2 idols, and died instantly....Only a few characters I need now.

Time- and creditsink!

I've dived into SWTOR again as well; the new housing is quite fun and more customisable than I had expected. For the time being I'm ignoring personal houses and instead investing everything into my guild's headquarters. It's starting to look nicely.

Spoiler:
The lounge - abusing the decorations vendor NPC you get as a receptionist.
Spoiler:
A bunch of sith-themed trophy holos as a sort of "gallery" to line the main corridor.
Spoiler:
I really like that you can place your vehicles and pets as decorations! Makes for a nice garage with everyone's vehicle of choice.
Spoiler:
Also, I managed to score one of the three small rooms on the 2nd floor as a personal apartment. *successkid* Nice view on the cityscape of the Imperial capital, too!

Crafting decorations is a mess, though. The standard prefabs are no big deal, but the universal ones are a pita to farm the materials for, given that it involves several steps ("we heard you like crafting, so we've made it so you have to craft before you can craft").
