Tried using my new 38(t) in WoT tonight. On my other account I loved the thing, on this one... It's pretty much the stock model, with a low-end tier 2 gun, a turning speed that'd be jealous of a snail, a traverse that tortoises turn their noses up at, and an actual speed and acceleration that most of the tier 1 light tanks would laugh at. Combined with sod-all armour and only a 310m view range, and the fact that the 38(t) (not to be confused with the tier 4 38(t) nA) is not counted as a scout by the matchmaker, you'd think I'd see mostly tier 2/3 or tier 3 battle, wouldn't you? You'd be dead wrong. I've yet to see a tier 3 fight, never mind a Tier 2/3. All of them thus far have been 3/4 or 4/5, and in the last one, I was the sole tier 3 tank in the match, with the majority being tier 5. Even the SPGs were faster than me, and I had the worst view and signal range of any tank there. I was, for all intents and purposes, and complete and utter handicap. This tank is fun to run in tier 3 games, or 3/4 when it gets its better gun, but right now... I can't scout, I can't snipe, I can't arty/TD hunt, I can't do anything except act as target saturation and try not to die very quickly when doing so. I'd be less annoyed if I was put in these games after I've put on track, engine, gun, and radio upgrades, but to shove a stock T3 against majority T5s when the T3 doesn't even have the potential to scout...

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

What makes you think it was the game? There were a lot of reported bugs for Inquisition, none of which reportedly made PS4's almost explode. If I were you I would get my console checked instead. Overheating laser is caused by a faulty laser, not buggy code in a game.
Also, I still think it is down to hardware and age also, as I had only a few minor dialog bugs, and my PS4 is only two months old. Corypheus not animating is a new one for me; never heard anyone complain about him yet.
As an aside, as someone with friends in the industry, I challenge anyone outside of it to make a 'finished' open world game as many would call it; even in simple games you can't catch everything and when you make such a complicated system that becomes harder to do.
Also, though not in response to you directly, I find the term 'story mode' used in reference to Skyrim in the quote above cute.

Is that because you had a summoned creature? Just wait for it to die or switch to the necromancer and kill it and then it will complete.
If your laser is overheating to the point its destroying your ps4 you might wanna get the PS4 replaced as its more likley to be the hardware than the game, it will obviously be in warranty.

The Arden assault would be nice if it came as a free/ cheaper expansion pack. I would also have really liked to see a bit more varied sort of missions, and designe of the campagin map. Also I would not mind seeing some heavier allied armour than the Shermans, seeing how they really come up sort when you have to deal with x amounts of tiger aces, panthers, Jagd panzers and assult guns.
I thought about grabbing it, but $40 seemed a bit steep for the time being.
As for heavier allied armor... it's the US, after all. The Sherman was the heaviest tank available to US forces at the time.
Pretty much this. The Pershing had only just started production, never mind entered active service anywhere, so the M4 was the heaviest tank that the Americans had available to them. They had at least one Sherman Jumbo--named 'Cobra King'--that was hailed as being instrumental in breaking the siege of Bastogne, but since only ~250 Jumbos were actually produced (compared to the nearly 500 King Tigers), and a fair amount would have been either destroyed or be out of commission by the time of the Battle of the Bulge, it probably wasn't worth putting them in the game.
I know this, and I realize they propably wanted to make the game as close to the historic facts. But still. From a gaming point of view, I would have really, really liked either a Pershing or a Jumbos to help break the deadlock, as of now I have to relye on AT guns and the far to expsensive M36 Jackson or M10 Wolverine

Sounds like you got that copy of DA:I that had the super buggy 'break machines by forcing the working parts to do things they shouldn't do' edition. I'm with you, it sounds like a game that governs no aspect of how the physical parts operate is DEFINITELY causing the problem.
Anyhow, speaking of Skyrim, I fired up some old saves on the 360 and I realized that playing on anything other than Master seems to easy to me now...sadly. Because starting a new game you almost always have to go the bound weapons route in order to deal with ANYTHING you have to fight.

It wasn't due to summons. It was due to companions bugging out because of reasons.
And I know it's not the PS4 that has issues. It was the first thing I had checked.

I finished xcom: enemy within's campaign yesterday and now don't really have a set game i want to play next. I was planning to play some 'Wargame' until i saw an ongoing chat in that game. Sometimes online chat for some games needs to be disabled. Seriously popularity, lack of depth, sheer violence instead of plot and other factors can make for some really nasty communities for games. It's sad as i've known some decent ones in the past. Nobody can expect to play halo or counter strike or similar without hearing something offensive. Makes me not want to play those games.

Have you considered the Long War mod? I haven't tried it myself, but it looks interesting.
Every class has a subclass, there are new weapons (SMGs, Sawn Off Shotguns, couple of machine gun variants), and there are supposed to be more enemies and XCOM soldiers on the map.
Started a new game of Bioshock. I've forgotten how much better it is than Infinite. It actually has gameplay and atmosphere.

For me right now impossible difficulty is enough. I am finding though that the nano fibre vest helps a bit. Not sure if i'll try to use gene mods more. The health regeneration and auto bleed out ones could be helpful for early on though i can't remember what you have to autopsy to get it (berserker possibly? as i'm pretty sure chrysallid was the stealth detection).
Right now i'm unsure if i want to play xenonauts.
Also strangely enough both 'mordheim: city of the damned' and 'galactic civilization 3' got updated. Gal civ 3 got the Yor faction and mordheim got Sisters of Sigmar and some gear choices. When my steam updates finish i'll be sure to check them out.

Divinity 2. It reminds me a lot of Risen, but with a better enemy curve (its still no Skyrim however). What I'd do for a first person mode...
Having played the prequels it'd be nice if there was another game in the series which went into just how the world goes from being Steampunk to High Fantasy. Its gone into a bit in the background lore, but given that I CBA reading any of the in game books (which aren't very good anyway), having actual NPCs go on about it would be cool. I'm meaning how massive airships, mecha, tanks, guns, etc, were replaced by swords and sorcery. That and where the elves went, and how the undead, imps and goblins became generic mindless (and in the later case tribalistic and malformed) enemies (the undead in Dragon Commander were the religious faction, imps the best technicians and goblins the best pilots in the world).
So yeah, a decent enough game of what I've played so far (I think I'm about a third of the way through), but its giving me a hankering for Skyrim. Damn, I said I wouldn't go back to that game. ...Maybe now's the time (que spending a week downloading all the mods).

I did the same when I first played it, but Dragon Commander was an all right game so I went back to it. This time around I went for melee instead and its actually playable. It seems that the game really wants you to be melee, with the option of supplementing it with some ranged attacks. I just ignore all the other classes and go pure warrior however. I mean I could add some ranged attacks, but pretty soon on you can unlock a rush attack which allows you to close with any ranged enemies, so there's no point in putting any stats into non melee attacks. The same goes for healing. Why waste magic on that when it could be going to buffing melee attacks, instead I just have a massive passive regenerating health rate. =P
But yup, no Skyrim. I mean that's similar in that you can't get away using a bow in close combat, but they were still viable for picking off some targets at range and you had to contend with dragons. That and you could backtrack and fire as you moved. I think there was a mod where you could just throw your axe at a guy though...

You can take down an enemy to a hit away from death then they'll pull out a healing spell and be back up at full. With later enemies some can do this multiple times.

Risen has got to be one of the worst games in the history of gaming.

I thought the start of Risen was fine, till around about the bit after the swamps. The difficulty curve was just silly (I'd hate to think what it'd be like if I had gone to the swamps before grinding it through the town first). Had they sorted out that it seemed not too horrible (admittedly I did eventually just stick on god mode and run about the map). I have the second one in my Steam library, but I've not heard good things about it. If the difficulty was dealt with maybe I'd consider it.
Eugh, what's with devs who think that the only way players can beat an area is luring away one enemy at a time and wailing on them, rinse and repeat for the other fifty? Sends them at me in clumps and let me go all power fantasy on them. If you want your game to be realistic then how about sort out the combat system and don't have such spongey enemies (I did play Skyrim with the damage at something like five-ten times the regular settings...).

I've been playing more and more of Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. I'm some 30 hours further in than my initial impressions and I'm liking it more and more.
The biggest flaw is probably that it could stand to be more challenging. The combat system actually seems like it has the a surprising amount of room for depth, but they don't really explore this much. When the enemies have more abilities and the AI blunders it's way into using them in an effective fashion it's engaging. It's really odd that so many just spam basic attacks or use the abilities they do have in nonsensical ways.
The side quests may feel very back-tracky for some, but I found it to be a nice change of space. It's probably just a product of its time but it's actually kind of nice to go back and forth through the same areas, looking for things that aren't marked on the map. It gives sense of space that often feels lacking these days.
I suppose those are relatively minor nitpicks as it does well to avoid common jRPG pitfalls like random encounters and grinding. In terms of presentation I can't really call it much more than competent even considering the age of the original release (2004). However because it's stylized and colorful it has aged fairly well, it feels simple but not ugly.
I honestly can't pick out any one thing about it as exceptional but it somehow feels like more than the sum of its parts. I think the tone goes a long way with me. I found myself stopping at points being just kind of amazed at how many characters are being reasonable, helpful or just plain decent. I think it serves to underscore how tired I am of crapsack worlds, or games where every authority figure is a hard-headed obstacle to overcome. Nobody's angst is the front and center of the story, or even their own character arc. At the same time it is not so saccharine that every conflict is the result of some convoluted misunderstanding.
If you want to play an oldish-school jRPG about big-eyed anime teenagers out on an adventure you could do far worse. I also have to say for being one of the folks who grumbles about female characters in games in general,I think this game does more right than wrong particularly with the game's lead. Hell I even like her character design, which is something that happens for me even less.

Isn't Risen the series of games which offers you skills which may never be of use to you at all, whilst offering no refunds for points put into skills?

Currently getting back into World of Tanks. Been out of it for some years as I didn't have internet at the place I rent until recently, qand I'm finding my performance is very .... variable.
Some matches I can take out 2 other players, others I die without even seing the enemy that took me out. I really need to get a better handle on the different upgrades as it doesn't always seem that the next gun to research is actually better than the one I used to have.
I'm also not convinced as to which type of gun is better, should I take the rapid firing type or the bigger one that takes longer to reload?

It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
