I loaded up Dungeon Siege III, but I dunno not sure that's something I'm really feeling. Do feel like picking something up to play occasionally since I've typically got less to do in the winter but meh. Maybe I load the NWN back up and finish that.

I'm still trying to juggle my spare time between Dragon Age and Elite. I thought I'd be done with the former by the time ED releases, but DA3 is a bit bigger than I anticipated. Not that that's a bad thing, just unexpected after DA2. This one seems to be longer than even Origins. And already I know I can't wait for the inevitable DLCs. Lots of new world background in it as well, which will surely be of use for my Dragon Age P&P group! And Green Ronin has already announced a "Faces of Thedas" supplement for it, too!

Several other games on my list - Mordheim, the new update for Shadowrun Online, and I wanted to take a look back at MWO now that Community Warfare has launched and the Draconis Combine needs my support, but I just can't find the game.

Eh, better to have a few games on the backburner than not knowing what to play, I guess.

I've never played TERA if that's what you are talking about.
Pretty sure our resident MRA was referring to Mel.

Meet me on the battlefield....on mordheim. Pistols at dawn d**n it!!!

But yeah i know he was talking about her. I just wasn't sure whether he was talking about the TERA game or 'The Witcher'.

Also honestly lynata both sides of that argument bug me but for some reason i find FRA people more annoying. Sorry man. You're still a cool guy when you don't go on about that stuff. Just gotta remember there's more to life than being offended about everything. I mean take 'deus ex: human revolution' for instance. We both love that game. I dunno how frequently women were portrayed in it. That's not to say it's trying to be sexist. Perhaps it was made by more guy writers or they wanted to appeal to a certain audience. It's not like they seriously wanted to stick it to women and flip them off while doing so. I mean perhaps the bigger issue is you need more female writers to write female leads. I often see people write with a style that reflects their personality or themselves. All that said i'm seriously going way off topic.

--------

Anyway i've mostly been doing well at 'xcom: enemy within'. I suppose it's the only game i'm absolutely fantastic at currently. If only i could get better at warhammer fantasy. Perhaps my faction just really needs an update, i need new models and i need to play more frequently to come up with better strategies. Currently almost always losing is very frustrating. I'm starting to see all the contempt 'sisters of battle' players have.

You might also be surprised that I enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever and was one of the few people defending it after its release.

I would have greatly preferred Guild Wars 2, myself, but the rest of the group didn't want to at the time because it cost money to get in to even if it had no monthly.

I would also have been okay with Champions or DCU Online, as well...

I'm actually rather curious though about the game 'Farcry 3: Blood Dragon'. It seems like everything duke nukem forever was not and minus sexual stuff.

I'm fairly surprised when women want to play games like duke nukem forever, grand theft auto and 'the witcher'. I'm not saying girls aren't allowed but rather those games seem to not target them. It's like if i was to play 'sparkly the last vampire' where i got to decorate a vampire and then date him. It just feels a little off.

I actually was waiting for that game before it was even greenlit on steam. Man you must be so lucky. It's only like 3 USD last i checked. I think it gets repetitive after the first 10 times or so.

I got it for a dollar.

I started to make some fun fanfiction with it.. I think I might put some of my friends into really stupid situations. I put my ex and an old friend of mine into it and one of her friends. And they all got killed by piranhias.

Next I started taking some Dakknauts and putting them into funny situations. I took LordHats, Alpharius and Darknnit and they survived until a dragon killed them all. O.o

They aren't the only ones, but you can make some funny fanfiction with it.

Damn this game got random but it was awesome.

I did that too. But Personally Would you should of done is found a realtively nearby guy to help fix your laptop. I mean hard drives die on rare occassions. But if they do it might still be in a warranty ever since it was this fall. If they say no, then say the hard drive failed. AS long as your in good spirit and talk about it to them and tell them when or how the issue occurred it might of been a hardware failure from the manufacturer.

My laptop is meant as a word processor and as a sub-par game platformer.

But my Render computer is meant to render lots of animations and 3d models. But it is nowhere near as good as the computers at my school.

It's still under warrenty, so I sent it into sent 2 days ago (supposed to be 7-10 days but that doesn't factor in the holidays). The good news is that they will also fix the case (it's a bit bent and cracked because somebody sat on it).

I'm kind of used to it by now and i don't even think i'm as good at it as i used to be. I'm rather surprised how much nano-fiber vests help early on. It's fairly useful vs sectoids. That said once you meet up against thin men it's usually pretty irrelevant and you may want to stick to grenades and such. Starting play-style is also somewhat dependent on the continent bonus you start with. Going with the europe bonus i tend to throw down plenty of workshops and labs, whereas with south america autopsies and interrogations speed up research and give decent gene mods super fast and with asia the officer training school and foundry bonuses are just beyond useful.

I can't do second wave options. Impossible difficulty is hard enough on it's own. A 2 panic level country will full panic if you don't help them during an abduction. It's pretty freaking lame.

I won't lie i am kind of bummed you have to wait for a country to want to buy some gear before being able to sell your plasma weapons. I just wish i could capture aliens all day and sell their gear just as frequently. It gets easier and easier. Mimetic skin on fast moving scouts is a definite must as an arc thrower carrier. It also helps to have flashbangs, gas grenades or snipers with disabling shot to slow down and disarm enemies, make them shoot terribly or just make them easier to capture. I've also found out gas grenades don't work on chrysallids, thin men or dudes that even originally came equipped with a med kit. I remember flashbangs being ridiculously effective vs EXALT though. For the aliens gas usually seems more effective since you can use it on their psychics. That said they must have crazy will because even with gas grenades, combat stims and every other freaking thing if an ethereal or sectoid commander wants in they're gonna get it usually.

Man that game seems to have gained so many new things with the expansion. I may have to pick it up some time. Don't have enough time/patience to devote to the harder difficulties, but all of the new toys sound kind of fun.

If you use anti-psychic gene mods on the final battle with the ethereals you're in for a real treat. You can usually curb stomp them pretty easily even on impossible difficulty.

I beat Valkyria Chronicles (surprisingly short), it was an interesting game. It had some nice ideas but it felt really unfinished. I will say I'm happy to get an ending in game that actually provides some damn closure for once. With so much sequel baiting and half-baked non conclusions it's to finish a game and not feel like I was left hanging.

I just grabbed that on steam, it was $5 off (my excuse ). I think every should should head on over to the steam page just to see the video. The music and visuals are really funny at some points when you have massive war being fought with some beautiful tranquil music to accompany it.

Both metro redux and metro redux last light were on sale (The sale has like 24 hours left if anybody is interested), so I nabbed those as well. I really enjoyed metro 2033, but I haven't played last light yet. AI and graphical, and gameplay improvements can only do good to the most immerse game I think I have ever played.

You could do that in the old games; the market in that game was much bigger. If you had something, you can sell it.
In fact, you could break the economy of the game by making cheap laser rifles, and selling them for something like $10,000
It gets even sillier later on, when you have a stock of plasma weapons.

I honestly wouldn't mind in some cases. Even if i could only sell plasma rifles for about 50-100 dollars a pop i'd probably do it. Currently in game i have about 10 heavy plasmas (give or take a couple) and only built one. I'm wishing so hard a country will just come in to buy the heavy plasma weapons. I don't even care if built plasma weapons can be sold for more than a weapon tied to a stunned alien or vice versa. I just want some freaking cash. That said in the game at the moment money is a non-issue but sometimes that's not the case. It helps a ton getting the council requests done for stuff though. Just as long as early on they give me money, engineers or scientists and later on just stick with money because at that point scientists and engineers are a non-issue. I mean some good money helps a ton for buying the higher end stuff because even with most of the council nations you're not getting that much money with them.

As I've decided to put together some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. minis (need to find a way of having a link to that thread in my sig somehow) I've gone back to the Misery mod for Call of Pripyat. I played the original version of it, but now they're on their 2.0 release. What does that entail? Why adding in a gak ton of items and making the mod even more of a nightmare than it was the first time around (...I mean making a game that's already considered difficult even worse).

Heh, so I spawned in the arse of nowhere next to a pack of boards and died immediately. Try again. Next time a cat killed me. One more time? Ok we made it to the safe zone (dodging mutant pigs and dogs on the way) just an emission hit (a random event which kills everything on the map unless they're in cover. ...not something which should happen as soon as you spawn anyway). So I made it that far and actually had a go at playing the game, and yup its definitely living up to its title in comparison to how hard things were last time I tried it.

Now I'm up and running a bit (ditching the Mosin-Nagant for an AK-74 with red dot site) it seems all right. I've already experienced an earlier version of the mod, so know what to expect. However things were a lot more lenient then, so this is a big step up in terms of difficulty as well as complexity (the aforementioned bazillion items, all of which you're expected to know the use of otherwise expect to either miss out on something or die randomly from not drinking enough coffee). Given the amount of time I've put into the mod so far I'd expect to be further along if I were just playing the vanilla game, but nope, that's time spent with my character coughing up a lung (the stamina meter's a real pain) or spending half an hour slinking about in a loft taking pot shots at some bandits.

I'll stick with it though, and it certainly beats replaying the same game I've completed a dozen times already. Lost Alpha looked interesting, but all the downloads I can find of it are broken unfortunately. Actually going back and playing the series again has given me an incite on where to take things on the model front at least, so I'll probably be having a go at sculpting up some of the Stalker outfits after I've finished the existing batch of crap (the crashed Hinds in the game are a better reference for the one I'm making than trying to sift through news articles on the war in Ukraine for references).

Ugh xenonauts is kicking my ***. I just came back into the last mission after putting it on hiatus. That game is tough esp. the last mission. Have fun getting reapers (basically chrysallids) coming up your butt while you try fighting off enemies to the front as well as eventually trying to assassinate the alien leader. Ugh it's so ridiculously hard. It's like they ramped the difficulty up to 11.
