Old World Blues was good.

In other runs, I've always prioritised picking up the protonic inversion axe from the VR chamber in that DLC. The PIA is a beast, durable, and can be repaired with the common-as-dirt regular protonic axes--which themselves aren't too bad--that lobotomites get. Also, Christine's COS Sniper Rifle. That combination is rather bloody good; pick stuff off easily from a distance with the sniper, and pull out the PIA for those "OH SHI-" moments or bashing roboscorpions to death.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I would esp. since petroglyph but they've never been able to balance 3 factions since the oldest command and conquer back when they were westwood. They always make one faction super unique and super OP. I'm gonna take a wild guess that it's the goo this time around.

More importantly i don't think my computer is up to spec to run this game.

-----

In other news 'endless legend' is on sale currently and i will definitely buy that one. If i can i will also get grey goo but it's looking unlikely esp. due to minimum requirements.

-----

Been playing more xcom: enemy within on impossible ironman. I've been having a bad run of going engineers first. I thought i could cover some nations better that way esp. if i held out for south america for super quick autopsies. Turns out autopsies are nothing if you get enough scientists. It's really annoying the balance you have to have with everything. You need heavies and experienced soldiers to unlock the officer training school, you need the alien containment facility, you need enough engineers or else you can't get satellites, workshops for more engineers or make any of the nice weapons you need (or the skeleton key for that matter). Admittedly i've been neglecting gene mods but if i remember they're expensive (at least early on) and need lots of autopsies to work well enough.

Then there's the really bad luck i've been having today with the game. Perhaps i'm being more reckless but i missed two shots in a row while flanking an enemy and he killed two of my guys in full cover one after the other. I was speechless over the BS that was.

Anyway i'm tired for now of xcom. Maybe i'll paint some skaven or perhaps build more of them. At least that's more calming.

Its just one little DC but yeah... some of the DLC makes the game *even more* hilarious

I don't think the main story mode has guns, and the power armor is specific to a DLC, but yeah some of the DLC stuff is preety good. Thor's hammer, the counter strike knife, all kinds of references and gags.

Hell, it's even got the yetis from freeski Or was it ski free? Been a few years.

The power armour has quite a few perks, including immunity to lawsuits.

And yeah, the guns are restricted to the equally hilarious Vietnam DLC pack. Worth it though!

Yeah, it's a fun game Lots of cool nicknacks, and the challenge maps are actually kind of challenging (at least for me!).

I've been slowly playing through Jaws of Hakkon, the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC.

It's kinda sad, really. - I was playing the game on my old pc, it being barely playable, but I was utterly gripped by it and the story. Now I have a new PC, the game looks and plays gloriously. But, I can't really be bothered with it now, the DLC's storyline is just well, dull. I'm really hoping there's a plot twist to make it interesting but I don't even know when I'm going to struggle through there to make it interesting.

I've been jumping into Batman: Arkham City at times too. Played it through when it came out, completed it, but lost my saves and I've been slowly playing through it again.

I'm downloading Shadows of Mordor now, which is taking well, nearly a day far. - 45gb is a bit crazy, even for modern day games. I really hope this isn't because it's some terribly optimised console bluray port ala Assassins Creed or Force Unleashed...

Basically, I'm biding time waiting for The Goddamn Batman to come out.

Did the others claim vengeance!?

So.. I still think I like fallout3 better than new vegas... but are the DLCs for new vegas worth playing? Looks like I can get the game of the year for 12 bucks on steam atm which isn't terrible. Maybe. It tells me I already have it but checking the DLC tab seems to confirm that I, in fact, do not. Yeah, it says i ahve fallout: new vegas and fallout: new vegas ultimate edition, but none of the DLC, curious. I guess I should reinstall and verify just to be sure..

Anyway, for 3.34 each.. are the main 4 DLCs worth it?

What about the courier's stash and gun runner's arsenal? Any use?

Right-click Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition and click the DLC tab. Should list all DLC. DLC is VERY worth it. And mods of course. Get them!

Couriers Stash is just all of the pre-order bonuses; they aren't that impressive.
GRA is awesome though. You get new unique weapons and special ammo, such as incendiary rounds and 40mm plasma grenades.
That's right, your grenade launcher can now shoot plasma.

Old World Blues: I did not like the tone of this one at first, but once I was able to write it off as the eccentricities of a malfunctioning AI rather than turning the world into a joke, I liked it. I really like the quest reward for completing its main quest, if you download a mod to
Spoiler:
let your companions come with you when you use the Transportalponder to travel between New Vegas and this new player home.

Dead Money: I have one very particular complaint about this DLC, and if I knew there was a mod to fix that complaint well, I'd certainly play it again. As is, I quit halfway through because
Spoiler:
I want to bring one of the companions back to New Vegas with me, but I know you can't
.

Really, that's my biggest complaint about the Fallout DLC. Skyrim did a good job of integrating the DLC worlds into the main world, so that you can stop part way through the DLC questline to go do something else, or have your companions from one travel with you when you go do another. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, on the other hand, force you to play things through to the end. If you go do Dead Money, you have to finish Dead Money before you can return to New Vegas.

That... can sometimes happen. Dark indeed.

My poor little vault scientist is having no remorse from her kills, although she isn't engaging targets as actively as some of my other characters have been known to. Going to max out science, medicine, and repair before bothering with combat skills... working out so far. That little eyebot ED-E or w/e is pretty freaking useful.

Oh, thanks for the advice about the DLC guys, broke down and bought them all (sans the one with the caravan pack etc, already had the caravan pack and didn't care for the others originally sooo..).

Don't worry it's worth it. TBH, the only DLC that I felt was lackluster was honest hearts, and I still loved the characters anyway.

Yeah, from the premise of Honest Hearts I thought it was going to be about escorting the caravan across a long, thin map leading to the city of Zion. A short, fat map with no city
Spoiler:
and the rest of the caravan being murdered in the opening minutes
isn't what I was hoping for.

I dug back in my library and picked up Skyrim again. It's really interesting to pick up a game after the mod community has had years to spruce it up, vs the original vanilla experience. I've been having a lot more fun with it this time around than I did back at release.

Same old xcom: enemy within in impossible ironman difficulty and just like before getting owned just as bad. I hate how any failed missions can be pretty much near lose game status in council nation withdrawal by only the end of month 2. I basically had laser weaponry and everything was cool but a lost mission or two. Meh things were going downhill hard anyway. It's just sad that if panicking nations wasn't such an issue i could totally have just dealt with upgrading my weapons and equipment as i always handled alien ship crashes ok.

New Vegas with tons of mods. The game still is so AWESOME after all the years and with NMCs Texture Pack it still looks pretty good. Deadly Wasteland is amazing, adding over 100 additional areas into the game. Level 13 now and still haven't been to The Strip, neither did I start any DLC

Crypt of the Necrodancer. If you haven't heard of it, it's the lovechild of Nethack and DDR. It's a turnbased roguelike where the turns have to be played in time with the beat of the music. I haven't got the DDR mat out yet, but it's still good fun.
