Beat Act 2-2 of the skaven campaign in mordheim. I nearly lost due to an idiotic mistake on my part. While disabling most of the traps I sent my assassin lord with nearly no health to dispatch some guy with a great weapon. His attack was either dodged or something and I got hit for some nasty damage as a counter attack and it stunned him instantly. Nobody was nearby and he was low on health. Thankfully I was going to finish that mission on that very turn. Considering how ridiculously long that mission took and just how many chaos guys I killed I am so glad I didn't lose that mission due to a stupid mistake at the last second. I have to remember never to do something so stupid again.
Things are going well in the game my guys are almost all max level with just about all skill points spent on skills, gear is almost all top quality or very close and I even have a decent amount of enchanted stuff whether bought, found (in chests or dead enemies) or given as a reward.
My assassin leader is so maxed out he can basically reliably critically hit an enemy in 1-2 hits which is just how many hits he has in a turn and generally how many it takes to stun them before I gang up on the enemy with the rest of my guys getting automatic hits and criticals to stack on top of the stunned enemy. That said he isn't tooled up to face an enemy that may have counter attacks left so I may need my bigger and meatier soldiers to handle that. That's usually what I do with my warp guards now.
I'm also handling wyrdstone requests super quickly now. I got the previous one finished with at least a good 10 days left to go. My current one has about 14-16 days left and I already have almost half the wyrdstone I need.
Rout checks are annoying sometimes. Sometimes they're helpful and allow you to grab the rest of the wyrdstone on the map and sometimes it's just obnoxious when you kill the enemy down to a guy (about 12 morale left of the 72 minimum before rout checks start being made).
Also in at least 2 games the maxed out poison (the one that debuffs strategy points) basically slowed down powerhouse melee fighters to about 3 strategy points a piece while I just destroyed the rest of them with ranged firepower or attacking in areas the now slow super fighter couldn't get to (which considering skaven means I could easily out-maneuver them).
Other than that my warband is pretty solid. Even the reserve soldiers I almost never use have just about all skill points used in something. Not too long from now i'll have more money than I know what to spend with.
I'm curious about having a super ambush heavy fighter so I'm building my off-duty night runner towards that route. Might be better if I make him a dagger wielding night runner now considering the boosted damage they get when ambushing.
Just to give an idea on where my warband stands I'm at about 3,000 points of rating right now and that doesn't include an impressive unit in the main roster.

I'm also impressed by the fact that it does epic set piece battles and scenes so well, not something I expected from a game with this much of an RPG element to it,
Just attacking the Geth battleship, and getting quite irked that my cryo ammo isn't working too well on the robots. How else am I supposed to freeze my enemies solid, smash them apart, and proclaim that I'm just breaking the ice?
The Geth battleship? Ooh, you're gonna love what happens later.
Have you played the first or second one yet?

Not yet, my plan is to play through this one (which I got as a) it was very cheap and b) I wanted something with a lot of single-player content as my Xbox is currently offline), and then grab the other two and do a complete playthrough with an imported character, hopefully before Andromeda comes out next year.
Haven't been this hooked on a game in quite some time. The biggest draw I'm finding, other than the freedom character/narrative-wise, is how fleshed out the setting and aesthetic is. It really feels to me like playing through a high-budget sci-fi movie.

Seriously though, I really recommend playing through the entire series, since some things that happen in the first and second game can affect parts of the story. The first game is a bit... weird with the gameplay (you will dread hearing the words "Mako," and "drive," in the same sentence), but all three are good at establishing the setting and all three have that narrative freedom that ME3 has.

Watched Silent Hill: Revelation last night and actually quite enjoyed it. Now I want to play the game it was adapted from, Silent Hill 3. Is it any good on PC?
I never got a PS2 (went with Xbox instead) and back when I was still playing PS1 I was too young to play Silent Hill, so I have never played any Silent Hill games.

While I've never played it myself, try to avoid the HD collection. It comes with both Silent Hill 2 and 3, it was panned heavily by fans of the games. They changed a lot, which kind of ruins the experience.
That being said, there is a PC version of the game, just not a recent one.

I remember the controls for Silent Hill 2 were pretty good. It uses tank controls though, so if you've played any of the old Resident Evil games, it's quite similar. As for if it would work, I don't really know. It does mention it's for Windows 2000 and XP though, so it might depend on what kind of PC you have.
Also, dear lord! 6 pounds for the game! The second Silent Hill here costs over 200$!

Looks like someone needs to do some inspirational reading: BOATMURDERED
"I take a look at the maps, and sure enough, this outpost is stuck out in the middle of nowhere, smack in the Smooth Points of Pride. "Boatmurdered" they call it, a name which doesn't bode well for much of fething anything."
Or..

Picked up Black Ops I & II for $20 on Black Friday, thinking I never played II and wanted to try it. Turns out I never finished the original either.
Tried popping both in the Xbox 1. Apparently neither are backwards compatible? WTF? I mean really?
Anyway, I had forgotten how much I loved the flavor of Black Ops, and how much I hated the game play. I don't think I've been murdered that many times in a FPS since Golden Eye.
I'm finding II far better. Wasn't expecting the multiple mission ending options.

I am really not the Call of Duty kind of person, so it is rather odd, but Black Ops has a special place in my heart. Back in the day when my brother had yet to move out of the house, he used to play it and I observed. Memories. I was only 14 at the time.

Amnesia. The Dark Descent if gameplay is most important, A Machine for Pigs if story is most important.
