Anything DX12 will be a nice benchmark.

As for me, finally going through my Steam catalogue, figured I'll finish Banner Saga now.

Remembering how much it pisses me off when I miss an 88% in xcom 2 and a similarly high chance shot 80+ and a 90% missing. I missed quite a lot of shots and my guys panicked way more than usual this game. Seriously I'm wondering why they are panicking so much. It's only commander difficulty and I don't remember them panicking as much all the previous games. In one mission I was one move away from hacking a terminal with a specialist (support) and they just panicked when a squadmate died and they couldn't even see them. I don't even understand that one. I was about to win the mission too. All poor shots, bad luck and bad placement aside I managed to keep the others alive. They were all gravely wounded though I think.

Currently everything is pretty good. Everything is up to tier 2 weaponry with the exception of grenade launcher. I even have plasma grenades now with advanced explosives being worked on. Considering how early I'm getting this out of the way it should have a ridiculously potent effect on my enemies. The advanced warfare center has also helped considerably. I'm thinking of seeing if I can get a mission lead or something very soon as a hack reward and trying as much as possible to get it so I can shut down the new alien base in south Africa. Most thing are going well though aside from avatar progress recently bumping up to 6 down from 3 just days or a week ago in the game's time. Right now what I really could use is money and then expanding quickly around the world. That's pretty much for sure what I will get done next as soon as this retaliation mission is finished (however that turns out). I have to go to bed though so that mission and the game plan with have to wait till tomorrow. Will be awesome to see improved grenades though. I'm already seeing the boost of tier 2 gremlins (bots). You can get them pretty early considering advents bots give that research. Only other bot that does that is sectopod.

It's driving me up the wall and, to be honest, I don't even think it's EA at fault... - I've done loads of various investigations and it all seems to come down to https://accounts.ea.com being inaccessible.

Which makes me think my router did something weird last night. - Yet I've restarted and factory reset the thing about a half dozen times tonight.

I'm really kinda out of ideas by now, aside from cross-my-fingers-and-hope-a-firmware-update-happens-overnight.

That that, is why I never liked that whole Origin thing. I guess the same could happen with steam but at least that usually works pretty well in offline mode.

I got a coupon as well - if anyone wants it, send me a message on steam!

I've bought Metro Last Light Redux yesterday, as it was only 5 bucks on Xbox, so I've played that for a couple of hours. I'm really enjoying it!

As for the whole Origin thing, I can log in fine, be it on Origin or Battlelog, on both my Xbox and PC.

Well, with Origin fixed last night, after leaving my modem unplugged for most of the day, I got to finish playing Dragon Age: Inquisition: Tresspasser.

Wow, I mean, I don't think I've thought so much about a particular game for a long while.

With the game finished now, it really does look like Bioware took everything that people said about Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 and addressed them perfectly. Trespasser finishes off The Inquisitor's story but then also outlines a path and hints for the next game.

It also seems a good example of DLC done right - it's an extra story that took 2 or 3 evenings to play through.

I'm definitely giving Trespasser 5 stars and Inquisition for that matter.

While I haven't played Bloodborne (still hoping that Steam, "leak," is true though) I appreciate its story much more, especially in the final fight. (MAJOR spoilers)
Spoiler:
I love how the fight with Gehrman plays out, especially now that I understand the context of the fight a bit better. I like to think that this fight isn't out of spite, nor as a good vs evil fight. When Gehrman offers to release you from the Hunter's Dream, he's offering to stay behind so you can be freed. Keep in mind, in parts of dialogue, one can tell he really doesn't want to be trapped in the nightmare anymore. If you refuse and kill him, then it will be you staying behind to free Gehrman. Because of this, the whole battle seems like one big, "after you," argument. The reason for this duel is not malice, but benevolence.

There's no good ending or bad ending, just an ending. Either Gehrman gets you out, or you get Gehrman out.
If this was what was intended, I can't think of too many games that set up a fight like this. Personally, I find it makes an already beautiful boss fight even more beautiful.

I think I'm getting the hang of xcom 2 now.

I may need to get battle scanners for the inevitable guys that patrol just under a cliff out of line of sight until you're right on top of them. Concealed rangers help a lot esp. in missions where you can't conceal with everybody and need scouts. I also really dig some of the hacking rewards. The ability to scan twice as fast for 4 weeks was something I didn't think was a big deal but sure enough if you fight and win missions frequently or just have a bunch of rewards lying around (from resistance contacts) yet to be scanned and claimed it halves the scanning times on them. I wish the rewards were less random but it is fun at times.

I hoped it would sate my want for Harvest Moon, but it just... doesn't. If anything, it's made me start pining for my Friends of Mineral Town game even more--which is bad, because it's only available now on the Wii U e-shop and not the 3DS one, and I'm not prepared to buy a Wii U solely for it, nor a 3DS that I can't get it on. Playing it, I feel like something's just off. There are two wires that aren't quite connecting, and it's stopping me from enjoying it like I should.

It might be the more Animal Crossing-y aspects it has; the idea of some sort of community of people and little quests to get mailed or find pinned on the noticeboard. To me it just makes things a little too involved. Having to juggle not just the farm, but also the townspeople is a layer of depth and complexity I find just that bit too much. It's nice to have people that actually feel like people, but the game's a bit needy about them all.

Harvest Moon lacked the town cohesion, and Animal Crossing lacked having to really devote yourself to tasks in order to progress, and individually that's fine. Putting them both together makes playing the game feel less like a fun, relaxing time, and a bit too much like a chore.

Extremely late to the Dark Souls party. They were not kidding when they said this game was hard! I suck at 3rd person combat at the best of times.

Really love the world and aesthetic, but beginning to wonder if it's not actually too hard for me? Been stuck in the undead burg for ages now! And got to the Taurus Demon and he just mulched me in no time at all.

Feeling like scum in The Elder Scrolls Online.

The ruins of the Imperial City is a multi alliance (i.e. enemy factions) zone. I joined a group and we made a run to the heart of the sewers. As we turned back, right outside the safe zone the group is sniped by an enemy faction. When you die to an enemy player in this area you lose most of your treasure.

...Meanwhile I was hiding under some stairs looting a chest, completely unaware till chat exploded with caps lock swearing.

Spoiler:

I ditched lockpicking the chest, it was glowing blue, and ran.

Only to discover an even larger enemy group (of the third faction) hiding around the corner we'd came around. Turns out they were following us.

I spammed speed and stealth boosts and well..

Spoiler:

And made it back to the base. As everyone else rage quit I got away with the loot. It seemed to perk people up when I apologized. Heh, that someone got away with loot cheered people up a bit. Just a shame to know that even had I got involved in that fight, we would have all been mopped up by an ambush.

Also I really enoyed the fact that the unit cards had been reowrked amongst other things, witch made the game feel way more immersive than any other addition to Atilla has done so far.

Well, Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow are now available on the 3DS virtual console, so I picked up Yellow, since it appears to be slightly different from the standard gen 1 formula. I used to play Leaf Green until the file got corrupted, so there's a bit of nostalgia to it too.an
EDIT: After playing it for a bit, I swear this is an Ash Ketchum simulator. Pikachu follows you around and everything. Nice touch.

Also, I think I found a decent strategy for Chaos in DoW Retribution. If I capture some strategic points and dump some dreadnoughts with Marks of Khorne on them, I can activate them when enemies show up. They're relatively durable, and with MoK activated, they can take on a group, so I can send my chaos hero after more control points. Only downsides are that they require a lot of micromanagement and organization so the wrong ones aren't activated (Khorne Dreadnoughts attack anything close, including allies), and if they run out of enemies to fight, in which case, they'll fight each other. May do some more field tests while I wait for the Overlord DLC.

Yeah, Yellow was released after the others- it was basically a re-hash of Red and Blue, but banking on the popularity of the Anime.

I liked yellow, the extra bit where you could check pikachus friendship and all that was fun.

About halfway through Pokemon light platinum so I took out the first elite four and champion and basically am starting over in a new region. Kind of a sucky gauntlet, didn't help that I was lazy and didn't do a final round of grinding to match lvl 70 on all of their dudes.

Not sure if new zone is gonna start at same level or if it will be low enough that I can bust out some new dudes.

Still really close to beating legend of heroes but I'm picky about when I play that one.
