Caved and got darkest dungeon. Good call guys. Fantastic. Just what I was looking for. Plays OK on tabtop, I keep the keyboard docked just in case but its 90% touch accessible. I think it's just the right click to see character sheets that I really need the keyboard for.

Really tense. Simple gameplay but the roguelike element is there, pushing your luck can end in disaster and even routine stiff can be disastrous.

I mean if I pick the attacks my three year old can play...not that I think the imagery is exactly appropriate.

Cool! Glad you like it. I love the atmosphere and theme of it more than anything mechanical.

Played some WoW, boosted a Death Knight to 90.

Just bought Terraria for £6.99 on Steam, and already finding it hugely, hugely more playable than the XBox 360 version, for one reason:

Mediumcore mode.

Suddenly the exploration aspect has returned, with you taking frightened, cautious steps into the dark, relying on every single artefact you find and carefully husbanding resources. Every mis-step could spell doom from a fall or breaking into a spider's nest. There's no "finding fifteen heart crystals and an uber-sword straight away" crap any more, and God only knows how I'll defeat the bosses... and I don't even want to think how terrifying the dungeon, the lava caves and hell itself are going to be...

Started picking up on a game called 7 Days to Die. It's kind of like Minecraft if there was an even higher focus on zombie survival (since it's a zombie survival sandbox game).
It can also be legitimately frightening at times too. I once had to raid a house to get some more supplies. When I got there, there were around 3 zombies shuffling around. I dashed past them, ran to the second floor and heard them walking up the steps. then I tried destroying the staircase, but by then it was too late. Jumped out the window and ran back to base. That night, as my character was hiding in his sleeping bag, groaning sounds could be heard from outside, and a loud banging could be heard. Turns out the zombies were punching through my shelter, and since I had no light sources near me, it was almost impossible to figure out where they were coming from. Cue unintended jumpscare and death with the zombie suddenly crashing through the wall.

Yeah, Darkest Dungeon was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I feel bad for my adventurers though. I got an entire party wiped out from heart attacks as they went mad fighting an indescribably horrible badness that they only had to fight because I fed a torch to a thing that literally said "feed me a torch if you want to die horrible deaths". Maybe I should have been cheeky and tried holy water

Nice to have a game that isn't afraid to kill your dudes!

Banner Saga 2 is due out shortly, and no doubt because of that the original Banner Saga is now heavily discounted on Steam. I grabbed it last night, and took a quick peek at it just now. Looks like it's got potential.

Also, both of the Darksiders games are available on Steam with a massive markdown. I own the first one, but I might pick up the second one.

Just been playing Blacklight Retribution on the PS4. It really, REALLY needs to sort out the hitboxes.

Picked up this game called Clive Barker's Undying. So far it looks like what would have happened if H.P. Lovecraft tried to write a ghost story. Not very frightening so far, but creepy enough to keep me on my toes.

I set up my garrison today in WoW. Hardly seen anyone to RP with while questing because of everything being phased, unfortunately :( Questing is fun, however.

I love the set up, with you being the recruiter for these parties that is sending them to face danger, knowingly.

And then it sort of forces you into these callous decisions - like eventually you're going to be short on cash and have a raving mad hero who needs treatment that is quite simply too expensive. Best to send him and a few other damaged and diseased wretches on a suicide run against a boss to gain some intel on how it fights, and the recruit some fresh meat who don't know what horrors they're getting themselves into...

I swear I had a whole 20 minute period there earlier when I was playing Battlefront remotely competently...

Admittedly, I spent most of the game inside a Chicken Walker, but it still counts!

Picked up 7 Days to Die. I found out that towns are not safe at night. After that moment of realization, I respawned in a snow land, found out there were bears, and died to radiation by leaving the laps boundaries.

My new (and current) character is holed up in a house in the middle of nowhere, and that's fine by me.

Woot! I picked it up too. Yeah, avoid being anywhere outside at night. The zombies get especially aggressive then. I had zombies tearing apart my entire shelter because of this.

That's one of those annoying things about 'supply drop' or 'kill streak' mechanics in games like that- sometimes someone's just plain better at using certain styles of gameplay- like being a very good Mech pilot, who's very skilled at tanking damage for teammates and using slow-reloading high-damage rounds effectively- but they're forced to do pennance as a ground-pounder to get to that point. Or there's limited resources for the 'nonstandard' combat styles, and you're stuck waiting while people who do it for the fun grab them up- even though you'd be a better tactical choice and take it more seriously.

Been playing Dark Souls 3 like mad since it came out, and I love it! The new Herald class seems to be pretty cool as well, a nice mix between fighty and healing right off the bat.

On Civ 5, and currently trying to manipulate the world nations into war with each other for my amusement. It's surprisingly fun to play evil puppet master with the world, especially when the pastime is taking over cities to sell them to other nations.

Finished Dead Space 3. Much more combat focused and a lot of annoying swarming choke points, but a good conclusion.

Don't like that I had to download a DLC to get the real ending.

I've been levelling up my hunter in Destiny last couple of days. Up to 28. Not tried pvp yet.

Yeah, it's brilliant. Frostfire Ridge's ending was very "300"

Dark Souls 3. It's great but goddamn is it tough

BFG: Armada beta at the moment.

Starting over on Dark Souls, but with the Pyromancer instead of the Bandit. It plays MUCH better in my opinion, especially with the addition of rechargeable ranged attacks. Cleared the Undead asylum in around 15 minutes, and hoping to fight through the Undead Burg next time I play.

Just finished first playthrough of Dark Souls 3. Man that last boss was a good fight.

Yeah the e3 gameplay looks pretty brutal. Dude rips a guy's arm off to use his hand for an I.D. Ya know any normally sane person (in reality) would probably just drag the corpse there (or the device to the coprse) but whatever. Doom is about ridiculous gore though.

Been playing a lot of Planetside 2 again for some reason, and just started playing War For the Overworld again.
