Just bought Life is strange in spring sale on psn. Really enjoying it. Certainly different from Shadows of Mordor that I was playing before that. I got a new Samsung 48 inch TV for my ps4 so been playing most of the day. The joys of 'working from home'.
Also played Destiny and I'm now level 39 but need to work on raising my light.

Yeah the e3 gameplay looks pretty brutal. Dude rips a guy's arm off to use his hand for an I.D. Ya know any normally sane person (in reality) would probably just drag the corpse there (or the device to the coprse) but whatever. Doom is about ridiculous gore though.
I can't wait for the single player to come out, but the multiplayer is essentially a generic FPS

Been playing Darkest Dungeon a bit in my scant time for games. I was starting to think it was a bit easier than suggested, but this was wrong thinking. Sending out adventurers with gear and skills up to their level against quests a level or two below (the lowest they would willingly do) yielded reasonable rewards and got me a bit overconfident. My team's first foray into a level 3 dungeon was against the necromancer (should *not* have chosen a boss for their first stab a higher tier content ) and the difficulty curve was apparent well before they reached the boss. They had to camp about 1/3 of the way through it to manage stress lest one of the clerics go nuts early. When they finally did reach the boss it seemed pretty doable but I should have cut and run when I had the chance. I pushed it and they panicked as expected. Still, they got the Necromancer down to like literally 1 or 2 HP... but yeah his wall of minions was such that the fighters couldn't do anything remotely useful (even if they double teamed a minion the necro gets a new one every time he attacks up to the max) and once the crusader died to a heart attack I should have already called it. The clerics got pulled into melee range and the enemy shield guys were stun-lock-rotating them so before I could get a single further cleric attack spell (only thing in my party that could hit the back rank) another cleric died and I tried to withdraw. Actually I think I did when I still had two left but they started yelling at eachother and in the end only one of them made it out the door. She grabbed everyone's dropped gear and hightailed it out. RIP Crusader, Vestal/cleric, and Leper. So it wasn't all bad, I learned some stuff. A.) Probably never take two Melees if you're expecting a boss. All but one of those so far has hidden in the back rank with some kind of high HP/regenerating barrier basically relegating tanks to off-buffs or failing to clear the obstruction. B.) I should have gone with my gut and waited to try tier 3 stuff until my guys had tier 3 skills. Several fights throughout that excursion saw enemies alive with only 1-2 HP that would have been dead with upgraded attacks. Same goes for the necromancer. C.) The cleric cleric crusader leper thing was cool but it should die with that party. I need to work a medium/ranged DPS in to every party. With a grave-robber, highwayman, basically anything but another tank... I could have had the Necromancer down. The Hellion with her iron swan back rank attack would have done well too. So I've got enough level 3 guys for another run but I think I'm gonna turn to the lower level dudes and have them forage for more loot so I can buy that critical tier 3 training upgrade. Fun game. It kind of sucks to lose a mission and 3 valuable characters after such a tough and close battle.. but I really set myself up for it. Not the most relaxing game in my repertoire but still neat to play. As long as I'm willing to send them to their deaths, the poor adventurers will keep showing up

IIRC, there was a dubstep gun in SR3?? Though as I also seem to recall, if it was indeed there, it wasn't quite as ridiculous as the dubstep gun in SR4.

IKR? In the area just before the Taurus demon (which I haven't defeated yet), I died like, 3 or 4 times in a row because I kept auto-locking to dudes up on the scaffolding and my walk direction then turns sideways and I walk off the edge.

Yeah... just wait until after the Taurus Demon. There's one part where the paths are REALLY narrow.

Really? I didn't notice it. Then again, there's a shotgun that summons a shark, so it wouldn't be entirely out of place.

Picked up Dark Souls 3, played about two hours, give or take. Tried three classes now just to get a feel of how I want to play it, since I haven't played DS1 or DS2 (I know, I should...), think I've settled on the warrior because it's simple, though the herald was fun as well and seemed solid, maybe I'll do that one for my second play through. I quite like it so far, though it is much different than Bloodborne, as I imagined. Beat the first boss on my first attempt, about to go back and fight the second one for the second time. I probably could have lasted a little while to see it's behavior, but I had no estus and like...1/10 of my health during the first encounter so it one-shot me.

Still sending hapless adventurers into the darkest dungeon. Been a bit more cavalier with risks after that first major wipeout. Made the lower level guys try a blackout run with no torches but without a lot of low-light-bonus based gear they ran into too much stress too quick. Still an interesting change of pace.

Back at it with Mordheim: City of the Damned, since they released two more DLC characters. Finally kicking ass as Human Mercenaries right out of the gate, getting the Priest of Ulric right at the forming of your warband adds some serious punch that a Smuggler or Youngblood just can't provide early on. So used to gettting manhandled in the first few engagements, but now I'm coming up on the 3rd mission of Act 1 with the most solidly balanced Warband I've ever had, and I still have alot of warriors with Skill points to use.

Got the old Shadow of the Horned rat games up and running on my windows 8....surprisingly fun.
Trying for both Final liberation as well, but getting CTDs like rain. Had to disable movies, music and sounds, but the actual CTDs are occurring when I try and get to the roster.
Anyone know how to get Medieval Total War gold to work on windows 8? I'm really mad that that game doesn't work, because I preferred that map style to the new ones.

Underrated game! Had really good sound too.
Started Wasteland 2 on the ps4 last couple of days, having played it a bit in the PC. Enjoying it more, maybe because it's different from most ps4 games. I like a bit of turn based strategy. Also, just started Far Cry 4. Very funny opening!

There's a thing under ease of access that allows you to pop up a windowed keyboard where you can click the keys.

Thinking if playing Planetside 2 again. They've optimized it a ton and I've gotten a better computer since last time I tried, so hopefully I'll have a greater than single digit framerate this time (last time I played was at release, it played like a slide show on minimum graphics).

Medieval: Total War 2? I'm sure there's a workaround. Automatically Appended Next Post: Serious question, how would I get Arcanum of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura to work on either XP or Windows 7? Where would I even find that? I'm sure if I could get that to work I could take a crack at BG again.

GOG.Com.
I have it in my library and it ran perfectly on Win7. Just upgraded to 10, so haven't tried it on that yet.

Oddly enough I'm playing starcraft 1. I basically breezed through the missions so far in the terran campaign. Odd how with minor support marine spam (with firebats at the front if I face zerg or protoss) and later goliath spam can lay waste to the enemy. The support is mostly in the form of science vessels once you get them. EMP (great vs units with abilities) and defensive matrix are pretty awesome but great on more elite units such as siege tanks on the front line.
It's just nuts playing starcraft 1 these days. I remember back in the day when it was like my 2nd experience with RTS games (c&c 1 being the first) and it was the hardest thing ever. These days the campaign is mostly for chumps. I don't even put serious effort into most of the game esp. the vanilla campaign that doesn't include Brood War.
Anyway I've beaten the first 8 of 10 terran missions in the original campaign. The later missions mostly taking about 40 minutes or so as I overwhelm the enemy with barely any resistance. The 8th mission they gave a small bit of resistance so it'll get more interesting.
Perhaps I should find the starcraft 1 mod for starcraft 2 that includes the campaign. I remember back when I played it the difficulty was ramped up a ton to where each wave of enemies was actually a massive threat and you'd barely hang on. It was basically improved upon starcraft 2's enemy AI, starcraft 2 AI and ability use.
