@Graven - Thanks mate
@Cam - Looks good eh, you should see all of them together... oh wait, that may happen soon
@Yorkright - Its a sample, you know to get you addicted before I give you the best stuff
@ingtaer - He bro, happy you like the chappy I have one more to do, which is an old metal one. No idea when I'll do it, but i'll be thinking of you when I do!
@Gits - Aww, thanks!
@Mad - Hehe, we would need for you to face marines or GK for that to happen. Maybe once I've got a better handle on the crons...
@LDP - LDP, a fan of a captain model.... Yess! after you've produced such lovely captains in the past, thats high praise indeed
@Squerkie - It does, having taken them from the huge backlog, assemble, prime, paint and base. Then put them in storage, its very nice. Also welcome to the blog!
Update: Onto the next push, the Deathgaurd from the 8th starter pack

@Graven - Crust and goop has been born!
@Yorkright - Haha, try not to get your hopes up to much, these are going to be quick and.... dirty, I guess just what DG should be?
@Zerg - Maybe it'll give you some ideas?
Update: trying a simple scheme on the zombies (Pox Walkers) I thought about doing skin tone across all the models, however elected against it for speed, I would spend far to long on them to add skin tones, where as a light green sickly look with a brown wash may fit the bill. I didn't get to much time but at least they got started

@Zerg - Done well is perhaps a misnomer in this instance. I've chosen 5 colour and stuck with it, no highlighting nor follow up edge highlights, so the dark and dirty look is then accentuated by a all over brown wash. Not sure if its quicker, but compared to everything else I painted last push it is quicker!
@Graven - Hahah, all inspired by you my friend!
@Mad - With 60 to do, perhaps just go down to 4 colours, maybe even to 3 if you can and brown wash, simple really
Update: Second group done

They are looking good for all the time you have taken, simply effective.
Personally I smidgen disappointed, I can understand that they are not all that for you. But was looking forward to seeing just how good you could do a "dirty" job. Do not get me wrong here, brilliant work done and I get it. Was just wondering how you would tackle it.
So what is next?

Rocking through these well Knightley.
Heh, I think when I do mine I'll do them as a big 60 man group. Do one colour per session and smash them out that way.
I also plan on doing 3x squads of 20 with different coloured clothing so I can work out which squad is what when there is many fights happening.

@Zerg - Cheers dude, to be honest I hadn't thought about doing the bases, these guys are not really involved with my main armies, they just happened to be models that came in a box with models I wanted (and the rule book etc) Maybe I'll go back at a much much later date and do the bases, but it is not this day!
@Cam - Fair call, I would have liked to splash all the love and attention I give to my Marines, if I did that I would be painting these guys for 5-6 months and I have some other models I would like to get to first. The bonus here is the stage they are at would allow me (again much much later) to layer/highlight/weather them as base colours/wash is part of my painting process.
@Mad - 60 in one go... you really are living up to your online pseudonym with that effort, the models are chock full of details so my suggestion would be do them in batches of 20 max, or I suspect you'll go mad.... Pun intended
Update: On to the Bloat Drone

Okay. It's beautifully painted. But far too... crisp.
Dude, you are a stunningly good painter, but this needs to be filthy. Horrible. Crusty. Break out the sponge weathering, the texture paint. The crud. It might be the lighting, but it just looks too fresh. That big patch of pus green on the surface? Where's the crackle, the rust, the corrosion? The pustules on the back should weep, leak, suppurate.
Sorry man, hope you can take that as the positive C&C it's intended as. I know you can make this a bloody brilliant piece of crap, and I just want to see you make this absolutely foul.
