You're able to use more than one 'Relic of the Armoury' vehicle if you take a certain designated HQ. Marines it used to be the MoTF, but now I'm guessing a regular Techmarine was allowed? DA use the Interrogator Chaplains and SW get Wolf Priests(?) as their equivalents, BA had the Reclusiarch but that's gone now so the consensus is, like regular SM and the Techmarine/MoTF issue, normal Chaplains are eligible for it instead

Yeah if you have a Techmarine you can take more than one Relic of the Armoury.

Sounds like good games. I like games where the outcome is close. It looks like you had some good lists to face and you did well against them, so feel good about that!

Nice to see the whole army pics.

Yeah they were good games I actually felt like I was interacting instead of just taking models off the table

I should have something to show this weekend as long as I don't get swept away in the Christmas rush.

I have some more painted minis to show this week, things must be getting back on track

These guys have been waiting for their base to be finished sine the start of December but they are now complete.

Kings of War Undead Cavalry.

And my entry for the Dakka painting contest, I took the pic last weekend, she should be finished tomorrow hopefully.

Some non painting related news for those that have been following for a while. I finally got given my end date yesterday which is the end of July. So things are going to be really hectic up to that point, I could be all over the country training people and helping with the move, I'm one of the last people to leave

I've no idea what that's going to mean for my blog yet but painting time could be greatly reduced.

Love the way that cavalry turned out. In a group on that base they really look intimidating.

The cavalry look great. Love the crushed foliage behind the wedge.

At the very least you have a good amount of time to sort your work situation out. Should be plenty of time to find the right job for you.

Cheers Archer I wanted it to look like they had been trampling through the undergrowth

I'm not so worried about the work issue as you say I have time on my side.

I have another mini for you today, my entry for the Dakka painting comp.

Inquisitor Mitra

She will be running with my Mantis Warriors, keeping a watchful eye on them

Thanks for all the comments and welcome to my blog Bottle

I was intending to get loads of minis painted over the X-mas break but the little ones haven't been well so I've been spending most of my time with them.

As its the New Year its time to see what I've accomplished from last years goals.

Non GW

Infinity - Paint starter set and play through the starter rules - Completed
Malifaux - Assemble and paint the three crews I have and try to play the game, just need to pick up the cards. -- Failed, although I did paint two crews then decided to wait and pick up the starter.
Relic Knights - Finish painting the Shattered Sword minis and then pic up some of the Black Diamond faction and the rules. - On Hold as new version of the Rules will be released this year and some minis re-done.
Dark Lands - Paint up my Ysians and pick up a second faction and rules when they come out. - Failed see this years projects
Carnevale - Paint up the two forces I have and try playing the game - Failed
DUST - Paint the two starter sets I have and play. - Failed
Wolsung - Currently waiting for the new rulebook from their kickstarter before picking up any minis. - on hold until all the minis are released
Warmachine - Finish painting the Cygnar minis I have and any others I pick up. - Completed
Dark Age - pick up two starter forces. - Completed
Freebooters Fate - Pick up the main rules and a few starter sets - Failed
Kings of War - Build 4 small armies Undead, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elves and Dwarves or Humans. I've already started picking up bits for the undead army. - 30% Completed although I'm doing Wood Elves and Undead not sure what happened there!

GW
Man O War - Skaven still in the same position as last two years I've not seen any minis I need

Sisters of Battle - Phase one is to get another Exorcist and some more melta girls but I've been putting them off for a long time. Phase two is to make some Immolators - Failed Although they did get a knight and a few new girls and a overhaul.
Mantis Warriors - Just need a 5 man tac squad and a Sicaran - Completed and more
Dark Wolves - Not much left that I want for these, an Iron Priest on Thunderwolf and another Hyperios Missile launcher Failed
World Eaters - A Predator and a Typhon Failed
Death Guard - Some Obliterators and another unit of plasma Plagues Completed

Not bad I suppose I didn't get as much done as I wanted and now have a huge backlog going into 2016 b

This years going to be a bit hit and miss due to the work situation but I need something to aim for so here we go.

2016 Projects

Darklands - Paint my Brythoniaid force - These are currently being painted.
Darklands - Paint Ysians force
KoW Undead - Assemble and paint the Ghoul unit I have
Man-O-War - Paint Dark Elf fleet
Man-O-War - Paint Nurgle Fleet
40k Mantis Warriors - Pick up and paint a razorback for my inquisitor, she wont walk!
Malifaux - Pick up the starter and paint/play
40k World Eaters - Paint new squads and dread from Battle of Calth set for them and maybe some daemon allies.
Infinity - Paint USAdriana box set
Godslayer - paint Halodynes faction
Batman - Paint whatever I have by this point, already have a box full of minis
Darklands - Paint Formoric force
Dark Age - Paint Kukulkani force
Dark Age - Paint Dragyri force
Frostgrave - Pick up and paint scenery/warbands and monsters
KoW Wood Elves - Paint phase two minis
KoW Undead - Paint phase two minis
Warmachine - Paint Cryx minis
DUST - paint SSU starter
DUST - paint Axis starter
KoW - paint human army phase 1
Darklands - Paint Khthones force
Darklands - Paint Jutes force
Darklands - Paint Anglecynn force
Darklands - Paint Erainn force
Carnevale - Paint two forces

Well thats mostly stuff I already have that needs to be painted with the extra stuff for Frostgrave which will be my main project along with Batman this year.

Of course there are other things I'd like to add to the list if time and money permits.

Blood Bowl - pick up and paint an Amazon team from Willy Miniatures.
40k - New factions that could see the light of day, Black Templars with Guard jungle themed, Exorcists as Grey Knights.
30k - I have an itch but don't know what to do currently, I'm looking at Emperors Children, Raven Guard, Sons of Horus or Thousand Sons. err I'm actually looking at two factions one for each side
Man-O-War - still looking for the elusive Skaven unit I need, it's been two years now and I've not managed to find one on ebay.
Freebooters Fate - This is still on the go when I get round to it, I really would love to paint some pirates.
Dark Age - pick up the slaver faction

So there we have it probably enough to keep me going for two years if I don't pull my finger out

Will be interesting to see what happens.

I hope you all are having a great start to the New Year. I've just tried playing the starter rules with the X-wing box contents and it was most fun, looking forwards to playing more and maybe doing re-paints, which isn't on my list ....

Frostgrave sounds interesting. I've seen the rules and minis in my LGS and chatted to some people about it.
I'm sure one of them got the rules and was intending on giving us an intro game... Should look into that. I like it's premise.

You have a lot on your plate for this year. That is a lot of projects! Best of luck achieving them all!

Yeah there is a lot, I can't see me doing all of it but it needs to be done otherwise next year my list will be even longer

If you want to see some cool batreps check out Guerrila Miniature Games youtube channel. Ash and the guys from a couple of other channels have some excellent stuff going on. Actually all their batreps are great, I watch nearly all of them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbO4Vs1vlAA9hz7Ad7IMgug/videos

Git's I did want to include a bike squad but wanted to use the FW models but they are really expensive. I may add an assault squad as they would be handy for nabbing objectives.

So far I have
Swamp Thing
Hush
Poison Ivy
Batwoman
Killer Frost
Lady Shiva and the League of Shadows
Nyssa Al Ghul
League of Shadows set 1
Talia Al Ghul (Comic version) - she's on order with some X-wing stuff

Yeah is a bit scary but its quite varied so I shouldn't loose interest.

----------------------------------------

Today we have some newly painted minis, how about that for a good start for the year

From Darklands we have Forwyn Carys, Uchelwr of Gwynedd

And her Loyal Guard both from the Brythoniaid faction

Next on the table for the Brythoniaid is Parawn the dragon, he's rather huge...

Here he is getting his basing done with the Ysians which are in line after him.

Currently I'm thinking an Orange up to yellow on the scales and a dirty cream bone colour on the front. Might go dark orange as I want the darkness at the start of the scales.

A few picks that look like what I'm going to try for, they are rather big so spoliered.

Ok so I've started painting Parawn, he's already had one accident today while painting him when he came off his base and exploded when he hit the table

He had a few bits break off, his head, a wing and a talon but he's all back together now

This is where I am so far his eyes aren't done yet but you should start to get the feel for what he's going to look like. I'm also entering him into the monthly dakka painting competition run by Para.
