Hmmm Daemon world!? now that sound goooooood to me! any ideas you can show me what would look good? either sketches or examples of a good set up to sit the army on and work around

speaking of the army, while I didn't do any painting today I did assemble the other Paladins and just get some shots of what I physically have here with me (apart from a boxed Stromraven) some were already primed but I thought even though they're not too exciting I wanted to show you so you can see the different weapons I'm using and the poses to give them some real excitement

here's the big brother gave him a helmet instead of a bare head which is what he came with as if he's going to look ridiculous and vulnerable he should at least protect his head!


and this is kinda useless but i'm doing two 5 man Purifier squads and these guys are the start of the first one just need to find all the parts for 2 incinerators then build.

First off, 200 pages!

Second, why the incinerator on the Pali? Psycannons are so good because knights don't really have abythibg for dealing with armor. Storm bolters plus combat are ample for infantry.

Holy crap Batman!! 200 pages! I didn't even realise :-) that's awesome, I NEVER thought i'd still be as passionate and hungry for modeling as I am still, and that's really because of all of you who have helped me stay keen and help direct me!

I was also instructed that my paladin halberd squad should perhaps have a psycannon? but I can't remove the incinerator :-( so do we have any tactics to use a paladin squad with an incinerator and a squad with a psycannon and swords?

That only works for superglue, if its polystyrene cement you would have to get your modelling saw out!

Yep only had my plastic melting glue of painnnnnnnn!!!! tried everything and was in danger of snapping either his arm or his legs or ripping his torso asunder so he shall stay with his incinerator and be named Brother Grill!

Just point him towards the Orks and he will have fun

Another option would be to convert it, have the flamer end cut off as well as the gas canister and put a Psycannon end and a box mag on, may not look exactly the same but I'd buy that for a dollar!

What are people's opinions on using a banner as a Dreadknight tabard? i'm toying with the idea to give him more detail?

I've seen this done successfully, you just need to watch because of the odd proportions of the model. When building them I added furioso hand-plates to the termie-baby to bulk him up - this would balance well, I think, with the larger tabarding.

Don't think I can do it this time around, the model was already glued together and what I need to do is too fiddly like this. So, maybe next Dreadknight :-) .....yes Whaley I said 'Next Dreadknight'.....

Still no paint thanks to work life imbalance but I managed to steal a few minutes the last couple of days to assemble two mini's for my upcoming Grey Knights army I bought a BA Librarian and subtly converted him with a warding staff, a storm bolter and a new head! well, not really a 'new' head per se but recycled a bare head I really like and have been after an excuse to use! Bruce Willis is back bitches!!

also built my HQ/LoW Mr Draigo, no conversion here just another recycled bare head, I am a little torn between the one I painted as myself that I put on my BA Captain? or Korvydae's head? part of me would love the idea of 'me' leading my army in battle and the other likes the way Korvy's head looks! I only grabbed one pic with Korvydae's head for you (the other didn't work for some reason but I can take another if you want?)

So, speaking of Grey Knights, I did up a rough adding up of my force I have (will soon have, thanks Whaley ) i'm open to armament suggestions of the strike squad? each squad is 5 men. I'm hoping to mold it around a Shunt-Punch style force with lots of deep striking, shunting and so forth.

Those faces look amazing. So I take you're of the "paint from inside out" school of painting then?
One thing - could it be that you're not priming minis? Or do you paint the heads separately and just put them on the minis for the photos?

Looks like he paints them separately and blu-tac's them in for photos.

Yeah I paint them separately and sort of blu tac them in to dummy up how each head will look in the body with the poses, and usually the painted ones come off other painted models I recycle when I don't follow through with another idea lol :-) I do prime my models Siggy don't stress! and thank you for the compliment on my faces, I say it every time but I just really enjoy painting them :-)

My best mate came over today and we were having a quick chat where he loves the idea I did of painting a face up to look like me, which i've done and he wants me to paint one up like him so we can have our army commanders representing us both on the table this led us to decide that my Grey Knights HQ will no longer be Kaldor Draigo, but now shall be Kaldor Damo

So still wanting to use Korvydae's head ('cos I love it) I went through each Paladin model and found one I think suits the head perfectly the stance and angle of the body with the raised halberd works with the yelling face.

so here's a dummy up of the changes made for these two models, we'll go with Paladin first.




and this is Kaldor Damo, the original head is the same size as this one even though it looks quite small but should be good when he's painted as the visage is that of a measured and calm warrior perusing the battlefield and directing his forces




that's it so far sorry guys, but this week I'll actually have more time to actually paint instead of just slap together a model or two
