Hey guys, I did some more base coating on the Reaver parts today, it really is a massive model with so much detail I have been doing the base on all the armour banding that will be various shades of gold, it's a slow process but it's a good one as once it's done I can really see where she's heading and how dark or light the golds need to be with the main panels and body alloys. I changed her crotch guard to white and will do the same on some lower leg parts with the swirlies. she's going to look pretty magic when together!









So that's some more actual paint and here's some more actual models that are needing paint

We have Gits' next troupe consisting of Belisarius Cawwwwwwwwwl and the Inquisitor from the box, along with a random Skitarii and another set of Kastelan (not pictured) but the heads are painted.






and here's wave 3 for RiTides! ten more grunts, 4 more Scyllax, 3 Myrmidon stand ins which are super cool models!

That titan is going to be one of the most beautiful pieces of art you have done. That will be truly stunning.

Man, Blackadder ought to commission you to paint up his Titan.

Also, on the pistons, you ought to put in a little oil-streaking. Bare, matte metal like that would rust super easily, so, especially on moving parts, they'd have annointed it with a layer of holy oils to prevent the degredations of time.

Good times for the Mechanicum ahead, here on Nerdy's blog. Really astounded by the consistency with which you paint the swirls, truly a mighty feat!

Those swirls were originally a lot finer but when I forgot a layer it made them nearly disappear so I had to go over them all again and needed to make them a bit bigger to make sure i covered them all. They do look really cool though :-) and today I based the rest of the parts that are having the white swirls on them so I can work on them.

really there's only a few more things to do if I break it down into parts.

*paint all the metal banding with brown/gold mix and wash with black

*add swirlies to the white panels

*paint crew and head interior

*start washing entire mechanical model under the panels.

*paint guns

I know that's seems really short but that's the stage I need to get to before I actually start to make it something special! so from here on I will need to add weathering and shades to different metals, scratches and chips and do the burns on the weapon arms, also all the banding needs to be done in gold highlighted up to silver in parts. then it's detailing with lenses and cables, dirt and verdigris or rusts, may use powders for the first time but i'm not sure yet?

I had to get a few extra so I could make the guns swappable, I've been meaning to ask them if they'd offer just the guns separately (the default squad mix has 2 of one gun and 1 of the other).

Thank you so much guys she's a beauty for sure, if I could work out how to get a video onto the computer I would show you some of the updates I sent Gits to see through Messenger if anyone knows please tell me and I'll do it! as for first dance, as much as i'd love that honor I want her to rest in her rightful place among Gits forces, smiting down the heretic the traitor and the alien! what I want to see is her first blooding in a battle report with lots of pics!

I haven't done much more as far as details go, but I've been slogging through the metal banding going over them with gold, then I'll go with a gold/silver and highlight with silver on every one, so while it's a long game it is totally worth it in the end i've quartered the left knee and have a mechanicus logo to add on there but i'm not sure what spot colour to go with? at the moment it's dark grey which is a nice contrast but we'll work it out as we go, strangely the part i'm looking forward to is doing all the rivets and highlighting them then adding a little bit of water run discoloration on bits.

when she's finished I will see if i can get her together enough for a full body photo shoot but in reality she'll probably be fully assembled when she's in her new home with Gits so I can wrap and ship her safely in a box the size of a bedroom so you'll have to settle for many individual pics from me

Very pretty, those elegant details look right at home on those big metal armour plates.

I'd love to wax lyrical for paragraphs about these few models but honestly they're just cool! more for RiTides all finished! wave 3 is done and ready for postage to join the might of the Atrapos and friends! more Scyllax, robots, those awesome Myrmidon stand ins as well as a Walrus transport!

Also, Gits Ancient centuries old Kastelan robots from an archaic age as well as a suitably baroque Inquisitor who I really really enjoyed painting
