Going to try my best to cover it all real quick...

Combined Army: Collection of alien races out to destroy/ensalve humanity ruled by the Evolved Intelligence, like an alien AI.

Morat: Monkey warrior race that makes me think of Predators from the movie/comics that is a part of the Combined Army.

Sectorial: Themed sub-army that's part of a bigger umbrella army.

Tohaa: bio-engineering alien race that has been fighting the Combined Army and is manipulating the Humans to fight them to get a brief reprieve from fighting.

TAG: Stands for Tactical Armor Gear, usually a mecha style suit with a single pilot/operator. Think Appleseed Anime/Manga, Bubblegum Crises or the Cyclones from Robotech.

It will probably go up for preorder next week or the week after.
When it will actually be in stock? That's a different case entirely.

Generally we get previews the month of release/preordering.

To be a pedant, I would say that the Morat are probably more like the Jem'Hadar from Star Trek DS9, rather than Predators..

Yes I suppose the Jem'Haddar are quite similar to Klingons, except they have the other similarity with the sinister, ruling alien elite controlling them (Changelings in DS9, the EI in Infinity).

Angel Giraldez made a statement today that starting in 2014, he will begin painting exclusively for Corvus Belli. He'll still work with Vallejo and do items for collectors(but won't accept commissions? not sure how exactly that works), but Corvus Belli will be the only company he will paint for.

Kind of a big deal and definitely Infinity related news.

Here's his statement from Facebook:

I would like to announce that in 2014 I will be exclusive painter of corvus belli ( Infinity)
This mean that I will not paint miniatures for other companies.
I will continue with my work with Acrylicos Vallejo and painting for collectors (still do not accept commissions).
I made Studio Giraldez in 2007 and over the years I worked for many companies.
I want to thank the confidence in my work to all companies, THANKS

I wonder if this means CB will be ramping up their release rate for INFINITY in 2014?

It could also be that Giraldez wants a break in his life.

I remember that in the beginning of 2013, he stated publicly that he was swamped with projects and couldn't take anymore commissions. Perhaps the uprise in popularity of Infinity has allowed him to earn a well-deserved raise and he doesn't need other commissions to ensure a livelihood.

As it stands, he seemed to only consistently do work for Corvus Belli and Cipher Studios recently, anyways.

Wow, that's some list of stuff!

I got to chat to one of the developers from CB last year. He said they will be sat in the same room as Angel while he is painting, and he will just be chatting and looking over his shoulder, and in the other hand an Infinity mini that will be painted to the studio standard.. apparently he can just knock them out really fast (which, I find massively depressing and dispiriting

)

Perhaps good news in that
- CB are doing well, and can afford to pay him more to work more hours.
- They might ramp up the release schedule (although, I hope they don't do this too much! I already have a hard time keeping up).

The release schedule has already been ramped up - we still get 4-5 releases each month but more of them are box sets instead of blisters.

I think that is more because of the shift toward boxed sets in general with blisters for special weapons and low AVA units/unlinkable models.

Okay so now that we have images posted, I can discuss!

The posing and style remind me of the "Hunters" from Halo. I'm really curious if it is physically piloted by a Tohaa or if the Symbiont Armor is actually its own organism with some kind of linkage to a Tohaa elsewhere.

It is piloted, it goes from a TAG to a LI. But, I guess it stays the same size

?

Does the small model come with it? Is it a controller / pilot? I don't know about Tags, forgive my ignorance.
