Are there limited numbers available?

It is a Limited Edition, so I would say yes, there are limited numbers. And an interesting choice for an LE model too.

Eh. Not that interesting.

It is for those of us that thought Penthouse was the best miniature released last year (like me! )

Intrigued to see what they will do..

I'm considering getting her just because I like collecting their limited edition models.

Also she should make an awesome stand-in for Izzat Beg if I don't end up liking his model.

They have enough models to release without doing limited editions every year, in my opinion.

I'm glad it is not CB opinion.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Perhaps it'll be Mrs. Izzat Beg*? Or USAriadna gets bikes instead of Quads?

For those of you counting, 40 days to the Inter-Planetary at Vigo.

*Or, given the Avicenna example, Izzat Beg himherself.

That looks awesome. I want 4 how do people in Australia get their hands on these?

Order it from the Corvus Belli website during GenCon.

Hmm..

We must to apologize for publishing a wrong picture from the Pre-release of Penthesilea where it can be read "Limited Edition Penthesilea". This is the right one.

According to CB, this will still be available on their webstore during GenCon.. so I guess this means we have an "improved" version of their GenCon pre-release system. You can get the pre-release now at either GenCon -or- their store during, or you can wait for retail later on.

They've also said its aaa limited edition model. So chances of a retail release are slim.

No, they've dropped the "Limited Edtion" part now. So it's just a regular pre-release (like the Anaconda and Scarface) with the added benefit that you can ALSO buy the pre-release from CB direct if you can't make it to GenCon.

Nope, it was just as useless.

I have no clue why in the world they feel a model that is under a year old needed a variant already when there are so many missing profiles.

I can't wait to get my hands on this, one of my favourite all time models getting a rerelease as a purely display model

Maybe they're just testing how much would their alternative "skin" set sell. Second possibility could be, that they've felt the need to release something special for the event. Someone spend two afternoons working on a CAD and production plans and this is the result.

I'm not interested in the miniature.

Don't mind Kan. He just makes himself very vocal when CB don't bow to his wishes and refuses to accept people like things he doesn't.

I'll be grabbing one to paint it as a Kum rider / Izzat Beg still even if it's a bootleg.

Because Penthesilea was a super super super super super seuccesfull release.... they are trying to repeat with her.
Why? because it is a 3D model, that they can easily pose and make her ride the new Kum Bike, wich is 3D also...

This is like asking why are there so many Iron Man different figures in the market.

I question that it was "super super super super successful" release for any reason other than her rules.

What market? The action figure market?

Because if you're talking about the action figure market, then I hope like hell Infinity isn't going that way.

What wishes?

This is another Penthesilea model within a year of the release of the actual model. When it was limited edition it was "meh", but now that it is general release?
That means it has taken the release, production, and sculpting slot of a model that actually is needed.

If you can not see why I don't like that, I do not know what to tell you.

For me, it all depends on the pose.

If it isn't like the rest of the 'bootleg' line, than I'll probably pick it up.

If she looks particularly amazing, I'll consider it, but I'll have a lot vying for my gencon budget. Wonder if she's going to become CB's Sophie.

What.. just like the Anaconda and Scarface? The last two years, CB have made a point of bringing out something 'special' in time for GenCon and if I recall correctly, neither of those releases had profiles prior to them popping up although I could be wrong about Scarface. The idea that this is yet another merc with just enough fluff to justify her existence (ohnoz! rebellious clonez!) who works for, say, and Haq and Ariadna (not ITS legal outside USAriadna and.. whatever the Kum riders sectorial is) is not so far fetched. Personally I'd be more annoyed if they pre-released some much needed blister (Chasseurs!) at GenCon.. and if the decided not to do anything special at GenCon at all, well, then it would literally be their loss.

For me, they can pre-release whatever they want, wherever and whenever!

If we can all get it eventually, who cares?

If it helps justify/pay for the convention trip, great!

Grow the game? Even better!

Scarface was known to be a Campaign: Paradiso release. He released in relatively big numbers at GenCon(and in Spanish tournaments as well) in August and then the book was scheduled for September/October. It didn't come out until around November in the US but that was circumstances beyond their control.

If it were a new profile it would be labeled as such.

There's nothing "special" about another bootyleg model, especially one that was apparently a dud if you go by stock listings. She's been out since last year and only once went out of stock at The Warstore and other indy retailers.

Thanks for the clarification.

With the way CB have been drip-feeding us information recently, there is still plenty of time for that to happen so I'm not ready to discount the idea just yet

My FLGS orders in extra stock of things that they think will be popular and the Penny release was one of those times. But that's just one brick and mortar shop. I don't have any hard data to support or refute what you are saying about stock levels and popularity. As for the bootyleg comment, I'm not sure if that is an assumption that this is a bootleg release in which case, I would say that all bootleg releases are special in that they are a deliberate deviation from the usual release format so that CB can try something new, but that's no guarantee of the quality of the miniature itself. If it's a comment about another (presumably) cheesecake model and you don't like that, well, that's certainly your prerogative.

You are completely right... Penthesilea is ugly and her bike is awful. She does not belong to the most popular army, most popular sectorial army, was horribly painted and her photos did not reach any wargaming community outside the Infinity Ghetto.

Is just her troop profile... specially when you think that actual players would be like 1/3rd of actual Infinity customers.

Ajax is also a super seller... not because is an awesome miniature that a lot of people bought and even play it as a Spess Mahreen, no... It was just his troop profile....
