Well the connection for me is I like ponies and I like 40k, other then that business as usual.

Also, there's a certain appeal in 'tainting' either with the other. On one hand, taining the Grimdarkness of 40K with the Love and Friendship of FiM, and tainting FiM with the Grimdarkness of 40 K.
They both lend themselves easily to crossovers due to the Absolute Monarchy/Diarchy aspect of each of the genres, and the similar cultural aspects of the God/s also being the Monarch/s.

Ponies look adorable in power armor.

I find it a welcome break from all the grimness and darkness. I write a lot about 40k or what have you so it's a nice change of pace to just enjoy something nonviolent occasionally.

Also the mixing or 'tainting' as Anvil said. That's fun too.



Speaking of which, how does on submit a story to FIMficiton? The site is woefully lacking in instructions.

There is one connection, really, namely that Both Space Marines and Ponies are colourful.

Other than that, as several artists has shown by now, Ponies can look realllllllllllly good in Power Armor ... And Ponygants (tyranid ponies) can look really good, too.
Personally, i like both ... and Equino Assassins

So, what's the general consensus on the new season? I was extremely tired Saturday night when my friends and I sat down to watch it and I fell asleep.

Strange... It just seems to be a big coincidence that so many 40k players are bronies/ vice versa. Anyways, I respect you guys both for your 40k love and your brony fandom (even though I don't understand it...)

ohhhh, I kinda get what you were getting at now. I guess many people who play warhammer spend a large amount of time on the internet were you're most likely to see other bronies or MLP refrances which will then make them do one of 3 things: ignore it, hate it or find out more about it. the latter might end up with them then becoming bronies and also the other way round. a brony will see some MLP/40K crossover fanwork and then will do one of the same 3 things.

I don't know of any of the local 40k players being Bronies. I know two other Warmachine players who are though, and I met another who was at WMW recently.

Also, I think the Dresses are fine, as they're more like really fancy capes/cloaks. It's the skirts that are a bit weird given they're a perpetual walking upskirt at that point.

Well Photo Finish there is doing a skirt kind of thing... The birthday "dress" that Rarity made for Twi is another example.

But those still end up fairly long... meh it's a kid's show.

I don't really think about it. I just see it and think it doesn't look as good is all.

They have managed to slip some stuff under the radar though.

I can't see the point of skirts on equines, it's not like they're covering anything.

One of the background ponies had one in swarm of then century. It was eaten by parsprites.

I've started turning some of the Ponyhammer sprites i have done into Icons, lately .... or something like that.

Personally I like Intra Astra. Has a nice metre to it, and neither gives away nor overly obfuscates what the story is about.
