yeah they don't seem to, we never see Rainbow Dash's or Fluttershy's family
well of the mane 6 we've only seen 3 of their families

Fluttershy and rainbow dash where sent to boarding school. I get a feeling that pegasi live in something like a military dictatorship, or commune.

I hear that a lot, just about this season in general too. But this Fandom has made literal terabytes of fan content in the past 2 years. It's not too outlandish to assume that one of the Writers would see some if it, like it, and pitch it in the next meeting.

Truly, Rainbow Dash is the element of Loyalty.

It might just be coincidence that the pegasi's parents haven't been on the show yet. We didn't learn about Twilight's Big Brother until the end of Season two and she's the main character.

Her parents where in season one though. We see apple jacks family in episode 1, twilight and pinky pies in 23. Then rarity's parents show up in season 2 episode 5.

Yeah, AJ's almost certainly parentless given her current family living conditions.

And the fanfic thing comes less from an episode being similar to any given story and more that they're hitting major tropes and very common themes. Now we just need Twilight to screw up a teleportation spell and/or bring a human to Equestria. =P

I could have sworn they where there in episode 23, but it turned out to just be granny smith. So I guess we haven't seen apples parents just her rather large extended family.

Think of it, if the dream realm is Luna's responsibility as well, then she isn't really invading.
And in the story in case, she is clearly not invading.
It was indeed nice to see, though, and it seem to show some development and depth to Luna, as well ....
I think that has already affected some fanfics ...

And all this talk of seen families made me think of that Pinkies cutiemark-story was ... questionable ... That is, until Trixie recently admitted to have been working at a rock farm ... perhaps even for Pinkie Pies parents?

I did not double post, the server hadn't caught up with my post.

And seriously, I'm probably one of a small population of people that could make bronies look normal. It's my wargaming that would make me look like a freak. I've got a good job, bathe regularly (not saying bronies don't bathe, but why give them that advantage), and there isn't a single MLP thing in my house except for my internet and Netflix history. And even that is only YouTube. I've read my little dashie on a dare, I've seen most of those creepy .MOV videos, and I could probably hold a "decent" conversation about the show with almost anyone, discussing the finer points of this little kid show, but that is mostly falling back on to my English background... gotta be able to bs your way through a book you haven't read

. Also I play party with Pinkie at college parties just to mess with people.
