It seems I may have written a new tutoral just for you then ^_^, ' Speed Basing Armies' in which I cover basic use of pigments for getting fast effective results, let me know if you have any thoughts.

I found the basing tutorial really handy! I think when I start a new fantasy army I will have to borrow it. Really nice work on the plague bearers and the nurglings too

Cheers, go for it, that's what it''s there for
Tah robbie, using the dry works nicely as well, they just rub-off less this way and save me a varnishing step, water is fun for sightly more controlled smudging as well.
Painting Screamers tutorial here's another for how I painted these chaps.
Also a couple of shots of the Necrons which I've been working on:

Very good tutorial! Maybe you should post some of those in the tutorial section? I'll bet a lot of people could learn a thing or two

Haha, so it's all your fault Robbie, how dare you! Cheers, I think there's potential for a very different necron army all rusted up there, which I believe could look fantastic, all dirty and bloody and rusty, would be cool.
I have done another tutorial, this one is a fairly big one - a step by step of how I painted my plaguebearers, it's fairly similar to the nurgling one but a lot a few people asked how I did them, and I had the pictures so it would have been pretty rude not to oblige!

I have had enough of painting gold, but I've got another 'white' army coming up, which I'm really looking forward to! I never tire of painting Necrons, just assembling them!
Part of what's kept me busy for the last month or so has been finishing off my own army (finally!) so I could attend a couple of tournaments, one of which I was lucky enough to win best painted, which I was really pleased with!
I've written a little How to Pin Models toturial guys, nothing majorly exciting, but something that I use almost daily, so maybe it'll be of some use to people.

Hello again guys, another tutorial is up: How to Paint Skyshield Landing Pad - in this I've covered how to approach painting metallics efficiently on a large scale mini such as this one (and my god is it huge!).
As ever any feedback or requests for other tutorials let me know.

Great tutorial mate, and fantastic results. One thing though, some of the pictures and steps took alittle to figure out, maybe if you numbered the photos as well as the instructions.

Thanks for the feedback sheep, it's always really appreciated! Do you think my posting multiple pictures per step complicates things? As it's such a big piece I found that one per step wasn't quite working.
Numbers is a good idea though, unfortunately that'll require some neat way of doing it so as not to ruin the pictures, I may have to advance beyond microsoft paint if they're to all be in the same place etc...oh oh, technology.

You should be able to track down UHU wherever you are Robbie - if in doubt go to eBay

I'll try that stringy stuff out one day. It's pretty much a must for Grandpapi Nurgle.
Question! I'm sure you've seen these Necrons before: http://darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/2011/11/it-came-from-forums-swamp-necrons-and.html
How would you suggest getting the swampy look on the minis like that?

My apologies for the delayed response Lt! I've been incredibly busy recently and have forgotten my manners it appears...
The reeds are the easy part - reeds + basing tutorial here I outline use of water effects in the dreadstone blight tutorial I did, for the same effect just add murky green paints to the water effects to get that swampy look instead of the blue washes I used and you're done!
As far as the stuff on the models themselves I'm not too sure, it looks like cotton wool that's been teased apart and soaked in paint possibly... any other ideas guys?
I've done a little round-robin of a blog post, briefly outlining what I've been up to over the past month: blog post linky
And I've painted some more Necrons, I do a lot of these guys, but these may be my favourite group of infantry so far, apologies for the pic not quite being good enough - the white bits throw the camera a little:
Click the pic for a bigger version
I've got some more updates to come when I can squeeze a moment, things are very busy with the store currently!

Thanks, Byron. Your bases are always great. But yeah, my main concern is definitely the swampy look on the models. I tried it with some grass flock and vallejo water effects along with some green wash mixed in on some scarabs... I mean, it looks okay, but nothing like those pics. It looks more like a mossy fungus or something. Shroomcrons?
Those new necrons are great! I agree, they're my favorite as well.
