Being an avid fan of the Black Rock Shooter OVA, I shat myself when I found out that there was a 8 episode anime. Unfortunately it was pretty bad, (namely yomi's redesign wtf). Cool fight scenes though

Gun x Sword was a good one. Very Trigun-esque in my opinion without simply being a clone of it.
Hellsing is one of those animes that I hear so much about but for some reason have never gotten around to watching.
Currently up to episode 348 in One Piece. Blazing thru that series, and yet there's still So Much More to go.
Damn my job, I'm only 40 episodes ahead of you now!

The fan service is honestly why I loved the series. Ignoring that it is, in general, a solid zombie piece, it takes the exploitive aspects of the genre (and of anime in general) to the level of comedy. It's hilarious

High School of the Dead was so much fan service. Its not that I have an issue with it, its just that the show is nothing but fanservice. It has no plot essentially. The most amusing character was the Otaku since he was obsessed with guns. Other than that there was nothing worth watching there.
Not a fan of zombie horror, huh? The whole thing crawls with shambling hoards of zombie film in jokes. Even it's acronym is an in joke (HOTD).

I still think she had the best line 'The author didn't write me as that sort of character!'
HOTD is really meant as a black comedy, sort of in the Shaun of the Dead/Zombieland mold. Stop and think how many times the main female characters are all good looking, and in their late teens or early twenties, in zombie cinema.

I like Zombie movies. I never said I had a problem with them, but what I do have a problem with is all of the unnecessary fan service they included into the anime.
I have friends who actually keep up with the manga and they've told me the anime is incredibly muddled down with all of the fan service and that they change around a bunch of things that happen. I don't mind that there are a bunch of scantily clad women in a zombie movie/show/book, but they overemphasized their parts. After a while the show just became a really bad comedy that I just wanted to see how it ended for the sake of it.
Also I agree about the nurse. She's so annoying. I always hate that type of character, because they really do have no personality or character to them at all.

^ I agree with that. It pains me so much bc the show has some really good moments and little things here and there. But then i completely ruins it with fan service that pops outa nowhere. Its not a super typical or predictable zombie series either, which is nice

... Actually, in my opinion the fan service was a bit watered down compared to the manga (read Chapter 23). The things I noticed different were as follows:
The weird bullet between the boobs shot.
The order of events around the EMP explosion, including the point at which they lose the Humvee.
The silly 'beach ep' OAV they added to the BR release.
A lot of the events leading up to the zombie apoc at the school.
The kiss between Saeoko and Takashi.
Unfortunately, the anime cuts off before the fanservice in the manga reaches it's peak (the bra bin in the mall. Just.. the bra bin.) at which point things get serious again with HIrano having to kill someone so they wouldn't turn and havign a serious BSOD.

Just finished "Haruhi Suzumiya" Jeez did endless 8 make me crazy. 8 episodes with the same plot. The movie was good, kinda reminded me of "Its a wonderful life" in a way. Im just trying to figure out who Kyon loves, Haruhi, Yuki or Mikuru.

Also the episode where Saeko and the main character go off is completely different in the anime.
Also just because the manga has fan service, doesn't make it the same. The anime relied on it heavily like a crutch. I haven't actually read it though, but from what I've been told the anime and manga are different enough to actually warrant reading the manga.

I think I'm gonna try to find Fist of the Northstar, I just got the game so I may as well check out the anime.
Yeah, based off the game. I mainly watched it to get ideas for IG regiments.
Hey I just finished valkyria chronicles recently to, i thought it was pretty good. There were one or two annoying characters, but besides that it was pretty good. It felt more like a series of in game cut scenes rather than an anime at times, I just hope they make more with a bigger budget at some point. Though I doubt thatll ever happen

Yep, sounds about right. Another anime thaat I just started watching was Tytania...ship combat in spaaaaace, political intrigue, rebels.
The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.
One anime someone has recommended to me is Aria the Scarlet Ammo (or something like that). Dunno. Could be cool. Haven't watched it yet.
Also, I heard something about an anime featuring the Vocaloids being made soon. If this is true I am soooooo tuning in. Haku Yowane FTW!

Tried to watch Rosario+vampire. Didn't even make it through the first 13 episodes.
The Vampire girl was too much of an I win button for my tastes, and most of the fights seemed just shoehorned into the episodes just so the Curbstomp Queen's Voice Actor could get paid that week.

Yeah basically, if you're not there for the shipping and cute monster girls you're really not the target audience.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'
Anyone watching Sword Art Online? It's from the same guy who wrote Accel Saga, and I have to say I like it so far.
I hunted down a English translations of the light novels to read through and was like "Damn, it's like .Hack but it doesn't suck!" I'm curious to see if the anime follows the novels. The animation quality is pretty good and they've managed to capture the sort of corny romance plot so far without it being insulting to my senses.

To clarify though, its not that I outright hate .Hack, I just always felt like the (anime's that is) story was kind of half baked. They have a cool setting, well done artwork, and an interesting premise, and then they go no where with it. I'm glaring at you Sign! Go somewhere damn it!
