Thanks. I will try and find someone to watch it with, I do enjoy watching things with people.
The one bit I'm rather hestitant about is the bit in End of Evangelion where
Spoiler:
Shinji thumbs off next to an unconscious Asuka
, it probably makes more sense when you watch it (given Shinji is slowly going insane) but even so...Ick.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Laputa: Castle In The Sky is excellent, suitable for children, but watchable by adults (and Sheeta is adorable, in the proper sense of the word).
Also, Melancholy of whatever her name is. Any good?

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the best. There's an OVA and a movie too, I think. Plus, Aya Hirano does all the songs and Haruhi's voice!
Watching Yuru Yuri... I've really been slacking. I have a list of at least:
~50 Bands to listen to
~30 Eroge, plus two miscellaneous games to play
68 Anime
2 Manga
A couple dozen console games
But I can't seem to push myself to doing any of that. It sucks! I have all the time in the world.

Despite her name, I liked her I watched the movie in class a couple years ago, and since we only had 45 minute class periods, we had to stretch it out over like five days. It's long, and the plot gets weird, but I liked it immensely.
So I just saw a clip of the Ghost Stories dub. Didn't that get talked about on here before? Either way, it was amazing and now I have to find the series online to watch.
Apparently Eroge have all sorts of endings and bonus levels and stuff. They don't take a lot of skill to play, but it takes a lot of intuition and a lot of clicking to get good endings.

Re: your spoiler yeah it makes sense in character for Shinji because he is the lamest protagonist ever.
Comic related, sorta spoilers but not to any one who vaguely knows what NGE is about.
Spoiler:
Looks like my next anime is Planetes... I really liked the manga (I read the first two books) and my buddy got the box set.
I must admit I really like Shinji as a character. He's a much more believable character than your average protagonist, with real issues. He has incredibly low self esteem, and is afraid of human contact for fear of disappointing people, a trait I can really relate to. So when this unconfident young boy is forced into a new environment and effectively made into a child soldier, piloting a "cool robot" that fills your lungs with liquid, makes you feel pain and even substain injuries when it is damaged, and later turns out to contain the soul of your dead mother...Things are bound to go wrong. Especially considering that coupled with his fear of people, out of those 3 " hot chicks" 1 dies pretty quickly, 1 is a clone of his mother and one hates his guts...Not exactly a holiday.
I know lots of people dislike him, but myself I think Shinji is one of the best protagonists in anime.

Heh heh...Wait, what?
Also, The Irresponsible Captain Taylor. Is it worth a watch?

I've read the manga and watched the first movie of Break blade. I really should pick it up again before it sinks to the bottom of the "never going to get looked at ever' pile. I quite enjoyed it actually when i got into it.

Are any of the Gundam series anything more than "OMG giant robots!"? I have heard some of them are actually pretty good.

Yes, stuff like 08th MS team focuses more on the sort of grunts and they tend to not be exaggerated. Plus it had this in it.
Not even a new type.
Stardust memories is also good despite having the occasional part like that, but it is one of the few series I've seen with a death more related to a small minor fault than 'omggiantlasorswordthroughcockpit".
Unfortunately a lot of Gundam shows have the, "OMG ITS A GUNDAM SO IT CAN'T DIE" syndrome or they are protected by incredible amounts of plot armor, and Gundam Wing is notorious for taking away this plot armor to give the pilots a newer shinier Gundam.
If I were you I'd probably stick with Mobile Suit Gundam or the MSG movie trilogy, 08th MS Team (although 08th MS team stops focusing on actual squad warfare about halfway through because the director died), Zeta Gundam, 0083 (this is all action and the plot is awful), 0080 (this one is great even if its about a little kid), and I'd also recommend Gundam X which is Gundam is an apocalyptic world.
