Just watched the first episode of Squid Girl.
Cutest, funniest thing I've ever seen. I heartily recommend it to anyone who likes a funny show.

Nope. Notice how mid-way through the series it goes from squad combat to love conquers all. IIRC its episode 6 or 7 where Shiro and Aina have that episode where they are trapped together. The focus of the series from that point on becomes almost exclusively Shiro having most of the action with the squad combat put way in the back. IMO if the original director had finished the series, the battle against Norris would have been all 4 of them figuring out a strategy to beat him rather than Shiro taking him apart.

Yes, definately watch it, it is brilliant. And incredibly low on the fanservice that so many anime have fallen victim to. I've only watched the first episode and I'm hooked.
And Squid Girl is sooooooo adorable! I watched the first episode on Crunchyroll, and their subbing is particularly good. Squidding brilliant in fact.

That fight, well that whole episode is my favorite episode of any gundam series ever. Its so sick how much of a badass noris is. How many other pilots do you know that can get their mobile suit to just turn on by voice activation?

I'm about to crush your dreams because all of the Gundam Wing pilots talk to their gundams and that scene where he says that is actually a dub fail. In the Japanese audio he tells the kid up above to move his machine for him.

It's a trope from Macross that pilots can "slave" their variable fighters to controls in their gloves and literally fly them in. So no voice controls, just freaking SIGN LANGUAGE.
Edit just for funsies

Look at my last post. While it is true that in later UC shows the pilots are slaved to their mechas, in 08th MS team that was simply a dub mistranslation.
On a side note. I love Macross. Where is this clip from? This isn't from the main show or movies at all.

No I know, I was just saying that sign language control > voice activation, dub feth up or no.
I have NO idea where this dub's from... I think the clips might be from one of the Macross Frontier movies? Maybe? I haven't seen any of the movies and don't really know that much about them except to know that....
Seriously, spoilers.
Spoiler:
I totally won the shipping war backing Alto and Sheryl! Goddess so much better chemistry then with Ranka, XD and no FETHING Tenchi solution either. Actually Goddessdamn resolution! For those of you who read this and haven't seen the movies or cheated and peaked to get this info, the love triangle resolution is in Wings of Goodbye
Edit: Rewatched it... a lot of that clip is cut up from various sources, the battleship going down for example is standard Macross Frontier. I'd guess it's an AMV.

Master Asia vs. Domon was way better.
ya i know :( but I don't speak japanese, and like the dub better :p so i choose to believe what I wish!lol I kinda remember the Wing pilots talking with their gundams, but they are one of the few who do besides Noris. An their gundam pilots, while hes just a Gouf pilot. I just think it was so much more amazing to see him do it.
An sign language is pretty cool I guess, but I don't really like macross...just preference for voice or sign language I guess.
On a different note, has anyone seen Casshern Sins?!?!? That show man. I think in life there are some things that you just can't get/fully understand. That show is one of them. I enjoyed it for the most part, tons of cool characters and character development. Pretty cool story and art style to. I just don't get it I guess. Perhaps there is just some deeper meaning or metaphor that I am missing.
Those are gundam G though. They are to the GM as the Gouf is to the Zaku II. They just look like gundams, but they are actually just fancy GMs at most.

Some of the clips are from the movie/TV show, but some of the other clips are brand new. I'm assuming that's the music video for the song Lion.
Spoiler:
The movie was meh though. It was nice to see Sheryl get Alto...if you can even call it that with that ending. It wasn't really a resolution with that ending.

The Casshern live action movie? I like it.
No the series remake from like 2008. Its only 24 episodes long, but felt like 100 lol The story is completely different from the original

Watched episode 2 of Squid Girl...The show is sheer brilliance. I am now officially hooked. De geso!
I know there is no point in shipping characters in a series that has already ended, but Ika+Sanae is my fave at the moment.

oh man....the feels :'3
There's only 12 episodes then? It's on my short term list, after Yuru Yuri, which is freaking great.
Why do you enjoy Yuru yuri? It looks very cutesy. Do you think it would appeal to others or is it aimed at youngsters?
There's an amazing amount of humor thrown in. Plus, I love all of the characters!
Oh. SAO is so mainstream... But I do like it. The last episode was like every kingdom hearts game ever. Slow, drawn out, with too much slow motion and saving throws.

I don't think it has finished yet.
But if you are talking about the one in ep 14, yeah that was rather depressing end.
ya sorry by last I meant latest. There are still supposed to be three episodes left right?
It wasn't as sad as it could have been
Spoiler:
im just glad they finally answered how the people playing the game were able to survive in the real world. Me and my friends weren't sure if it was bc they were hooked up to life support or if time just passed differently b/t the game world and real world. Like in Narnia

Isn't it bloody AMAZING!? I just wish there was more..
I really liked it but I thought they could have fleshed it out a bit more :/
also, I was expecting angels with guns.....this was amazing but it wasnt angels with guns
Yeah you get the distinct impression that they had a MUCH longer arc planned and some fethhead in management told them to cut it to the episodes we got.
Spoiler:
That's okay though, because Yui and "My Most Precious Treasure can STILL make me feel ALL the feels... like ever T_T

Just finished episode 5 of Squid Girl. The mini-Ika bit is so cute, but so sad at the end. If you don't well up a little at it, you have no soul.
