Well I just finished season 1 and I have to say I really liked the series. Like there was some parts that weren't that great or that interesting. But watching the first part of the first arc was really fun. An I really really really liked how they finished the second arc. Like the whole story being retold from the twins perspective, I thought it was pretty awesome. I'll prob start the second season soon. It is not my most favorite anime, and I am not saying it's the best. I just like think the way the story was told is pretty cool. Especially that first feeling of deja vu

You should watch the other series to. It's called Umineko: When They Cry / "When Seagulls Cry". Though it's quite different than When They Cry and pretty hard to follow. Plus some old characters return in a way that causes quite some confusion.

*rages* So I recently bought the Tenchi Muyo OVA collection and was displeased to find that to get the "complete" series you actually need to buy two different boxes. This is bloody stupid. The first two seasons are only available in a pricey DVD/Blue Ray combo pack (Thanks funimation) which is running about $40 on amazon, then you have to drop another $12 to get the last seven episodes.

It's not the most expensive anime I've bought, Neon Genesis Evangelion takes the award for that with the Platinum Edition usually going for about $100, but I worked for a seller in the dealer's room at a Con for 5 hours and got it for $30.

It just annoys me when something's listed as complete but is anything but.

I blame CLAMP a little bit for that. I like CLAMP, but their style is just totally different from Blood+ so I got in watching the first episode and was like "wtf is this the right series?" Couldn't get past it.

The 18th is episode 11 and the 25th is the 12th. We have to wait a week between episodes too. :(

Waiting one week between episodes is fine. It's when it starts getting longer than that....

Ha ha. Good point. I week wait is nothing compared to what we have waited so far. Can say that it was popular enough to perhaps get a second season made, if it was anime original that is. If it was a manga, it probably wont get anything.

I guess its a matter to taste, but I couldn't even bring myself through the first season. Got around 12 episodes and decided that it was time to stop lying to myself and stop. I just wasn't enjoying it. I can see why some people like it though. Some cool ideas but it might be the same effect jojo had on me. I didn't find that to be my favour ether.

Hi guys, new to the thread. Can anyone recommend a light hearted anime, preferably with action? Im just finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and (although its not quite as serious as the first FMA) I would like something I can mostly enjoy without having to think too much. Something similar to Fairy Tail would be good. Im not a huge fan of mechs and completely off the wall storylines but anything goes really.

A favorite of mine I would give a try is Black Lagoon. Nice, well developed characters and easy-to-follow story that has lots of action! ^_^

For SciFi Action with light tone my go to's Outlaw Star, or to lean wackier Tenchi if you don't mind a little RomCom with your action.

Cowboy bebop is another good one. Only at the end of the series is there a little more complexity. Or you could try Dragon Ball Z abridged, or Yu Yu Hakusho. Or Brave 10 is really cool. It has a lot of cool Ninja/Samurai action, and is definitely light hearted

I watched black lagoon, and I enjoyed it immensely. Sort of a modern day more gritty Cowboy Bebop IMO. Ill look into outlaw star, it looked a little on the dated side but thats not usually a bad thing.
I did watch a bit of Tenchi, its kind of hard to keep up with the family relationships when everybody is immortal but I mostly enjoyed what I saw.

Someone pointed me towards "Steins Gate", and although not the most light hearted of things, its pretty fantastic. It seems pretty slow at first, but gets intense extremely quickly at about halfway through. I was worried initially that it would be extremely confusing, being about time travel but they manage to pace it well enough that you can mostly keep up. Very compulsive watching indeed.

I seem to be very careful in my selection of what I watch and dont watch, I have done very well to avoid poor quality stuff and tend to watch the stuff that is rated the most highly.
ATM I have started watching Samurai Champloo and Berserk. Both are excellent, the ancient animation on Berserk combined with some sub par voice acting for Berserk does annoy me a little but the story is fantastic.
Samurai Champloo is particularly good. At first I was expecting "feudal Japan anime no.1284" but it is so stylised that it hardly feels like that at all. If any comparison can be drawn, it seems like Cowboy Bebop but set in feudal japan (if thats possible).

I've heard good things about both those series. I would enjoy them too I expect. Pitty I have a list of my own to grind through first. There really is a benefit to a list. It lets me remember things that I might not have watched otherwise and makes sure that I get to watch everything that I might have been wanting to watch at some point.

My anime list is awesome for that, update the episodes as you go, review, leave yourself notes, etc.

My list here: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/FenrisMarine&show=0&order=4

My recent issue has been netflix's stack of anime seeming to grow and shrink at random. For example I was watching School Rumble, Corpse Princess, Gun X Sword and a few others through Netflix and they vanished, when I went to rewatch other anime I found through netflix I really enjoyed they were gone as well but fething clannad is still there of course.
