Ok, now I started this famed "Higurashi". I hear the story is pretty good, and I have seen the nail-ripping scene (according to urban legend it gets worse).

I know what I'm starting...
Yeah : D I love that series. It has its ups and downs a bit between arcs. There are a few that were pretty awesome and mind bending though

Astarotte's Toy might be the most disturbing anime I've watched any portion of that wasn't some mindfeth level hentai. Excuse me, I'm going to go purify myself under a waterfall, that that anime exists makes me feel unclean.
In other news Total Eclipse is a pretty BA example of the Mecha genre, but MAN does it pull a bait and switch on you in the first couple episodes.
Edit: In other news they really need to change the name of Bodacious Space Pirates, I'm five episodes in and barring a SERIOUS tone shift this is actually a pretty awesome space pirate anime, with a leading female who Harlock himself would be proud to call his daughter if she were so.
I wanna be a space pirate, stupid being born in the wrong century T_T

I didn't find it that bad at all. Hmmm, I didn't feel much at all after watching it, I recall I that I actually enjoyed it to a degree. It didn't seem any worse than some other ecchi/haram anime. it just had a fantastic cast. The daughter was funny, especially when they went to school. I enjoyed that episode.... I can't really remember much else except that they had to leave was quite sad.

You thought it was that bad? The jokes are priceless. At least the one with the Queens bodyguard.
It's far off from being the most disturbing thing around.
I've re-watched Black Rock Shooter, Strikers and Halo Legends - Homecoming.
Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
I'm gonna say it now. The movie is completely different, and critically acclaimed to be much worse. Be careful before watching it. You might just not like it since its very very different from the series.
Soladrin wrote: Almost done with Civilization blaster, last episode should be up this weekend. Loved it so far, 4 episodes go.
Probably gonna start watching Guilty Crown or Eureka Seven after that. (read that as, marathon both this weekend.)

An those were some pretty accurate descriptions of some mecha anime, 08th MS team is really well done. The only other mecha anime I would recommend besides more Gundam series would be Break Blade. Kinda funky and unique style, definitely not for everyone. I enjoyed though, so I'm a little biased.
Good Mecha you say? Go watch Code Geass and Full Metal Panic before I slap you. Also, add Macross to that.
And honestly, Gungrave was awesome untill the funky gak started happening.
Ledabot, if you want to get the feels from a series, go watch Saikano, have fun sobbing.
Woops I missed this. I actually didn't like either of those anime. I don't like the premise or the way the mechs look in either of them
Wow Tempest sure got really stupid really fast

Burst of Tempest? Really? I enjoyed it the whole way through.
Recommendation of the now: Bodacious Space Pirates, winner of my prestigious 2012 "Anime that Badly Needs a Rename" award is a fairly awesome anime about space, and pirates. Really if you need much more then that you're beyond help. Also the OP features the unholy merging of an idol group and a former guitarist from Megadeth which is really worth a listen just for the spectacle.

^ Idk its not at all what I thought it was going to be based ont he first few episodes, it just changed. Ever since the episode where they were like Wait but blah blah blah about all the conspiracy stuff for 3 episodes straight. An the "logic" and "anti" logic of the trees, its all just become to much. Its to ridiculous for me. An all the conspiracy and plotting is just making me want to throw up. il finish it though so I can have an actual judgement on it. there is only one redeeming factor, only one thing that interests me about the show
Spoiler:
The whole secret love story between Yoshino and the guys sister, thats it!
I do suggest you finish then, that particular plot line pays off big time when you find out who the murderer is. I admit I really enjoyed the insanely convoluted nature of this anime. Especially when they do actually tie it all together! The ending was also truly satisfying on a variety of levels for me. The following is spoilerish as it reveals the tone of the ending, and honestly I think the suspense of how the story ends is a major part of what kept me watching, if you intend to continue, or if dear reader you have yet to watch this anime and might pick it up in the future, then I suggest you not click the spoiler button.
Spoiler:
It ends as real life does, neither tragedy nor comedy, a romance, nor an adventure, our lives are stories with all these elements woven into them and end is a beginning that hasn't been written yet, for we have many endings and many beginnings in our little lives, many plays to act, and stories to tell before our final curtain call, so to does the cast of our story in question.
I also enjoyed the constant quoting of two of Shakespeare's plays. One because I'm a terrible literary dork and that's just how I do things, but also because the quotes are quite appropriate and well used as opposed to the writers just throwing out their literary nerd cred. There's some serious brick references here, with one quote in particular coming back to smack me in the head at one point and leaving me kinda flabbergasted.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
-Hamlet Act 1, scene 5, 159–167
For the record, Tempest got a 10/10 for me, and I'm a ************ about handing out perfect score ratings, usually they go to stuff from my childhood that nostalgia improves.

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

I disagree. I think that's just about the best name for an anime ever. Still a better name than BTOOOOM!
In terms of best episode name, that award goes to Excel Saga with "Increase The Ratings Week" and Chobits with "Chi Doesn't Do Anything".

And yes "Increase The Ratings Week" was hilarious.
I think by Japanese law all hot springs or beach episodes should be titled "obligatory fan service episode"
Yes. Definitely.
Also, End of Evangelion should be retitled Everyone Fething Dies: The Movie, Episode 22 and 23 of Evangelion should be retitled Please Please Please Make It Stop and Is That...? Oh No. Just No. This Time You've Gone Too Far, Anno. That's Just Sick... respectively.

I just finished watching Girls und Panzer. It's absolutely awesome.
Tanks... tanks everywhere. Even the WW2 songs are pretty funny.

meeehhh. Idk I didn't really watch it or anime in general for a real life experience, I can live that : P 6/10, and that's being really really generous
Spoiler:
pretty unique to have a build up of twist twist twist, your never gonna guess the ending. Who did? She killed her self. Better than Shamalamadingdongs twists at least.
The Shakespeare quoting felt forced most of the time, I would have liked it to be more subtle, I hate being explained everything in plain and blunt conversation, just one of my pet peeves with most anime.
I didn't like how you could never take anything that was supposed to be serious as serious, its was all like one big satirical joke
Finally I hated every character but the main two, mainly just Mario, Yoshi was ok
Not saying it is necessarily a bad anime, just bad to me. I don't generally like anime I can't take seriously or a lot of comic relief

Mostly into the more serious stuff, not a fan of japanese slapstick nonsense if that's all there is.
Some favs off the top of my head.
Berserk
NGE
Code Geass
Gundam (most of them)
Durarara
Darker Then Black
Gungrave
Saikano
Law of Ueki
FMA
Trigun
Ghost in the Shell (movies and series)
Air Gear
List go's on and on. Though I read more manga then watch anime, and pretty much only read the more mature series. (berserk, Shingeki no Kyojin, Ookami no Monshou etc.)
