Been watching Attack on Titan, pretty solid series, the concept intrigued me, and then the gak show that was episode 5 happened, and I almost stopped watching it .
I'll look for some of these other shows being mentioned and see if I can't get my hands on them.

There's almost no mecha combat in Gargantia though so I'm not sure it counts as a good giant robot anime. It's more slice of life, coming of age, fish out of water stuff. I mean sure, the locals have some mechas of their own, and there are some fights, but its the equivalent of a Gundam fighting a fork lift, maybe the power loader from Aliens if you're generous.
I've been really enjoying Gargantia. I think it's a very impressive show that demonstrates a clash of cultures as well as drama and excellent character development.
Sorry, very few awesome mecha battle sequences. All plot all the way (The way I like it)
Taking up Deadman Wonderland, my frequently anime-watching friend said it my suit me. I know nothing else than that it's probably very gory and that my version is uncensored.

The latest - Mobile Suit Gundam AGE?
Something else?
My God my friend...I have seen every series and piece of animation that's involved Gundam except for AGE and the last episode of Unicorn, but I am about to start AGE. I just recently finished Turn a Gundam and After War Gundam X. Both were pretty good, nothing spectacular though. My personal favorite for best of the best are
08th MS team- it's only like 13 episodes long so it might be a good one to start with
083 Stardust Memories- It isn't that long either, but it's pretty good to
Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny- like 100 episodes together. Lotta characters and a lot of fighting
Man there really is a lack of anything techy. If anything there's magic type stuff and that's it. Out of that list a page back I think there was one show that didn't have high school girls. I do want to see the one that's about China.
Gundam Wing is always considered a classic, and if you like hot blooded fighter type stuff G Gundam is really enjoyable on that score, it also has a bit less drama then the average Gundam show. If you want to see how Gundam does Hardcore (in the brutal reality of military combat/warfare sense) 8th MS Team is freaking awesome.
I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long
And yes. Watching Shun in Seed was like watching Shinji without any of Evangelion's charm roll his way down a rocky hill and hit the bottom and cry about how he slipped and twisted his ankle. (Well just include Camille from Z Gundam in this club too )

Attack on Titan has now officially redeemed itself for that horribly slow start up. It takes awhile to get there, but sweet mother of god, this last episode...

You made me look!
And it looks very interesting!
Where the heck are you watching it and staying up to date?
Hey guys - was thinking of picking up the original TV series of Fist of the North Star. However, I've since seen that there is a 'New Fist of the North Star' that has been released.
Anyone know if it is any good, and should I buy it instead of the original series boxset?

I don't know much 'bout FotNS, though I've been looking, but you should look up JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. If rumors I've heard are true at all ,they are somewhat similar-ish.
Aghhhhhhhhh tried some of the new series I haven't been watching so far
Some short reactions:
Majestic Prince - Blegh
Samurai Bride - Kill it with fire
Photo Kano: I really liked this anime for this first six episodes, then it becomes painfully obvious this is based on a dating sim. After episode six with the "main route" beaten it switches to do the rest of the routes in one episode recaps. However while I normally want to face palm through my own face with that kind of set up PK pulls it off with style. I still can't tell if it's a fan service show or not, it keeps switching on me. Recommend.

Also my reaction to Majestic Prince. I was 'eeeeh' when Gargantia had the obligatory beach episode five eps in, Prince had one 3 episodes in. That must be some kind of record.
Another vote for Attack on Titan, usually I never really like anime, well I am a noob at this stuff so I dont know if Dragon Ball Z counts but this I can really just sit back and watch and enjoy it, very entertaining and love seeing the fight scenes, just kicking myself as I read some manga strips and ruined it for me.

Finally caught up with Attack on Titan. Took it a while to get it going I say. (and I thought the twist with Eren was a bit predictable, since it would be silly to kill off the MC so early in the series).
