Anyone know where I can watch the Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies that have come out so far? I haven't seen them on any streaming site, and I don't know if they're on DVD/Blu-Ray or not.

If you're in the UK, I've seen them in HMV in a few places. It got released on DVD over here a few months back.

They are talking about the movies, not the TV series

Oh, yeah.

The first two are recap movies anyway, so won't have much new stuff. The 3rd one with the content isn't out until October 27 anyway.

I've been watching Speed Grapher.

The first episode was a bit...much, but the second episode really drew me in and got me hooked.

For those who have not seen it, Imagine a world without cold Showers.

episode 2 for danganronpa is out, I thought it was pretty good. They are definitely not slowing down the plot for anything, not even to develop their wide assortment of characters : P

Spoiler:
any idea for who done did it? (killed the first girl)

An oh yea a couple of episodes of AOT have come out...14 wasn't so bad. We got to learn a little bit about the other military groups and political factions. An a little bit about the newly introduced characters.

Spoiler:
they really wanted to make sure that trial thing took up a whole episode though

I will...never be a memory

I'm finally getting around to watching Sword Art Online and I'm on episode 12. So far its been good, but I know that after the break they took the show takes a dive. I also found out that the anime doesn't end the series and that it continues in the books which to me is disappointing. =(

The season two of Sword Art is not Bad, it's just not as good as the first season, and the ending of it is still a suitable closure for the series if they do not make anymore of it.

The only original thing good this summer is Attack on Titan. Which mind you is pretty good.

Oh and maybe some show involving a fairy apocalypse. At least it's original in premise which is hard to come by.

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

I've watched most of the second arc today and I have to say its really good. I don't get why everyone hates on it. Is it the ending? I'm two episodes away from it ending and I don't see this going downhill to be honest.

Like I said, I didn't hate the second season, and I don't think it's bad, I just think the first season was better.

I hate the second season, but i also thought the show was bad overall. So i didn't think the second season was a lot worse than the first, I just thought the show was bad in general : p

Right, now I'm waiting for Gundam Unicorn 7, does anyone have any recent-ish mecha shows they would recommend in the meantime while I wait for it to be released?

(or classic shows they recommend, like pre 1995)

I didn't watch the second season of Sword Art Online. The ending of the first season was perfect. I had no interest in ruining that.

Keep it that way, second season is crap in comparison.

Yeah like, how amazing is that last episode of season 1? That last shot as the credits roll? Goosebumps. That's the perfect ending.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann by Gainax (it's from 2007, does that count?). Simply put; Robots powered by the literal raw stuff of awesome, ridiculously OTT battles, epic speeches, one of the best soundtracks ever, beautiful animated wimminz (with the beloved Gainax Bounce) a cute mole thingy, drills, and enough hot-blooded manly GAR to blow up a star. (To give you an idea, a guy challenges a giant robot, armed only with a katana, and gets away with it. In another scene, 2 characters sucessfully destroy a quarter of the invading enemy fleet by giving an epic speech.)

Watch it. Now.

Also, I have heard Code Geass is pretty good.

Gurren Lagann will break you for all other mecha anime. It's such a perfect deconstruction of the genre that all others will feel bland and boring beside it.

Do not watch it unless you are truly finished enjoying all of the others.

You should say Super Robot anime, not mecha anime. Real Robot Anime is not deconstructed by TTGL.

You could watch Valvrave or Gargantia. Both are really good IMO. Majestic Prince is also an option, but its sillier than anything you'll find in Gundam. All 3 shows are on Crunchy roll as well.

I finished it and I thought it was good. ALfheim Online would be awesome as a real MMO.

Quoted for truth. I gave up at episode 15, the first season was outstanding and the second season just couldn't hang in comparison. I could have done with S1 being double in length, but otherwise top to bottom, start to finish, SAO S1 is glorious. (and dat romance arc! With actual pay off instead of wishy washy horse gak! that alone is enough to sell me)

Random technicality. I believe both of what we call season one and season two of Sword Art Online are actually just season one with two separate story arcs.

What..? Hardly... I loved Gurren Lagann, don't get me wrong. But I vastly prefer watching Gundam and the like where there is an actual political plot involved etc. Gurren was random fun, but that was all it was to me.

and Gurren Lagan will never compare to the awesome that is Gundam 08th MS Team

To be fair, they're both great for opposite reasons.

08th MS Team is great because, well, it's the Vietnam War with giant robots, and it's a deep, engaging series.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is great because it's the biggest, manliest, most awesome OTT love letter to the Super Robot genre ever.

Glad to be of service!

Just do yourself a favour and watch it subbed. The dub is...mediocre. It's not that bad, but compared to the guttural awesomesauce that was the original Japanese it can't compare. Especially noticeable with Kamina. In the English he's very "meh". In the Japanese his voice is like liquid gold mixed with sex. "Giga...Dorrrriiiirrruuuu....BUUUUURRRRRREEEEAAAAKKKKAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"

True enough, Gurren Lagan is the master of the hot blooded robot genre.

I have a pretty strict rule of never watching a show that exceeds 26 episodes. (not counting clip-shows)

If you can't tell your story properly in 8 hours, then you're not very good at storytelling.
