I don't know why but whenever I hear Slayers mentioned, I keep thinking it's like that Berserk anime. Is it any good? (Slayers I mean)

It's ok. It is very, very dated though. It was made in 1997, but I keep thinking it's older. The dub isn't that great, but the English version of Lina Inverse is pretty fun.

I was very, very surprised 8 years ago when I started university and I discovered Slayers was on TV (6:30 in the morning. Possibly earlier since I had classes around 8am, I think) and it was Portuguese dubbed. What was more surprising is how well made the dub was, how good the show was (the D&D vibe was so incredible) how I didn't know about that show and how much I didn't mind waking up early from that moment on.

So, because I decided to start going to the Gym once again (The place I consider hell on earth and I'm forced to go since, ya know, I kinda want to walk, not roll) got myself a cool PocketPad and got me dem Infinite Stratos S1 you gents all seem to love to watch and fight the damn boredom. I still haven't met the girl I think it's the Ayanami Rei of the show (eyepatch one) but I absolutely loved Lingyin Huang:

- Cute Fang
- Her mech has a freakin' double bladed sword! Now that's seriously awesome!

Kinda annoyed how they resolved the lord of darkness arc. I mean, 2 episodes after he comes back, and they beat him? That was underwhelming :/

Could have been worse. They could have pulled out the old "throw in that villain that was never introduced but is eeeeeeevil and is the most dangerous" thing.

I always liked Slayers. Wish they'd make more of it.

They made like 4 seasons, movies and a couple of OVAs. How much more is needed?

Watched the four available episodes of Arpeggio of Blue Steel.

Pretty interesting concept and show thus far. I don't have many comments, other than I'm going to keep up with it, and therefore it's reasonably good in my book.

This is scary how many people are getting into IS now. Not that I mind but still. (Also Charlotte and Houki will always be best girls for me).

And hey, that is what I do when I box, lift, or Jump Rope at my house is to catch up on my anime backlog (also which I do with painting my minis as well).

I feel weird for leaving IS2 out of my watch list this season. The first season only got an average but watchable from me, so I didn't expect much from the second.

Started Watching Ergo Proxy a while ago but have not picked back up on it yet since I had other things to catch up on. 4 Episodes in, but I like it so far.

Also, am I the only one who likes Evangelion and a Fan of it, while not being like the "true fans" that bash any other series that is experimental or different and not a Pseudo-Intellectual a-hole? :/

I thought the first season was mediocre. So far the second season (baring the latest episode which was just filler fluff) is better as they've not had to introduce the harem and are thus doing more story plot. The new mecha designs are also much more original compared to the hero's rather generic ones.

I haven't laughed that hard in at least like...a week...maybe two...which might not seem like very long but I just got through a bunch of Halloween parties with a bunch of drunk future lawyers, and that is absolutely hilarious, so this is saying something. I can't believe I ever forgot about Great Teacher Onizuka. I'm not sure how realistic it is actually, but the guy is absolutely brilliant as a character.

No, I enjoyed watching Evangelion. Although, I am rather open (as previously demonstrated) to criticizing and deconstructing Shinji's character.
Working out while watching anime does sound more enjoyable.
What funny is I listen to various anime soundtracks while I paint my minis, and they end up coming out a lot better, and quicker, then w/o the music.

Indeed, it is fun to do that (and many of the other characters of the series, but Shinji's is the most fun to do ).

And yeah, it actually helps me keep me going (although I cannot do that much on runs, but that is no big deal), plus, as I said, this and painting while I watch it helps clear up my backlog a bit.

Evangelion is my favorite anime and I too have an open mind when it comes to other "experimental" animes. Eck, I didn't even know that's what "true fans" do.

I can't watch anime while painting... if I understood what they were saying, maybe, but for now the only thing hobby related I risk doing while watching anime is removing stuff from sprues, cleaning them up and assembly.

Char Aznable is one of the main antagonists in the original Mobile Suit Gundam, as well as a recurring character throughout a lot of the UC Gundam series. He is also the most "copied" character in all of Gundam as evidenced.
