Speaking of Christmas, I'm spending my break, against the advice of the internet, watching Fate/Zero before having watched Fate/Stay Night.

In my defense: A) it's on Netflix, and B) Saber in a suit

Damn straight. Saber in a suit is A+.

And the internet must be nuts. Fate/Zero is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night so it kinda makes sense to watch it first. Well, unless you didn't want to be disappointed, I guess, since Zero is so much better <3

Yeah, that was the long and short of it.

Although, since I know that going in, I should be prepared. And if not, that's what beer is for

So I was sitting around bored and decided to watch an episode maybe two of Parasyte, as I'd heard some good things. Wound up marathoning all the way to episode 11, and only because they didn't have any more. I have to say it's extremely compelling and does a great job of keeping the tension up. I'm a bit worried how it'll hold up outside of binge-watching sessions. It moves along at much faster pace than I usual like and while that's part of what kept me engaged, I'm not sure the relatively thin characters and limited detail will be enough to keep me coming back without the momentum of back-to-back viewings.

Episode 12 is up now subbed (in english) and all.

Ok, Amagi Brilliant Park is ... brilliant watched 3 more episodes yesterday and so far it's been one hell of a surprise. It's fun, it's up-beat, the characters are interesting, in short, all a light comedy anime should have. The expressions on the cute mascot characters are fantastic xD On these two most of all:

My advice is skip the original Fate/Stay Night anime and watch the new one.

Yeah, naruto's not the best show in that regard...

Ok I very much respect the creators of naruto now. not many people would have the guts to show a little girl getting the gak beat out of her on a semi-kids show.

Are Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Stay Night different continuities because they follow different routes of the VN? This may affect my viewing order, is why I ask.

Fate/Stay Night (the visual novel the Anime's are based on) has 3 story routes; Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heavens Feel. The main difference between them is the primary character. Shirou, Rin, and Sakura respectively. Each route differs in terms of how the story develops.

The first F/SN Anime was loosely based on the Fate route. But personally I find that anime preposterously boring for how popular it is.

The current remake, F/SN Unlimited Blade Works (despite its name), thus far adheres more closely to the Visual Novel and seems to be a fusion of the Fate and Unlimited Blade Works routes. By and far I find the current anime vastly superior and you aren't really missing too much by watching it over the original. IMO.

Ok, so I watched 8 episodes of Amagi Brilliant Park, and it's making me re-evaluate what kind of show I enjoy:

I was watching Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist), I'd got to episode 22 and I was pumped to see the next one...
But now I don't care about the son of satan killing demons, instead, I'm more interested in whether an amusement park run by fairies can get 500,000 visitors in 80 days. Draconic Lord, I blame you for this!

It reminds me of the style of No Game No Life, it's sort of sickly-sweet, and it's utterly daft, but somehow it's still very watchable!

Well, that's Fate/Zero done.

Wow... I... need a minute... and then some Amagi Brilliant Park.

Spoiler:
I think Waver's the only who came outta that mess in decent shape. With Kiritsugu a distant, distant second.

Guess it's on to Unlimited Blade Works. When I recovered from this ride, at least.

Yeah, I think

Spoiler:
Only Waver and Gilgamesh got away from it in any decent shape. Rider was an amazing character, he was the comic relief, a hero, a key plot element, a friend and one hell of a King. Hell, when Gilgamesh himself respects him, you know he's awesome. (I love how Saber was schooled hard core in the meeting of the 3 Kings) and yet the poor guy still had to die.

Well, I've finished Amagi Brilliant Park and it's amazing how tense I was in those final moments.

Spoiler:
And Tirami really showed what it means to be a team-player xD Gods, I love that cat so much . And to me, the rape-face kids are one of the best things of the show: I lost it when they did things like sniffing around and saying "I smell a girl" with their rape-face on.

I also found very interesting how this season finished with the Wizard still active and the curse technically still active. Here's hoping for a future season

Iskander is probably my favorite character in all of Fate. He was epic in every way that matter XD

Spoiler:
Definitely agree that Weaver come out better for ware, but really by far the one who really gained from the war was Gilgamesh who got exactly what he wanted. Kiritsugu on the other hand got absolutely destroyed by the outcome.

I watched 650 episodes of one piece in less then 3 weeks, I don't know how that happened either.

504 hours in three weeks.
twenty minutes per episode, 650 divided by three is 216.33recuring.
504 - 216 =288.
288 - six hours for sleeping every day.
288- (21x6) =163.

216 waking hours spent watching one peice. 163 waking hours spent not watching one peice.
now that that math is over, I'm going to sleep.

Haha, to be fair, I quick skipped through filler episodes so not entirely sure how many full episodes it comes down to.
