Very quite around here as of late mate

Sorry for being out of action as of late but you know how it happens - work, family, choclate cakes...

I see rodents tried to hijack my thread,.. nice try!

I keep working on my stuff but there is lot's to do yet so no WIP pics... BUT!

I got the casts today... My very first casts made from my own sculpts! Here are the pics!



20 of each (head, torso, shoulder)










As you can see the quality of casting is super cool while my sculpting have a room to improve =/ Should spend more time polishing the surfaces from now on... but that was a test-drive stuff anyway and for the first time I think I did fine.

thoughts? mate...atm you should have a sore shoulder for slapping your own back of the cool work of yours that came to fruition! no go and build some squads of these and show them to us

Vik I'm working as hard as I can considering the work and cakes... oh, and family! =)
The legs for the set are 2/3 done, then arms and that'll be all for the basics. I'll also throw in some additional weapons and equipment. Wish I can do things quicker...

They look great mate at first I thought it was a bag of standard parts till I started reading the casting is pretty dam fantastic whoever done that knows their stuff
The head is my favourite piece so far looks brilliant mate that has turned out really well cant wait to see the legs as well and maybe a mock picture just to tease us some more

Thx guys! I ordered the shotguns and the sniper arm casts for further converting and I have plans for 2 more orders in a month time for legs and other parts. Just need to focus on it... so many ideas in my head but as Henry Miller said: "forget about the books you wanna write, focus on the one you're writing".

A bit of an update on my progress...

The second pair of legs looks rather complete. A you can see from the pics, I had to resculpt the plaiting on the left hip due to the extremly crappy GW casting The more I work with their stuff the more they disappoint me... doh...






And some more pre-assembled pics with the new legs and other new stuff
You can see the new head variant with other expression and the first of the special equipment modules - the suit-mounted overshoulder missile launcher! Specially designed to give Synapse foot soldiers an extra edge against fast moving, lightly armored vehicles.

That would have been a major update if it was me, I have to say love the shoulder mounted mini launcher very Iron Man and the new head looks great although the expression looks a bit scared.

As for the new legs I can see the poor quality of the GW mini sculpt that is really quite bad indeed, but you have corrected it well and looks complete.

These are coming on really well and the detail is crisp and clean great job, also like the foot angle on the leg to keep the look right.

I'd say the face expression looks dumb, like he was brainwashed... After all, isn't it so?

Guys, this it's a SM scout face kinda fits the idea of dumb-agressive grin imo and the paintjob will define how that will look. I believe that it's more Dredd-like, in his most calm state

man that is so true... and very good of you to solve it... looks very good now... i hope the redshirts are not taking notes atm... but if.... at least they would take them from the right guy...

the shoulder mounted rocket launcher is looking very good... and i think the new face is looking very fitting for mind controlled soldiers...

Vik, could you expain please what you refer to with the redshirts metaphor? I know that it's some Star Trek meme but not shure I get it =\

We don't have any official GW representatives in Russia =) Probably they're just too scared of vodka-drunk bears to try sneak around
