Thanks LDD!

I like the Plaguebearers too, they were fun to sculpt.

The Huron Shoulder Pads are conversions! Just pads I made for Plague Marines, with a screaming face on them.

The soul-shreaking armor is really not hard to do! I just slopped the stuff on, made sure it was within the "borders" of the armor, and then the faces are just simple "ghost" faces.

Oh, and the "Stuff" I use is ProCreate. Or Grey Stuff. I like it better than Green Stuff.

Side pics of the Blastmaster:

@ Bama - Paint will be a long way off. I might even hire it out when I feel the models are done. And Thanks!

@ Anvildude - I never did like the "Rock Band" look of the Noise Marines. Huge reason I waited this long to even try them. And in case no one noticed, the Sonic Blasters the 3 have are old Ork Shootas from 2nd Edition! I never thought I'd get any use out of them!

Thanks El Vik!

Oh, I almost forgot! I am making a Conversion Beamer for my buddy who gave me the Land Raider! Let me know what you think of it so far!
It will be mounted on the top of a Backpack with a Servo-Style arm.

Thank for stopping by!

The shoulder pad is pretty nice, I like the fact it's not over the top but stands out enough to make an impact.

I thought it was ProCreate is that easier to use than GS then ? I keep thinking about trying it but not sure what the actual benefit is.

Yes, I have some old marine models nocking around somewhere so might give it a go just for fun, I was never a fan of the guitar marines myself they look cool but just to odd to use in the end.

The blastmaster looks pretty cool but maybe would benefit from a band round the large tube section, just to brake up the length a little.

The beamer is looking pretty nifty and love the way you used a screw work of genius

I think he will be happy with your work, also love the old Skool Marine pack there

Thanks Theophony!

LDD, Yes, I think ProCreate is eaiser to use than Green Stuff, Others dissagree, purely a personal preference. Try it, you might like it. The Blast Master is not done, I want to add all sorts of Chaosy tubes, and "fleshy" bits like the newer Chaos stuff seems to have, like half grown-over technical bits. I'm not sure how to describe it. I am hoping the screw in the Beamer will look like some kind of Hyped up plasma coils or a reactor of some sort.

The hardest part with the screw in the beamer was cutting the plastic tube to see the screw through! Oh, and finding a screw that fit just right.

I think I know what you mean as to the blaster I am sure it will look the part once you are finished with it

I will give ProCreate a go just to see the potential, I liked the look of the screw and you can only tell what it is in its pre painted form.

Yes, I was wondering about cutting the section out on the tubing, last time I tried something similar I but the drill bit through both sides and into my finger 3 times

OooooO! I can't wait to see that come about Vik!

SO, here are some Size comparison shots of the My Little Commissar...

I really need to paint Mr. Thumb's Up.

And also some pics of the latest thing to strike my fancy... Chaos Spawn!
Converted from an old 2nd Edition Chaos Beast Man, and 2nd Edition Genestealers. Just 2 so far, planning on more.
The Beast Man one...the orb above his head will be an eye stalk.

The Genestealer one.

Obviously lots more to do on them, but like most of my projects...you get the idea.

I have a third actually, still in the early stages, but if I can pull off what I have in mind for it, it will freak you out! At least I hope so.

And thanks!

I have been feeling under the weather today. But not too much under to not be able to sit and sculpt. I have something cool to show in a bit.

OK, so I threw this guy together a few minutes ago. No arms yet, but those will follow when the torso cures.

It's not perfect, but it's a Zombie! Doesn't have to be.

I figure I can mass produce these suckers to give me a couple of squads of Plague Zombies for when I want to field Typhus! Muahahaha!

Makes sense really as you said being Zombies they don't have to be perfect, so far it looks quite good like the rib cage showing through.

I find most zombies on the market are either under sized to thin looking or just to cartoony ( yes GW ) Puppetwars make a nice looking set but with a price

So this way you get what you want and as many, plus with a couple of sets of arms and heads you can alter the pose and looks quite easily.

Nice conversions and sculpting work. I am impressed how easily you made those savage orks work as plaguebears. And i am myself a big fan of converted HQ units like your Huron or Lucius. But i think that Lucius would greatly improve with a loincloth/tarbard piece made out of human skin.

And i agree the bass blaster needs some additional details to break with the long tube like look. I'm looking forward for what you will come up with.

And your latest work the zombie looks promising. The head really looks the part, rotten and sick. But ppersonally i'd redo the feet and try to sculpt them with visible bones or at least try to create some bonelike structure visible under the skin.

Thanks guys!

LDD - the zombie will stand slightly taller then a guardsman, but all of my models are slightly too tall. Odd. And I was thinking if I made one set of straight arms, and one set bent at the elbow, that should give enough posing options. and maybe another head.

Dave - Thanks. These'll just be for me though. Maybe.

btldoomhammer - Thanks! I'll look into giving Lucius a tabard/loin thingy. As for the zombie feet, I actually gave the feet more detail when I saw the pictures when uploading them. So they already have more detail! The one did look all fresh and smooth, I gave the feet some arches too.

I'd make several separate arms for variety.

i think the zombie idea was something you had to come up with eventually for your own army needs... and you did a wonderful job on him/it?...how do you plan on working from here on? needs some arms...who needs an (h)-armless zombie, eh? ^^do you plan on making the whole concept modular? to provide you with the needed diversity?

Made in us
Frenzied Berserker Terminator

Everett, WA

Yep, just finished the arms. No hands yet, just nubs where they will go. I'll wait for the arms to cure before I tackle the hands. Just started on the second zombie body. So I think 2 bodies, 2 heads and 2 sets of arms will give enough variety for now.

So, should the second head be similar to the first? Or maybe missing the jaw? Just a tounge hanging?

One thing I noticed is completely missing from the market..the most common and needed torso EVER..a simple men's button-up shirt! - ALL the famous zombie-hunters wear them, yet it is completely unrepresented in 28mm..why?

I can't make any of the men from the Walking dead..because I have no shirt!
..>AND..I'm afraid they will kill them off as soon as I'm done with the mini

I think there is way to many holes in the market as to parts, torso's being a major issue along with arm choices.

The only buttoned shirt torso I have seen is by Blightwheel miniatures, the only issue I had with it is it is slightly higher than most other manufactures torsos.

I want some heroic or large scale suit wearing miniatures but cant find any.

I know that but compared to the bulky heroic scale I use the zombie miniatures around are more realistically sized (except GW ), which means they look thinner compared to the heroic scaled mini's.
