Kepora: Sure thing.

Body: Daemon prince torso
Back: Shooty bit of a Soulgrinder forearm.
Arms: Hellpit abomination, cut at the elbows and shoulders, lenghtened and resculpted.
Head: Zombie dragon jaws cut up and resculpted.
Legs: Zombie dragon
Spider "arm" : Arachnarok
Spider bits: Spawn kit.

Long time, no update. I got a new job, and it's always a bit hard when everythings unfamiliar, so I haven't had too much spare time.

Anyway, I bought Dark Vengeance today, and while I like the basic idea of the Helbrute, I wasn't sold on the pose, so I changed it up a bit. I'm still not sure if it's going to be painted for my Death Guard army, or if I should go nuts and paint a small warband of Slaanesh or Tzeentch followers.

Lone Lictor: Forgot the painting tutorial. Like the rest of the army, it's really simple:

Basecoat bleached bone
Wash with dilluted mix of sepia and thraka green
Paint all recesses with badab black
Wash all buboes and boils with baal red
Tamiya clear red for sores and blood.

The only problem with the Hellbrute is that the head is angled to match the pose, though readjusting it shouldn't be too hard.

I am not sold on it's pose either. I like what you have done with it, though, and may emulate a bit. I would like to see if it is possible to move the arms a little. I have two so I may experiment with it......

I like it! Do Nurgle! It is just crying out to be painted like nurgle! And who want pink in their army of tough men eh? ;D

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Although Tzeentch would work quite well, but then you would probably need Tzeentch marines to go with it, which is a whole different story...

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

I'm wondering if the Hellbrute has any peripheral vision? It looks like all it can see is a direct 90 degree field of vision. Not sure I even like the stock model yet, will have to see it in person and check the stats that come with it.

Given the look I would have to say it has a 90 degree FoV, however being Chaos and all it could have a form of a sixth sense. I find the stock model pretty sweet. Its the Cultists I'm not sold on, some look good and some look naff.

Regardless, the Hellbrute conversion is pretty cool.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

You're looking at only the "human" eyes; look at all the other extra eyes it grew! If FoV is a problem, can just have one spawn more....

If it has THAT many eyes, I'd recommend Tzeentch.

How many eyes does it have?

The greater daemon, fully painted, is a triumph. Just a beautiful piece of work.

And I like the plaguebearers in the same paint scheme. Makes the GW models look much better, IMO, than they do in olive green hues.

Yup - white undercoat, then a mixture of sepia and green wash, dilluted, recesses painted with black or devlan mud.

The stuff you create is just insane. The Plaguebearers and the Greater Daemon (or as I shall call it, the Rotfiend) look amazing. The Hellbrute repose looks great too.

One thing you could do for the Hellbrute is use the decaptitated heads from the Plaguebearer kit on the fist or the banner.
