Hi everybody !
I'm back with a (big) Naashti. See his Jade triad victim, for size comparison.

I'll post a new naashti on my blog everyday until the group is fully painted. Check this out.

So, for today... here's the Strangler of Dal~Eth. Hope you'll like him.

I dunno Minus.... not quite sure about the glossy blue on the head...

(just my opinion so feel free to ignore)

I actually really dig the glossy blue, on his head or wherever (though his back is obviously the main eye / light catcher)

Hmmmm. And that's the first 'hmmmm' I've ever had on your work. The green skin is lush, the purple is totally Minus. But the glossy blue stuff..... I guess I just don't get it. Is it part of his skin colouring or slime or...... If you look st his back, the glossy blue seems more like it's not part of the character but something else. I guess I just don't get it. Sorry Minus :/

Hi guys !
I have no problem with criticism. On the contrary, it helps getting better and proves that the compliments are sincere.

So, why are my snakes "glossy" ?
There are two reasons for this. First one is that I wanted to show that snakes scales are glossy, and it's especially visible on dark ones. Let's say, for exemple, that one :

Most of the Naashtis have sculpted scales on their back and upper part of their head.
See Suul~Koor'z for instance :

At first, I highlighted each single scale individually, but it takes forever and the result is not as good as I expected. The best solution I found to get an interesting effect was using gloss varnish. The result is more convincing IRL since you can see the light play on the eddges as you turn the models.
Thus all my Naashtis have a darker blue back, with glossy effect. So does the Choker, even if there are no scales sculpted on his back.

The second reason is that I focus on contrast with this band. Almost everything is highlighted with white, I use fluo paints, complimentary colors and also play on mat/glossy surfaces. It makes them really pop on the table, even my orange convoy looks almost dull beside my Naashtis. As Boss Salvage says, the glossy backs are eyecatching, as the weapons are, and that's what I wanted.

Now, to be honest, when I decide on such schemes, like for my Convoy or my Askaris, I know that not everyone will love them. That's part of the game.
In my topics (or on my blog) always feel free to criticize and to be sorry for it. Comment, be honest, say what you like but also what you don't, both are important. I really mean it, I learned everything from forums feedbacks (and I think I made little progress since I started), I have no jedi master who taught me everything regarding the secrets of acrylics.

And here comes another Naashti, the group's alchemist. Master of the lava, he can control fire. I painted his hand palms like he's casting some spell.

"Top banana"
It makes me laugh every time I read it.

I needed a second lancer for my faction, and since there's only one model at the moment, I made a conversion. I added arms and changed weapons on a Sentinel. Now I have a Cobra lancer !

They look incredible. Really nice job. Like others not sure of the blue. Don't mind the shiny, just not absolutely sold on the blue. I think I like it, but I am not in love. That is not a bad thing, we all have different points of view.

Oh man... I've been away for way too long !
I've had some really busy months lately, but I kept working (slowly) on some hobby related projects.

One of the reasons why I was so busy is a new game mode I created for Eden. At first it was a projects for my friends and I, but the game editor got interested and contacted me. My fan project turned into an official supplement, and will be released pretty soon. I'm so happy about this !

But it's not today's subject. I've painted reinforcements for my Fury Goblins. The latest is a Red Rider on War-Hamster. The concept is so fun !
I love painting these goblins, really.

You can see all the images on my blog 50 Nuances de Violet (wich means 50 shades of Purple.

Thanks Casey !
Yes the boots have a gloss varnish as final touch. At first, I had planned to put some weathering powders, to imitate the dust and all, but then I thought that It'd be funnier if they had perfectly polished shoes. When I posted my first models on the official forum, the game creator told me that he loved this idea, so I kept it.

Camkierhi wrote:Wonderful to see you again, love the Hammie, and always loved these little chaps, but then I am bias. That sniper is just full of character.

You love greenskins, don't you ?
So do I.

I have one more to show. This one is a special character, he's the result of scientists experiments to create the ultimate weapons to end the war against yetis.
Please welcome Gobderuine. Any ressemblance with an existing character is voluntary.

Hahaha, that's brilliant! Is his alias Huge Axeman?

Jokes aside, your mastery over painting fabrics and textiles is second to none. The vines on the base are fantastic, where did you get them? Or did you make them?

Hi guys !

Thanks for the comments, glad to see familiar names again. ^^
@ Casey : haha, I love this, I'll call him Huge Axeman from now. So funny.
The vines on Huge's base are Army Painter stuff. I already had grass tufts from that, and found these someday in the local shop. I thought it could be a nice addition for bases and sceneries.

I have more to show from the last months, but I've just finished a new model today, thus I'll show it today. There was a new Askari release for Eden last month, and as you know I'm in love with this faction, it's my favorite since I started Eden.
The Masakh (it's its name) is quite huge regarding the Eden range. It's the second model on 50 mm base, after the Blue Fusetsu (remember, I painted it last year) for the ISC.

I converted him a little bit, replacing his right hand and his head. Since there ara laaaaaaaaarge skin areas, painting Masakh took me ages but in the end I'm very very happy with the result. Hope you'll like him. As usual, see more views on my blog 50 Nuances de Violet.

And to conclude, I'd like to say a word about an upcoming Eden release. As some of you already know, I'm quite involved in Eden, I organise events and create home rules for the game. Lately I've been creating a new gamemode for Eden, and the project interested the game editor. He contacted me and offered me the possibility to make it an official release if I wanted to.
I said yes, and months later - that's why I've been quite busy lately - the ruleset is ready, and Happy Games Factory will launch it via Kickstarter on April 6th !

This gamemode introduces a lot of new features, with narrative play including sceneries and a campaign mode, and also rules for sceneries that allow to play on terrain heavy tables. Have you already wanted to play a post apoc game in city ruins, or on the catwalks of an old factory, or even between shipping containers of a commercial port ? Now you'll have the rules for it.
But it's not for veteran players only, on the contrary this supplement is a good way to start Eden thanks to it's sceneries that are quick and easy to set up.

Oh, and of course this will also be available in english.
