On a semi related note looking at that pic of the codex is the entier 'limited edition' part just a jacket for the regular codex? I was always under the impression they were proper alternate covers.

They used to be different (Chaos Daemons probably being the most extravagant with 4 covers.. one for each god).
Eldar is almost the same. It's the same cover art you get with the non-limited Codex, but without any of the text (i.e. it doesn't say "Eldar" or "Warhammer 40K" on it.

Looking at his previous sells, and what he has left feedback for thats quite a few GUO's he has sold, recaster?
With how many he's sold in the last 2 months, I'd wager he's recasting them.

To save on re-listing items with Ebay. oeople change the price of what they are selling to a stupid amount that no one will ever pay. This is only because they have run out of stock and waiting for more so instead of paying for re-lists they just make sure no one buys any until they get more in.

Yeah you just put a massive high stock value Say a few thousand. And once the Actual amount has run out change the price to one that no one will buy for. You can make sales on ebay that have no time limit. just go untill you run out of stock. Then you only need to pay the fees on what has sold rather than re listing every time you sell 10.
After looking through this thread a lot of the items posted here are the same sort of thing. Especially when you check how many have been sold and at what prices.

This isnt exactly folly persay, but I guess... delusional.
The good:
$309 and counting
The lolz $349.63 BIN
Both airbrush, one done with obvious knowledge of shading and high lights.
The other, seems like a 5 minute airbrushing job, upon realizing the failure starts drawing black lines as an attempt to break the
fail shade, or simply just mask it...

Really? I can't see what you three see in it. Just look at how lazy those gems are, they didn't even cover some of them properly and it shows in the close ups in that GW article. It's sell, but that price is a bit high for what you're getting. I'd say it should be closer to the $150-180 mark at most.

The WK is what $100 (im in UK so its just £70) And you are saying that his work is basically only worth $50-$80 =. that is mighty low on the estimate. The model above has nothing special that you think is deservidly of its $309 bid so far. When in truth it is just Air brush shading and some highlighting. Even the base is just Masking taped off and a simple fade put on it. The gems looks flat and dull also.
Where as Hugos has a fully custom made base out of Cork and other items completly painted up. the gems are done in a nice gloss so they shine as they should and underneath the black line is exactly the same shading effect as used on the green one, it just doesnt show as well because of the limited tones between the two colors on Hugos model. The sword and general Gold work is also great on Hugos. As is the effect of the sword.
But each to there own. But i would not call this an ebay Folley. Go and search in the forum for "My Worthy painting Woes". that's a follies. not this.

It may not be worth that much either, but it's a bit closer than the blue one. Those glossy gems are just lazy.
The shading is inconsistant, even missing in places (such as the left forearm and the bumps on the fins). Hell he didn't even bother to paint over some parts such as the soft armour in the right arm's elbow and simply left the quick blue spray job he did. The sword is pretty basic, just a glow at the end and these stark lightning patterns along it to distract just like the vines. And the gaps over it. It's alright, but it's not "omgawesome".
The base though is pretty nice, not the three gems and the water part, but the rock the grass and such is nice. The pose on it, looks awkward and forced for the sake of the base. All over it looks like a pretty quick perhaps rushed job in order to try to ride the wave of the knight's release. Which is why it doesn't seem worth as much, perhaps the $150-180 range is a bit harsh, but it's certainly falling flat of the $350 mark.

I could maybe match the second one in time, but not in the time the model has been available. If you want a decently painted model quick then that's the cost.
First model though is breathtakingly awesome. That's an award winner right there and the models only been available weeks not months. Wow.

I don't paint most of the gems on my Eldar (just one on each, for their soulstone). I hate a billion gems covering every Eldar thing ever, it looks stupid. If I ever get a Wraith Knight, I'll probably only paint the one in the center of it's chest.
