Hi, thanks for the comments.
Yes the male and female 'not cadians' now named 'Arcadians' are well on the way. A very badly timed casting hold up has delayed the release. I am doing all I can to get them out asap.
In the meantime, here is a preview of things to come in 2014. I have been working with the very cool digital artist, Jake Schneider to create a formidable heavy weapons battery. Here's one of the first.
Cheers, V

Is the gun chassis standard heavy weapon sized? I have a ton of spare heavy weapons but no frames to mount them on so if the chassis was available separately I would buy a fair few.

Thanks for the update.

Jake does good work, that's a very heavy looking rig, and suits the current models well.

Will there be different heavies for the Arcadians?

Great to hear some news. Even if it is a little unfortunate that the Arcadians are delayed, the heavy weapons are a lovely surprise.
Do you have any larger or morerecent WIPs of the Arcadians, Vic? I seem to remember you mentioning they'd have different rifles to the rest of the regiment, and I'd love to we them on the figures.

Cheers, the Arcadians will initially have the current las rifle. I plan to to an option later on with the new auto and las rifles that Jake has been working on become available.

Oh yeah that's nice looking.

Will you just be making laser cannons or will the range be expanded into other heavier weapons?

As I mentioned on FB, I love it. Can't wait to see what else is in the works.

What we really need are some reworked heavy weapon arms in resin with the armoured plates as per the newer arm sets.

More choice for my Praetorians. Col Gravis recently did a nice set via Kickstarter but those are more of a generic Victorian Sci-Fi rather than having a 40 look.

Colour me interested in picking these up once I have seen the female Guardsmen, purchased more bits for kilted Praetorians...and more Rough Riders...and resin Tannenburgers......

I do like being spoilt for choice.

Very nice again, Vic. I went in for the Col Gravis KS specifically to accompany a planned force of your space-Victorians, just awaiting funds

I think this would be a great idea- I also have plenty of spare heavy weapons and could do with some gun carriages.

Also, when you say "the whole shebang, bang!" would that possibly include some Earthshaker and heavy mortar sized guns?

Ah, spiffy. Jake's work is lovely, judging from the previews and the new gun carriage. Do you have a link to more of his work?
If you're planning on accessories for the carriage, can I suggest a little track unit to replace the wheels? That'd give some flexibility for a more futuristic look.

I second this statement!

Now I just need some special weapons other then fusion guns...especially not-plasma guns.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Personally I've like to see flamers and Field Cannons to equip my bassic infantry with.

I think the rest of the range will be filled up in due time, especially with someone else being brought aboard to handle the weaponry.

I guess this means we'll see gunner conversion parts to make crew from the infantry?

From the look of that gun design, it will probably be a guy with a remote control or something, as this design doesn't seem to feature any visible controls or optics.

I was going to try and convert las cannons similar to these.

Will there be, maybe an option for some smaller non metal plated wheels? More WW2 anti tank than si fy cannon

Similar to some of the old guard heavy weapon teams that GW used to sell? (the Mordian lascannon team in particular comes to mind) That would make sense. Also makes them feel a little more futuristic whilst keeping the old-fashioned gun carriage design that fits with the Victorian aesthetic of most of Vic's kits.

Thanks for the comments. Jake is currently working of a swag of new weapons including plsma types.
The inspiration for these HW platforms comes partly from my 1999 Pratorian Guard conversions.
We are looking at doing some alternate wheels and track units.

Looks great overall.

However, 4 little flares that run from the behind the muzzle cap into the barrel look a bit out of place to me though. Kind of a raygun-gothic (Flash Gordon'ish) accent on a weapon that otherwise has a bit more of a gritty functional look.

Not a huge deal just a big of feedback.

I am absolutely chuffed to hear that you guys like it and to get to see your feedback.

I have to let Victoria decide when she previews stuff, however, I can assure you there are more weapons for this carriage coming, and plenty of small arms as well.

Yes, as to size, it's similar to the current HW setup - it's placed on a (digital) 60mm base for the shots to give you a good context for sizing.

I just have to say, personally, it's an amazing experience for me to work with Victoria. I shamelessly admit to having had a massive nerd crush on her and her work for ages, so working with her has been a dream come true.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

Oh whao! I thought that was a 40mm base! That's going to be huge!

Very cool, but i feel that their is going to be some issues with them being that big. Try to make sure their is enough room so at least a gunner can fit on the same 60mm base with the gun for thows of us looking to use them in modern IG rules. Personally I like the ascetic of two men on a 60mm base so you can have a gunner/loader or a gunner/spotter.

That gun is taking up a whole 60mm base all on it's own, so not sure how I'm going to fit two guys on the base let alone one! You may need to scale it down slightly.

I agree with Lockark. I would scale the heavy weapons down so two minis could fit with the weapon. This would allow us to use the weapons with the current popular 28mm game.

I really like the look of the heavy weapons. The carriages are beautiful. I would be interested in empty gun carriages. Spare gunner arms might sell well to go with the empty carriages.

I look forward to the many new items this year. You may make (even more) money off me.

Color me interested. I have to expand my IG and need HW. Although the HWT kit is one of the best value for money you need carriages to take advantage to the fullest extent.

Have no fear guys! Figures DO indeed fit on here, I keep a couple digital ones around for sizing when in doubt. It's actually even written up on my white board (I keep one around for listing down jobs, etc), and it's double underlined - "Ensure 2 figs can fit without grinding each other".

*Edit*

As a side note, the ones V showed off above from her own collection? They're actually wider than mine!
