I really like that the female miniatures look like women in military gear rather than the stripper with gun approach that most female miniatures seem to be.

Looks SOOOOO much better than the Lemon Puff but I assume it's closer in size to the Chimera?
Would still be great in my renegade army though whatever it's size.

It suits better with Loyalist armored company. but will the track pieces be the same as classic Imperial Armor?

My vote would be ranges for the next bunch of ladies.. but I also think it might be good to start with a smaller pack of 2-3 of them for each regiment rather than 10 for 1.. that will bring a lot more variety and then you can always go back and make more later.

Man, the urge to link to bikini-zons further down the page is overwhelming, you know that right?
Now then, since we're talking about *good* minis, here's the handful in my head.
First, I'd shrink the main body gun on the Matilda to about half that long. It looks a tad clumsy projected out so far. Teh turret's fine and the body's faboo, just that one, let's say Heavy Bolter, that's a small flaw.
For new stuff, Arcadian Command and Arcadian Heavies seem to be needed. Maybe a "Junior officer" set and a "High command" set? Or just put enough spare parts in there to build either. A nice gender blend would also be nice. The heavies would need a few different weapon options and, again, a nice gender blend.
I don't know if the Victoria crew's got experience with modelling horses, but a nice bit of classic cavalry could be keen. Civil War-style, with pistol and cavalry sabre, and a carbine option. Maybe some extra parts for a musician and a banner bearer? Obviously an officer option as well. (Geeze Wak, you don't want much, do you?)
I wouldn't mind some stand-alone "Top officer" types, either. Patton-like general, a female and male major, maybe three captains. (two male, one female) to provide several options in terms of style.
Lots and lots of room for future expansion, yupyup!

I have zero use for these minis. I mean that - zero use. I don't play 40k - cannot even substitue into Bolt Action as I don't play that. I am playing historicals and I am sure, at least fairly sure, I cannot proxy them in for Romans.
So why on god's green earth have I just ordered a set of the women soldiers??
Why?
Because they are just so dang good and actually look like women soldiers and not minis that should come with a pole modelled onto the base. I have been watching this thread for ages and almost buying stuff but never pulling the trigger.
Now, Victoria, how about some female heavy weapon troopers and you can separate me from even more money. That tank is also going to be purchase as soon as it is ready.
Dang it - now I know I am going to be buying the rest of the range now I have made my first purchase. Ugh, more stuff to hide from the wife.
Dang it again, that standard bearer has suddenly become a NEED!!
|
2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games. |

I seriously know how you feel. I have approximately 120 of vic's various troopers to incorporate into my standing IG army. Didn't need a damn one of them, but how could I say no! For the next lady selection up to bat, I'd like to see Victorian(they don't have to be wearing Kilts!), Van Diemen's World Devils and penal troopers. I also really like Necros' suggestion about doing them in sets of 3 or 5.

Rather than moving on to expand other ranges straight away, could we see some more work on the Arcadians?
Special and Heavy Weapon arms are vital for people wanting a full army, and the talk above of a high command kit sounds awesome!

I think this is a super smart decision to fill out the Arcadians with the above Special and Heavy weapons and the like or maybe a sprue of conversion bits like empty hands to fit certain other weapons from certain other ranges and a few other bits to be integrated to existing heavy weapons.
I've preordered the Sarg and I'm now planing a smallish force to first use as ally's before expanding to a full Imperial Guard army.

Far and away the Victorians. Your ladies are finally going get me back to work on my IG, Pretorians and ACW (heads with kepis on Cadian bodies). Victorians would allow me to put ladies in both these armies.
If you're looking for a niche army that NO ONE else is doing for 40K (besides me), American Civil War might be a road to go down. Mmmmm, female heads in kepis. I'm in love.
