Are the new regiment squads going on sale at the same time? I'd like to pick her up with a couple of squads to go with her at the same time.

My receipt email is timestamped a minute after Vic's announcing availability, so it should hopefully be on the way in a bit. I couldn't resist adding a few matching squads... At least I kept it below mortgage payment levels? Vic's probably less happy about that, but one day I'll probably need to order some Sledgehammers...

I had my cart and PayPal info ready to go, I wasn't going to miss out

That said usually they last a few weeks, so I think you'll be fine to wait a few hours before buying one. Can't wait to see these svergan guys up close. I know I've been posting my valhallans conversions a lot but these make much better sargeants and vets letting me focus on using the warlord models as basic infantry.

I was thinking about it, but it's cast as one piece and in a pose that makes modding it harder when trying to swap out more traditionally 40k weapons, like, say, a bolt pistol for a certain officer of the 597th,

London, UK.

My latest order has just arrived in country, Colonel Chenkova and a five figure squad. Apparently they attempted to deliver to work at 0611 on Monday, when we still haven't arrived at the office. Today I received a card from Royal Mail telling me that it is now in the Central London Delivery Office, and there is a fee to pay. £6.46 to Customs, and the £8.00 ripoff to Royal Mail! I have a choice: pay online and receive the packet in two working days, or take three buses after work to collect it in person.
That's a £14.46 fee on a £40.90 order (inc.postage)!
I really hate Royal Mail at times. May their directors run foul of the Serious Fraud office!!!

I have to say I was impressed by how fast my order got here with it placed on the 16th and delivered to the US on the 27th. I've had vendors that are in the same country that took longer to fulfill. Now, if only I could paint anywhere near as quickly as Vic and Co. can ship...

Is that a tank or an IFV? Not sure I like rear-mounted turrets on tanks with short guns, but more of a transport wouldn't be so bad; passengers take up the space big gun ammunition would require. With the release of the not-vahallans, who are in turn not-Winter Soviets in their styling, have you tanken a gander (yeah, that was a typo...not fixing it) at some of those designs? The T-28 seems like one of those glorious OTT inter-war designs to crib cues from as well.

IFV, that's a not-Chimera.

The IFV does look nice, clear similarities with the Matilda MBT. That said, it'd be interesting to see something a bit more modern in style, closer to some of the Cold War era IFVs from the Warsaw Pact and NATO. The GW Chimera does have some influences from the BMP-series of vehicles after all.

And on another note, I noticed that there are no legs with riding boots while browsing the store. A suggestion for a future release could be victorian legs with knee-high boots, so it's possible to make dismounted cavalry, i.e dragoons?

I hate to crap on a nice model but I have that model already, from Chimeras and some stuff from Ratguard and Blood and Skulls Industries. Actually to the point, Ratguard has a much better rear Chimera door than that.

Just sell us the turret and maybe the upper deck, since the rest of it we can already build from stuff we already have.

I'll be honest, I'm underwhelmed by that tank. The body is very similar to the existing Chimera, too similar for me to shell out for it. I like the turret, but frankly, you might as well just do a conversion kit for that then a full blown tank if that's the primary selling point.

Just got my svergans in, they look ace. Once I get some built I'll put them alongside my built Valhallans from Warlord kits and see how they measure up. I think they'll mesh nicely.

I dont think that tank is up to much, I'm afraid. If you're going into such deeply populated waters as 'IG armor', I'd love to see you cut loose, a little. It's a wide universe, and there are more ways to tread out.

I think a kit that would turn a chimera into a mini gorgon, open top landing craft would be cool.

I would guess that the tank is probably aimed more at people who want to buy tanks than at people who already have tanks and don't want to buy more...

Then you totally misunderstand me. I buy tanks constantly. I love AC lists. But there's no point in buying THIS tank because the parts to make it, bar the turret and top deck, already exist. Why would I buy THIS tank for whatever it costs when I can build an almost identical tank for most likely less? They'd do better to offer the turret and maybe some of the hull as a kit rather than try to sell me a whole tank.

Hell, if they wanted to make a kit where the chimera's sides got replaced by something that actually resembles how a real tanks road wheels and suspension work, THAT I'd buy.

Ah, I see. That would explain why there is, say, only one single car manufacturer in the world. No point in Ford releasing a family sedan when Toyota already made one...

People like having choices. Having one more tank design to choose from is a good thing, even if you're not personally interested in it.

Some people also like buying everything from one place. So Vic adding a basic transport to her range so that people can buy their entire guard army from her is also a good thing.

What insaniak said. If I weren't already using Taurox for my Vic Broolians, I'd definitely pick these up because of the similarity in design to the Matildas I'm using.

I get what he's saying. The design does not look to be sufficiently different from the model that it is trying not to be, to be worth the extra money for what appears to be just a new hull top and turret. to be to be to be do. something something The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

It's not so much saying that they shouldn't bother and go home; as it is saying 'I would not buy this as things stand, but if you change X I would be far more likely to consider it'. The tank is still in the design stage it would appear, which means that if people give feedback, it might be listened to.

For me to dig into my wallet and buy a resin 'not-chimera' which is likely triple the price of a GW one by the time I've added shipping (knowing Vic's prices), it needs to be offering me something substantially different to that plastic one. If it was going to be thirty quid, I might find just a different turret sufficient bang for my buck, but judging by the prices of the other tanks, I'm more likely to be looking at sixty. Given the GW version is 20 quid, I'm just not willing to part with forty quid for what is essentially a different turret and a slightly different outline of rivets on the side. For that price point, I want an interesting, cool looking, well cast design that fits all the weapon/physical footprint requirements of a Chimera, but looks different to one.

I say this as someone who has two Vic Minis Sledgehammers, six Mortians of various calibre, a bunch of MicroArt Stalk Tanks aimed at being Chimeras, and so on. I've got six Matildas on my 'to buy' list right now. I'm precisely the sort of customer that this tank is aimed at. But right now? Wouldn't pay more than thirty quid for it. Because it feels like a Chimera with a turret swap.
